Okay so i flashed the ROM and no other bugs other than the fact that where I live I get such crappy signal that i depend on wifi calling so turning that off is NOT an option. I keep getting the IPService has stopped running any other suggestions to make it stop/fix?? Keeps going even after fix permissions and turn wifi off and back on.... I would post under the ROM but apparently I havent asked enough questions to get to do that.. Sorry for understanding instructions ....
OMG
Okay so either no one has an answer or they think that I am an idiot. the obvious answer for me is to go back to my prior ROM of choice but I like this ROM and would like to give it a fair shake but I do need my wifi calling intact. In my home (the apparent second circle of hell) I get crappy Tmo reception so I depend on wifi to push my calls through. I tried flashing another kernel but the wifi calling is not kernel dependent. Is there something that is being worked on????? Or shoudl i just give up and go back to my old rom?
I don't think anyone thinks you're stupid. I can tell you that I've never seen this error before. Have other people reported this issue?
I dont have wifi to test but you could download the modified mms.apk and see if that helps you. Let me know if the problem still there after that
i just flshed today.. and i get this all day long.. while on facebook... and just having my phone on.. i dont think its an app it might be bad coding?

the message is only when wifi calling is checked regular wifi works fine when unchecking wifi calling ip message goes away. This ROM is great its fast and battery life is good would like to use this rom but wifi calling is important to me because and to many others if you find time in version 3 to make wifi calling work that would be great. Is there anything that we can do to make this service work something that needs to installed or modified? Where do we get this modified mms.apk when searching for this it only mentions modified mms.apk for AOSP ROM's? Will the AOSP modified mms.apk work on this ROM? Thank you so much for all you do and time to make ROM's.

It used to be that when I received a picture and had wifi turned on, 3g would turn itself on briefly in order to download the message. Now, I need to manually turn on 3g in order to receive MMS. I am using Kingdom Rewind RLS 2 as my rom. Anyone know how to fix this?

I leave 3G on all the time (technically). My understanding is that even with 3g enabled, when wifi is on android "disables" the 3g until it's needed, then automatically turns it on, then off when finished, and switches back to wifi.
Is yours set up that way, but not working properly?
I noticed that I have the same problem when 3g isn't enabled.
Also, I don't have an unlimited data plan so I leave 3g off unless I need it so that I don't have to worry about going over on the data.

I don't leave 3g on all the time even with wifi on because I am not always connected to a wifi network.
i've noticed this with some of the newer roms... i just cycle the wifi to get or sent mms.
usually when i receive a mms i get notification that it needs t o download.. i turn off wifi and download and then turn wifi on again. same sending.. turn off wifi.. send mms... turn it back on.
small price to pay for some of the coolest roms available!

I've had to do this since back in the D1 days, I guess I just got used to it...
there hasnt been a fix for mms over wifi on 2.1/3.0 roms yet.. but you will know when there is a fix for it if there ever is one cause im sure it will be all over the Dinc forums
im pretty sure nilp has a work on business gingersense 2.1/3.0

yea he does but i havent seen any difference between my rom and his that could be causing no mms over wifi
Fix for MMS
I found this over in the development section. I really hope that Joel can work it in to the next version of Kingdom Rewind 3d. Looks to be an APN problem, but the devs have to edit some framework files etc.
See Here:

Although, it appears that this is done on Kingdom Rls3 so im not sure if its valid or not. Would love to have a solution its the only thing standing in the way of being my daily driver.
BusinessSense was good and it worked, however, the problem there for me was that every time i tried to make a call it told me i was roaming. The fix is to turn off call guard, however, if i actually am roaming i certainly want to know that.
All in all though, the sense 3.0 roms are awesome.

I can't rembemer how I fixed it but the only thing common between my ROMs is my mods to the phone.apk and my build.prop changes. Could also be that I repacked the GS kernel.
Strange
Sorry about that

Sorry for misspeaking there. I have been trying out way too many roms to decide on a daily driver. What was it with yours? I think maybe it was that I couldnt use verizon stuff to get my voicemail.

PM me the details so we don't clog up this thread
I have noticed that all the JB roms do not have wifi calling and there was a thread in the ROM section about wifi calling and getting it to work. An Author of one of more popular ROMS for our device came out and said not to ever excpect wifi calling as a feature. My question is why aren't we seeing wifi calling in the newer ROMS. I was a little hesitant to ask this question cause I feel like i'm going to get flamed by seniors, but I honestly don't know the reason and it seems like everyone else does, so i'm curious. I don't have a problem with it because I'm using an ICS rom that does have Wifi calling, I was just wondering whether the issue was a technical hurdle in getting it working on newer ROMS, or is it just a PITA to get it working? just wondering, no complaining
From what I understand its only in official T-Mobile based roms cause no one has yet figured out how to pull it and use it in other roms like CM, AOKP...

Tmo has also switched over to the ims system for wifi calling on android. All new devices need to use that system to wifi call. And taking that info and molding it into asop/aokp roms is simply a pain that most people don't want to delve into. If you want wifi calling you may want to stick to a modded stock rom. At least if you are on tmo...if not i think there are a couple apps that assist in VoIP calling
sent from my T989 full of CM awesomeness and a touch of Venom from the Darkside!!
First, thanks to everyone who has made tolte based AOSP roms so amazing. I have been using them as a daily drivers since 4.1.1 and have seen how quickly they have stabilized. Nice work! I have one remaining issue that someone can hopefully help me out with.
I cannot get a gps lock when connected to LTE. As soon as I enter LTE coverage it loses the lock and searches until I re-enter 3G.
I have tried several AOSP ROM variations (clean flashes), different modems (currently on MA7) and different Network modes with no luck. I currently work around this issue when I need a GPS lock by Setting the Network mode to CDMA / Evdo, and Airplane Mode On/Off, forcing me to stay in 3G/1X. Sprint is finally rolling more 4G out here in Baltimore and would like to take advantage of it.
Any suggestions? Anyone else having/not having this issue? I have captured logcats both entering and leaving LTE. The results are way over my head, but can PM them if they might help.
Thanks in advance,
Matt
I know all about the 4g growing in Baltimore. Unfortunately, I am kind of fond of the tw based roms and can't answer the question in full for you...
However, no gps fix on lte.... hmm... I'm going to have to think on that one...
You had pretty much answered everything I would have asked, and I know this might sound like a pain but does it work ok on a tw based Rom?

TirithXiato, thanks for the reply.
I haven't tried Twiz in awhile, mainly because i like PA and Xposed per app dpi. It used to work on mine and still works on my wife's stock note 2.
I have looked all over for someone having the same problem and at known issue logs... but nothing.
I'll try Twiz again and see if it's something with the phone.
Meanwhile is this working for anyone?

As I said, I'm in the Baltimore area and haven't had a problem. I am on stock ma7 deodexed though... I like the stock s pen apps and xposed works lovely for me...
I'd give it a try, if it still fails on a tw Rom, I'd say it's probably something hardware related

Did anyone solve this problem?? I am having the same issue here.
Gps doesn't get lock on lte. It gets locked just fine on 3g tho.
I'm using Minitab rom.
Tried this lil trick yet? Worked for me when I couldn't get a GPS lock at all, although in my area its all LTE, so hopefully it'll work if you haven't gone this route already.
1. Nandroid your rom.
2. Download a TW ROM, I used Lab Rats.
3. Flash the TW ROM, get a lock (and stay where ever it is you got the lock)
4. Restore your aosp ROM
5. Profit
If it doesn't work you may just need to do all the afore mentioned steps up to step 3, but then reflashing your aosp ROM. I know, I know, a pain in the @$$, but if you want your GPS working properly then you might wanna give it a go. And hey, if it doesn't work you have you Nandroid. Hope this helps.
I know this is an old thread, but maybe this will help someone in the future if they Google search (that's how I found this while looking for a solution). This advice worked for me:
Use root browser to edit the last line in
/etc/gps.conf
The last line will be
LPP_PROFILE=0
Change the 0 to 3. Save and exit.
^thanks. Helped me!
I started using ILWT's CM7 rom not really knowing what I was getting into. It works great but 80% of my life is outside of cell range and I rely heavily on wifi calling.
The stock G2 wifi calling app no longer works (which apparently everyone knows). I tried using tmobile's crappy Tmobile bobsled app which was a waste of time.
How do I get my wifi calling/texting back? preferably one that uses my phone number like the stock one did. I've searched around seen people refering to links in their signatures that are no longer there but nothing else.
Please help, I'd rather not go back to stock but will if I have to.

CM7.2 has wifi calling as does a some of the sense 2.1 and sense 3.0. There is a version out there for ICS (I use it all the time), but there is no wifi calling for JB.
What I will do is go back and look on my archive of info and see if I can find a wifi calling add-on that works with ILWT

**UPDATE** added the file I have might work.
Will pay someone to help me UNDERSTAND and fix this issue I have.
I have ATT HTC ONE M8 - S-OFF, CID 1111111
I have successfully used all Sense ROMs. But if I flash ANY AOSP ROM I have no WIFI whatsoever. It connects sometimes and drops right off. I can't use any non-Sense ROMs because of this and I am starting to get PO-ed.
Please help, reward in it.
I was told that wifi is like this because of HTC having a closed source wifi driver. Regular unsecured networks you should be able to connect to, but secured connections you'll have to be extremely close to the router to connect. Frustrating, I know.

Yes, that information is all I have been able to uncover actually. But I dont understand how its not really a big deal for anyone else? Haha.
I mean all these people seem to be using these AOSP ROMs....but I am the only one who seems to care that I have absolutely no wifi sitting on my couch at home?
Strange that people are just 'dealing'
Anyway - thanks

It is and has been a big deal for others. You can see this in pretty much every AOSP thread we have here. Only a few of you guys are experiencing no wifi at all. There's only a couple of options that can be done next to "just dealing" which is digging into the code and trying to fix it or using a non AOSP based ROM.
Try this if you want and test your wifi and let me know if it's any better.

If I got great 4G signal here at work I probably wouldn't mind as much about not being able to connect to the network here where you have to log in to use the free WiFi. I can never get to the acceptance page. Since there is free WiFi here I might as well use it but I can't. CarbonROM seems to be PERFECT aside from the WiFi issue plaguing all AOSP ROMs at the moment.
I just hope that someone can confirm that it is an issue that is being looked into. I'm a little curious as to why HTC would lock down its WiFi drivers...
I have had the same problem as you on all AOSP roms except Liquidsmooth. I flashed liquidsmooth beta (from the HTC m8 original thread) and wifi worked while it didn't on all of the others. The most current one is running on 4.4.3 and that may have something to do with it. I really want to flash Paranoid but Im waiting on 4.4.3. Liquidsmooth is a very stable rom if you want to check it out. I saw on a PA Google+ post that the 4.4.3 update may help fix this issue so I would wait... Although, I could be wrong
I hope that it gets resolved soon. I am so sick of using Sense. In fact, I hate all stock interpretations of Android. AOSP or die.

Have you tried playing with the WIFi module? If it is working on one, then you should be able to use it's WIFI module on another. If you aren't getting any wifi at all, well that sounds like a kernel module issue to me.
What kernel are you using?
My problem isn't connecting to WiFi, I can do that just fine. I haven't tried connecting to a secure password-protected network yet, but "Guest" access points I can't get to the page where you accept the terms of use unless I'm a few feet from the router. I don't know of any ROM that has allowed me to connect farther away from it yet. All the ROMs I have tried seem to let me use unsecured access points with no problem.
On AOSP ROMs I've tried the included Kernel baked into the ROM and Excaliber 0.3.
On Sense I'm on Faux.
