For some reason it is not letting me set max CPU on slimbean 4.1.2 I even tried the new 4.2.2 and same thing. With stock kernel. I can set the min but max just won't stick.
Any suggestions? I would like to stay on stock kernel. Does it even have that function? I would think it should.

use system tuner, kernel tuner, etc. usually works bettter than the built in rom features when it comes to setting the cpu at a certain level and making it stick.

I want to be able to use CPU Tuner or SetCPU, but I'm not sure wether or not it is safe due to the fact that I'm flashing a ROM that already has a performance setting.
I'm currently flashing AOKP M1.
Should I enable CPU Tuner?
Thanks in advance.

Just don't use both at the same time. Pick one and stay with it.

even i too have a doubt, will over lcoking the device and using it as daily use in that frq. will this affect my device ? or any negative side of overclocking?

OC is not always safe, but putting 1200 max on this one is not dangerous...
To change governor / frequency and ram rules... I use the "Rom Toolbox".
I use Flinnys JB rom, it has CPU settings in Performance options (I think any CM based rom should have those) that allow you control min, max fequencies and governor. And given that Flinny includes kernel that supports overclocking you pretty much don't need any extra software to overclock. I set my device to 245-1500 with interactive governor. In conjuction with background process limit set to 2 device performs very well.
I looked around and haven't seen an answer, but sometimes my lock screen won't respond and it'll stay dark.. my LED notifier will show I've had notifications or I'll hear the sound/vibe. I'd have to battery pull or just hold the power till it reboots.. Any info on this?
What ROM/Kernel are you running?
A little bit more info would be helpful

I am using Wicked ROM with the stock Kernel.
That's a 3.4 kernel issue.
You can try upping your voltage and/or OC a bit. Can also set your minimum Mhz to 486.
If those don't work, you might have to get back to a 3.0 kernel based ROM until they're more work done to the 3.4 kernel.
A full wipe and reflash could possibly take care of this but if you don't feel up to all that, Bwolf56's suggestion is a good one. Another option is to grab a different 3.4 kernel. I was having issues on AOKP's 4.2.2 milestone until I flashed ktoonsez kernel. Onedemand governor, row scheduler, uv'd 25, max freq 1134. Zero issues and great battery life
Wicked isn't a 3.4 kernel rom. It's touchwiz T-Mobile base. I'd suggest doing a wipe, check md5 and reflashing the rom.
I changed the kernel fresh install. Everything. It still happens just less often now. And it doesn't matter what combination of kernel and rom I have used so far.

hey guys recently i have noticed something while benchmarking.....my max cpu frequency is locked at 1.3 ghz...i use xm 305 with arhd 21 and if i set my max freq to 1.5 ghz with performance governor on so it should clock my cpu to 1.5 ghz regardless what i do right????but my cpu is still displayed to be at 1.3 ghz(its displaying in trickster app info page)
i tried setting min freq to 1.5 ghz and it is still clocked at 1.3 ghz???
because of that i am kinda lagging in vice city and getting a little low score in benchmarking....
so should i reflash the kernel??or use different app?

if you use Set-Cpu see if u have some Profile on that cap cpu at 1.3Ghz
It's XM305 that is at fault. On ARHD21 and XM305 I, and others, have frequency locked at 1.3GHz.
XMister isn't available until September I think when he should return.
Change kernel and all should be well.

No, not all of them do. I know for a FACT #285 works fine because I was using that before #305.
I tested #303 and #304 and they had the same issue.
Beyond that I don't know.
I tested Trip's NEXT Tegra 4, very nice and fast, but found the battery usage a little high and it's a little light on features, no S2W or LP OC for example.
ATM I am using n3okernel v44 and very happy with it.

Trickster, SetCPU, fauxClock, System Tuner, they will all let you SET max CPU speed to 1.5GHz but there is something in the kernel clock-locking some CPU's at 1.3GHz and until XMister returns...
Clock speed is locked down to a max 1497.6MHz. I have tried flashing multiple kernels that are capable of 2.7ish GHz but even when I set the CPU to ie 2.2GHz it forces it back to 1497.6Mhz instantly on its own. Tried various kernels and CPU Scaling Apps.
Currently running Wicked Rom v1 KitKat and have tried every kitkat tw Kernel in the original dev section. App to scale include Rom Toolbox Pro and Antutu CPU Master Pro. Ive also cleared cache and delvik and even full format wipe. Any clue or tips?
