GPS is dead no matter what - HTC Wildfire S

Hello,
So, i got a wildfire s around 2 weeks ago, rooted and cwm-ed it in the first hours and been playing with it since then.
A few days ago i decided to try gps; surprise, it did not work! GPS Status app shows no satellites, while on another phone it shows ~7 in the same location.
I tried close to all the fixes available around here, flashed several roms (ones that worked, most sense based are stuck at htc logo anyway), manually edited values like SUPL_PORT, flashed latest radio, nothing works! I even get no connection on stock rom.
The phone is pretty banged up, is it possible the internals got damaged/desoldered/disconnected?
Since this issue arrived precisely after settling on a rom that's stable, my urge to test it against some bricks reaches critical limits
Any ideas? Beer will be served to honor those who help

Seems it's just me to find a fix. The problem was with the mainboard connector, the pins making contact with the antenna were dirty/bent downwards. Cleaned them up, lifted them up a bit and now i get perfect signal.
:good:

Hi !
Seems that I may have the same problem. My gps stopped working as I still used the original ROM (before any flash or bootloader unlocking). I tried several custom ROMs, but none of them fixed the gps signal.
Can you explain more accurately how you did fix yours ? Where on the phone are located the mainboard connector and the antenna you're talking about ?

[Q] Bluetooth, wifi and volume button doesnt work, please help

I can see on many forums and google searches that many have the same problem as me: Volume button doesnt work, and bluetooth and wifi cant be turned on. Wifi gives "error" message.
It started after I installed latest coredroid. But I've tried many other things now: All wipes and formats, miui, cyanogen and stock rom, new radios - no solution.
Anybody knows what the solution is?
i have seen that exact problem with an overheated dhd...
did you leave it someplace very warm? Maybe forgot the phone inside the car on a very warm day?
in my case it went to htc for repairs
The exact same happened to me dude. Volume up, bluetooth, 3g hotspot, WiFi not working. When it happened, I had been on 3g only for a couple of days and had used it quite a bit for navigation. Tried other custom and stock ROMs but those features were dead.
Got it fixed on warranty though - no idea what happened, the status page just claimed they had upgraded firmware but I know that's not true, as I had tried that myself.
Anywho, if it's still under warranty, send it off to get fixed, it's definitely some hardware issue.
If you tried several ROM with same error, your hardware has been in trouble. Bring it back to the shop

[Q] Wifi&Bluetooth problem (multiple roms already tested without success)

Q: What can I try to solve my problem.
Problem: Wifi and Bluetooth stop working. Wifi is hang out after switching on and back to off state, Bluetooth can be turned on, but I can't send any files to other devices (tried windows phone and another android 4.0.4 samsung galaxy s2 stock rom).
I've already tried:
1. ROMs 4.0.4 (blackout), 4.1.x codefireX and jelly time - in all of them the problems where pretty similar.
2. During installing new rom, in clockwork i've wiped out user data/make factory reset/wipe cache/wipe cache for virtual partition as well.
3. Try to use WiFix Manager, applying a fix with no success.
4. Try another SD card to be sure about the old data wiped out.
If someone have any suggestions I will be greatful for any tips. I've used custom roms for 2 years, with no problems, just follow the instructions here on forum, but now I'm stuck. Thanks in advance for any help and finally - thanks for all devs for their very good work
Try CyanogenMod 7. If not then run an RUU to return to fully stock. If that doesn't work then its a hardware problem and needs to be repaired
Success is sweet but revenge is so delicious
Unless you are the same fella, the two of you can try and find any common variables. Quite odd that both of you have the same issue around the same time.

No not the same person very weird. Although my bluetooth doesnt turn on either I also noticed yesterday my Volume buttons have stopped working completly. My DHD is out of warrenty so I have ordered a new mainboard Flex cable also hoping it may fix the WIFI as the connectors for the battery cover are on this (http://www.tmart.com/LCD-Flex-Cable...C-Desire-HD-Inspire-4G-G10-A9191_p161463.html) if it works I will let you know.
Did yours just pack up or was it after a flash or something, Have you tried going back to a previous restore?

Thanks for all the tips. I'm not the guy from the mentioned thread. It's true that my volume buttons also stop working. It happens just one day, when I didn't do anything to my DHD, I don't even install any kind of updates at that time. I've using 4.0.4 blackout for about 6 months, with no problems, everything was working. Then, suddenly wifi stop working, bluetooth also, volume buttons too. Looks as hardware problem to mee but I want to be sure, before spending money to repair it.
I'll keep fingers crossed and hope that flex replacement do the job. Can't wait for the good news.
The main board flex cable did it, wifi has never worked so well, volume buttons too and bluetooth. Very fiddly to install and i will say there is no guarentee it will fix your problem.
I ended up ordering from ebay as tmart took my money then said they had no stock. £28 in the end and dont forget the tools, getting the flash cover off is painful without the correct tool. There is a you tube video on dismantling the phone, good luck.

SM-N7505 Wi-Fi not turning on

Hi everyone,
I'm having serious problems with my Wi-Fi on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo (SM-N7505). Whenever I click the button to activate the Wi-Fi, the icon goes from grey to a dull green (darker than the bright green which signals that a function is turned on), as it does when it's trying to turn itself on. Problem is, instead of turning on, it just stays in that state for a few minutes before reverting to grey. This has gone on for a while, and I've already tried several possible solutions which I found after online searches. I don't think it's a hardware issue (see point 1 for the reason), and I really hope it isn't, because my warranty has been voided due to rooting, so I can't have my phone replaced or repaired unless I pay for it (which I can't at the moment). So, I'm basically ignoring the possibility of hardware failure and trying every possible software solution, hoping one of them will work, otherwise I'm just stuck with no Wi-Fi. These are the fixes I've tried:
1) Take out the battery while the phone is on, wait a few seconds, then put it back in and boot the phone up. This used to work when the problem first presented itself a few months ago (which is why I don't think it's a hardware issue), and I've been since using this method to fix it whenever it happened again. But a few days ago, this method stopped working for whatever reason, so I was back to square one.
2) I tried renaming the data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf file, which seems to have worked for some people, but not for me.
3) I tried updating the version from Kitkat to the recent Lollipop, hoping that would fix it, but nope.
4) I tried deleting practically every single app one by one, hoping that one of them was interfering with the Wi-Fi somehow, but nope.
5) As a last resort, I tried a factory reset, but not even that worked.
This is basically the long and short of what I've tried to fix this... I might've skipped a few of the simpler fixes I tried (for example, I just remember I tried disabling "Smart Network Switch", which seemed to do it for some people), but the big stuff is all there.
I'd really like to get my Wi-Fi back, so if anyone could help me fix this thing I'd be really grateful!
Thanks in advance to anyone who will bother to reply.
same problem dude
Same problem...wifi and bluetooth not working...pls help us
Same Problem for me, Initally it works fine even after updating Official Lollipop update (OTA), but after few months now wifi & bluetooth are not working for me. And finally faced battery drain issue for past few days. Battery goes down upto 20% per hour even in idle condition. Then i rooted & installed Note Rom & even after i face the same problem. Is there any way to fix?

OnePlus 3 issues

I'm having the following issues with my OnePlus 3 (stock recovery, no root):
15 November: last known date without any issues
16-18 November: when I played games I noticed that screen won't rotate even when auto rotate was ON
19 November: I wanted to click some pictures when the camera app just stopped working
Tried rebooting and clearing cache, but didn't work
Thought a software update might fix these problems
20-27 November: when I answered calls the screen won't turn off. That's when I realized that all the sensors on the phone had stopped working (no lift up display, motion sensors, etc). Read online that I could get the official Oreo update just by changing my VPN to Germany/Canada. So I did the same and upgraded to Oreo
Still the issues were there and battery drain was significant. The phone would reboot on its own.
On contacting OnePlus support they asked me to do a hard reset which seemed to work only for 3-4 days
28-29 November: the sensors stopped working again & again and I did a hard reset every time
In the end the phone switched off and the white notification light was on continuously. Pressing or holding the power button didn't work. Contacted support
2 December: through a remote session the OnePlus support installed Oreo again and on rebooting I got DM-VERITY error. So the support asked me to visit a Service Centre
3 December: I visited the SC where they concluded it was a hardware issue (motherboard: 17000/-) so I asked them to just roll back to OOS 4.5.1. Worked fine for 10-11 days
14 December: started rebooting randomly. Noticed that the phone would hang and reboot when using the camera (in WhatsApp, CamScanner and stock camera), maybe I'm wrong.
So now there's minimal usage of a phone with such high capabilities knowing that I'll have to do a hard reset once a week.
How can it be a hardware issue if the phone works fine for 4-5 days after a hard reset before breaking down again? What does that white notification light mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is your answer, there is a problem with you motherboard, you need to get it replaced, we cant diagnose a hardware problem here!
How come it works normally for a week or more if there's a problem with the motherboard?
And a hard reset seems to return the phone to its normal state.

That just means that it is faulty and will fail after some time. This most likely means there is a bad memory sector on the board. As suggested. Get it replaced or you will keep having these issues.
Okay. Thanks for clarifying.
May I know what may be the causes for the motherboard damage? How common is it that a motherboard malfunctions?
Because there was no physical damage at all. Thanks again!

See that is the thing. China has no real quality control standards. So it could just have been a bad board. If you look around you will see that a range of random issues seem to pop up over a short time. Yet some are just fine. Like mine. It had a faulty USB port from day one to the point that I knew it was gonna fail. (expected) So I am replacing it.

Wifi problem after screen replacement

Hey guys,
After I broke my display a few weeks ago i bought a replacement screen + digitizer and repaired it. I also changed the battery. Everything worked fine afterwards.
Mobile connection, gps, speaker, camera, fingerprint reader, everything. Just the wifi doesnt seem to get a propper signal.
I have to stand right infront of the router for it to find the connection and even then its not stable.
Before the repair everything worked fine. I guess it has to be a problem with the connection from the wifi
module to the antenna? But i cant seem to figure out where the contacts are to check.
All the pins at the backside of the motherboard which connect to the battery case seem alright.
I looked for this problem on and I found a few people who had a similar problem but no solution
other then clearing the network cache or factory resetting which didnt help for me.
Another idea i had after looking for a solution for other phones aswell was that I might have accidentally switched 2 screws around on the upper motherboard because some of those create a connection aswell right? Gonna look at them the next time i have time to open it up.
I have oxygen with twrp and rooted it with magisk if that information is needed but i dont think its a software problem because it was working fine before.
Thankful for any kind of help.
I had some time opening it up again. All the right screws are in the right places and the antenna cable is also plugged in correct on both sides.
Any help regarding where the wifi connects to the antenna at the back of the phone or help in general?
Thanks already
Same problem on my OP3T, I've only opened it to replace camera, earpiece and loudspeaker.
Also bluetooth does not work and GPS is slow to get position.
I don't know what to do. It seems an antenna problem.
Any idea?
