"CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors of these cell phones," Quote from their website.
CM10/CM10.1 - is based on Android 'Jelly Bean' 4.1/4.2 and has features like google now
CM9 - is based on Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' 4.0
Here is the link to their official website

If your looking for a pure gaming rom cm9/cm10 wont cut it. Using cm9/cm10 resort would make the xperia play gamepad unusable to some android games.

Thanks guys for your replies. Now I'm all clear

You won't find too much... There are no ROMS like you searching for. Cyanogen is Sense-less.

CyanogenMod is an AOSP rom (Android Open Source Project), that means that has no Sense interface. If you are trying to get some Sense 3.6 or 4.0 with ICS, there are a couple of Beta version in the development forum, but are not fully working. ICS update for the DHD will be released soon and as soon the kernel source is available in the HTCDEV site, the Dev's over here will be publishing their works. So be patient and in the meantime you can taste a bit of ICS with no sense interface...Paranoid Android is AWESOME!!...:fingers-crossed:
Taste of sense has got a launcher that seems like sense 4 and clock widget but as my friends said here there is no such thing like aosp sense 4 or other.its two different things.

[Q] Upgrade to Andriod 4.0

Hi Experts
I have HTC Desire HD on software version Android Version 2.3.5.
I would like to upgrade to Android Version 4.0 or higher, i have researched and found that HTC will not be releasing upgrade to 4.0.
Based on a bit of research and i think i am able to install a custom firmware. This is thread for Android 4.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778202 but there are bugs. I will be happy to have Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) but stable and everything should be working fine.
I would appreciate if someone could provide me a link or step by step instruction as I am newbie to this kind of installations.
Thanks

Use the Advanced Ace Hack Kit to root your phone. It's not here on XDA; Google for it. "attn1 aahk."
aospX by existz is rock stable, very fast and pretty much everything is working...with a bonus of great battery life. Flash this one.

Ice Cold Sandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450962 is also really stable. I was using that as my daily driver until I switched to CM10.
try sabsa prime v.10 by alirez http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839004 . you will have no bugs, sense interface and better battery life + bravia engine
Try to decide on your own ;D
Fast & Stable & Smooth > Non Sense
More comfort& functions & nicer launcher > HTC Sense UI 3.6 or 4.1
Best and easiest rooting method is aahk

Jb/ICS

ICS meaning ICE CREAM SANDWICH aka ANDROID v4.0+
JB meaning JELLY BEAN aka ANDROID 4.1+
these are versions of android and also CM9 which is ICS build version of android and CM10 is JB build version of android.
Thanx.. Got it

[Q] Leaked JB ROM's impact on custom JB ROMs (S/SL)

Since we have several leaked ROMs, recently, Jelly Bean with very stable support for the Xperia S devices, does this mean the driver issues on custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android, AOSP, AOKP, MIUI, etc. is resolved for Jelly Bean? Meaning, are we getting the same driver support as the original firmware from Sony, based on these leaked ROMs? Are the custom ROMs utilizing these drivers in anyway? Or do we still have to wait for Sony to officially release the source code for Jelly Bean?

They need the kernel source from Sony, which should come shortly after the official release. It will make 4.1.2 AOSP (and based) ROMs really faster. Might help 4.2.2 ones also.

[Q] Rom question

Hey guys,
I am curious. I have been looking at the roms for the Samsung i927 and it doesn't seem there is a custom rom that is fully working. All the roms i see are either no longer developed, built on icecream sandwich or built on the 4.3/4.4 rom where a few features don't work like skype or bluetooth headset profile.
Am i missing something or is there a higher rom than icecream sandwich (preferably 4.3 or 4.4) that is full function/fully operational? thanks in advance
Development is on hold but there is always a hope, As i know bubor has build a good cm11 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2802184
[DEV][ROM][KK 4.4][Unofficial] CM 11.0 witch it has voip sound if you install tasker or if you install alsa switch app and do it manually, the other issues are no matter build is stable for daily use. If the development wasn't on hold we could have and nearly fully working cm12 but for now you can use cm11 or stick to ics
