Hi!!
I just wanted to ask if I have to be first root on my note II in order to install CyanogenMod, that's right?
can I install CyanogenMod rom on my note II without being root?
Cheers.

Yes you need root and a custom recovery

Check out www.galaxynote2root.com for all the info you need on rooting, flashing and recovery programs I have heard this rom can be a little unstable but have not yet tried it. I use WanamLite rom and love it, very close to stock with more benefits and very stable

Read the CM10.1 nightly thread, it has instructions.
Hi,
Just wanted to ask if cyanogenmod is stable enough for my Note II. I am looking for a stable rom... the closest one to the stock because I would not like to get a stone as phone...
Is WanamLite working properly?
Regards and thanks!
I tested both roms for same time, both very stable. However my opnion is that if you want a rom very similar to stock what is the fun? Nothing new to play around.
I'm using now Moon v8, a lot of features, good battery and no issue so far.

Well, sure - I'll have fun installing a rom and all that stuff but I had an iphone and I got tired saving everything before jailbreaking and then install everything.. when a new version was released the cycle again... so I'd like to have a phone with cyanogenmod o whatever mod rom but I don't want to change rom every time... at least I don't want to save my pictures and do a list of apps to download after installing a new rom because last one was unstable.... you know what I mean? I hate Samsung stock.. but works fine.. I think...
Thanks.

Yes, but i want the new update too. where can i find the ROM includes this and can i flash it over the existent rom?
Read and search man, all the info is there. There is uncountable guides about how to root an un-root and why and what it does. Just make some search you will find all you need. No need to start a thread for this.

how is the latest kitkat for note 2? im on 4.1.2 is it worth the upgrade? if so which version? thanks
What? You Need to be more descriptive. The Note 2 doesn't have official Kit Kat so im assuming you mean AOSP or CM based? If that's what you are looking for best thing to do is flash away or read the ROM thread. Latest official update is 4.3 not 4.4...
Ps: The title should have some correlation to the question at hand.

There is no "best rom" you just continue to flash until you find one you like and THAT is the "best rom" out there

Look in the Original Android Dev section. Pick a ROM and read the flashing instructions on their OP. Then you will have your 4.4 rom. Just know its not official. Its AOSP or CM based.

And "don't" take the official update to 4.3...
It "will" lock your bootloader...and void your warranty if you root the official 4.3...
If you don't care about warranty...then upgrader beware....g

Anytime you fool with your phone beyond using stock tools and apps you void your warranty.
I'm looking to buy a 2014 10.1 and something caught my attention and was curious about it. I have a s4 running 4.3 android and thanks to Knox I cant put a custom recovery on it and have to use safestrap to use a custom rom essential wasting much space. Is that a issue with the tablet as well. Or is twrp/clockwork able to be used?

Of course you can flash a custom recovery and custom roms, but it cant be done without triggering knox. Flashing the rom itself is harmless, its the flashing of a custom recovery that triggers knox. So if you can live with that just go a head and flash, if not.... then dont.
Good luck
Ok thanks for the clarification the knox part is still kind of new to me. Tw is a little heavy just wanted to make sure I had the option to run an aosp rom down the line.

no problem, just glad to help. You can flash an AOSP rom, as soon as we get one.

thanks in advanced:good:
CWM and TWRP both work but with kitkat roms personally I've had better luck with TWRP (using 2.7.0.0).
Alright thanks let me back up my phone text and let the rooting begin...
