Can I use the lcd of S2+ i9105P in my S2 i9100?
i do not want to use i9100 lcd cause it have green tint issue, s2+ do not have this problem :crying:
I think u can use s2+ display in s2, as both are of amoled type with same aspect ratio n same size.
But not sure about the tint issue.
I've never noticed any kind of greenish tint on my display.

AMOLED screens don't do as well with reading text
but Super AMOLED is better at viewing from different angles and a bit better in direct sunlight
it also saves power (theoretically)
So how about the LCD that the Desire is running with.
Will it consume more power (on paper) than a Super AMOLED screen?
Personally, most importantly for me, is how it does in direct sunlight. i need to be able to use my screen outdoors
Tft is better than super amoled iMO super amoled looks nasty it has a greenish tinge and colors are over saturated, super lcd has better colors tbh. The only problem is that is consumes much more than super amoled but idc about that
How do i know wich screen i have in my desire?
Old thread... , but if you go to gallery and have the picture rotated so that you have a black border, you won't be able to see a backlight in the black area on an amoled display (do that in a dark area). That looks great! But it's right, the colors are oversaturated and i'm really happy to have the LCD version...
Doesn't the desire has an AMOLED screen and not a super AMOLED screen? And I feel lcd drains more batt the AMOLED screens. And I have not seen a greenish tinge on my AMOLED screen so far.

Tbh, All SAMOLED screens have this effect at least my old captivate did.
Wait until supercurio messes with our phones He fixed that issue for me on the Captivate. I'm pretty sure he's going to able to work his magic on our phones as well.

Turn off autobrightness and set it to 40% and it should be less obvious.
yup it's a common side effect of all the SAMOLED displays
it's less obvious when you have the brightness at around 30%
the only phone that doesnt is the nexus s.. because google made the color a little yellowish in an update. Maybe its the rom, or maybe i dont notice it anymore, but beastmod v3.6 seems to have white whites

On my Galaxy Note 2, if I display a pure black screen in a completely dark room, I can see that first of all, the "black" is not really black, but somewhat pinkish. And second of all, there are "really black" dots and lines across what is supposed to be "pure black" but is somewhat pinkish (like i said). Also, this effect, of having a darker line, can also been seen with say, dark blue on screen in a completely dark room.
This effect is not noticeable when white or other colours are on screen. I'm really sorry but I can't show you a picture of this because obviously a screenshot captures the digital signal and not the physical output and I don't have a good enough camera to take pictures of what I'm saying in complete darkness.
Is this a defect or just an unavoidable "feature" of Samung AMOLED screens?
you did not use the search function: i personally wrote a huge amount of posts regarding this, also in the note1 section!
search for "black blotches" or take a look at my posts. really lots of them are about this!
in short:
its manufacturing dependant and its luck of the draw to get a "good" screen!
samsung lives with this as not many customers complain(ed) about it, as most of them do not even notice it!

Mine is pure back at full brightness when seen in a dark room (no pinkish hue or any line that you mention). And Note 2 screen doesn't even have the infamous black clipping/crushing issue like its predecessors! Blue colour also good, no issues for me.
No, it is definitely not an AMOLED feature or drawback (never seen it on any other AMOLEDs either)! Of all other aspects samsung SAMOLED screens are known to have the deepest blacks (with best contrast ratio). Sure, it sounds like you have a defective screen, and my suggestion would be to get it checked up at SC for replacement.
i also have a similar issue on my note 2. a black screen is not completely black, but a brownish black. And i can see 3 (or more) dots which are completely black.. i can see this only in a dark room, so normally this is not an issue. But when i read kindle in my bed with dark background, this really bothers me. initially i thought this was some smudge on the screen. im sad to hear that other people are also having this issue..
I had the black dots on my galaxy s2 ... but not my note ... The screen on my note has none of that sooooooo happy about that it really is just luck of the draw ....

Same issue here. But it does not bother me that much, and if I get it replaced, the next one might have worse issues.

im only worried if it will grow in time. like a dead pixel in an LCD screen, if this phenomenon spreads to the neighboring pixels over time, then its a very bad thing... otherwise, i am not bothered at all..
We need this thread each time there is a new phone which amoled screen? ..
The sgs2 has this as well as the sgs3 the note 1 etc.
it's not a defect, it's a limitation of amoled screen production.

Sorry, what you say here its not possible! EVERY amoled 'suffers' from this ('cause it CANNOT display 100% blacks, due to it's active matrix)! If you won't see it it's because of a wrong method or your eyes!

Guys I have a galaxy nexus and i bought it recently and it some kind of unlocked device which I got it for a cheaper price for ebay. The problem is that I can see some black grids on the display when the screen brightness is set to the lowest this is not visible when the screen brightness is increased to the maximum amount. I want to know why this is happening. I have also attached a picture i hope the grids will be visible in that. I just want to know whether to make a guarntee claim in ebay or not.
That's the digitizer grid. I see it on mine... faint gridlines that you can only see in a very dark room with the brightness as low as it'll go.

I have a problem in which I'm not sure if my device is defective. I am aware Amoled screens are very contrasty and displays deep blacks but poor whites . My concern is the white which shows off-white,dull and yellowish on my GN3. My previous devices were the HTC One with S-LCD 3 and the Nexus 4 with IPS display. With little tweaks the color production was perfect and the white's were white on those devices. I don't know if I'm spoiled by the LCD display's or my units defective. I've tried all the screen mode from adapt display to movie with no avail. I currently own a Nexus 7 (2nd Gen) which also has a LCD screen in which I compared the note 3 white level. Maybe my eye's just need to get use to the amoled screen or maybe it's defective, please any input would be appreciated. I've attached a photo with the Nexus 7, GN3 and Galaxy Nexus I know its a bad comparison and crappy pic but hopefully it helps.
Do you have a screen brightness app installed such as Lux? If so, you need to change the nightmode settings, I had the same problem and realized the app was giving a filtered tint to my scriin such as the one you described.

Samsung took Apple's approach and made their screens yellow, for added warmth. LOL.
