Hi!!
I just wanted to ask if I have to be first root on my note II in order to install CyanogenMod, that's right?
can I install CyanogenMod rom on my note II without being root?
Cheers.
J.
Yes you need root and a custom recovery

Check out www.galaxynote2root.com for all the info you need on rooting, flashing and recovery programs I have heard this rom can be a little unstable but have not yet tried it. I use WanamLite rom and love it, very close to stock with more benefits and very stable

Read the CM10.1 nightly thread, it has instructions.
Hi,
Just wanted to ask if cyanogenmod is stable enough for my Note II. I am looking for a stable rom... the closest one to the stock because I would not like to get a stone as phone...
Is WanamLite working properly?
Regards and thanks!
I tested both roms for same time, both very stable. However my opnion is that if you want a rom very similar to stock what is the fun? Nothing new to play around.
I'm using now Moon v8, a lot of features, good battery and no issue so far.

Well, sure - I'll have fun installing a rom and all that stuff but I had an iphone and I got tired saving everything before jailbreaking and then install everything.. when a new version was released the cycle again... so I'd like to have a phone with cyanogenmod o whatever mod rom but I don't want to change rom every time... at least I don't want to save my pictures and do a list of apps to download after installing a new rom because last one was unstable.... you know what I mean? I hate Samsung stock.. but works fine.. I think...
Thanks.

HI,
I installed OMEGA ROM V12 and loved every bit of it.
this was my first time rooting and flashing all by myself.
everything went smoothly, but samsung apps store and SNOTE was missing, i re installed Samsung apps from an apk that i found on 4shared, but
when i tried to do the same for SNOTE , it installs fine, but doesnt launch,
I am using
Samsung Galaxy Note 2, N7100
i am running Omega v12.
i used Odin 1.85 to root my fone with clockwork recovery
I have not installed any kernel by myself, if the kernel was changed during rooting process i am not aware of that, or if the kernel was changed during flashing OMEGA ROM, i dont kno.
I am sorry i am new to this,
If you could give me an apk or tell me how to get it back, i would be really grateful,
I have to use Snote for my work, and today i am not able to work, but i love your ROM and want to use it,
Please let me kno if it is possible to install any stable version of SNOTE on my phone.
Kernel version : 3.0.31-679347 [email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT MON FEB 04
PLEASE HELP
ANY STABLE VERSION of SNOTE WOULD BE FINE

Hello i have a T989 SGS2 and i want to install a great rom on it i was hoping to install the S4 rom on to it but i cant seem to find it, which is ok if its not out there yet or cant be done (As i read something saying the s4 rom cant be put on the s2) i was wondering what rom is recommended for the s2 im really looking to use the latest s-voice if i can i didnt know if it comes on a rom already or if i can install it using an apk file any tips and or help i am greatful for and want to say thank in advance.
Definitely don't flash an S4 rom! If u need Wi-Fi callng, u need one of the stock based 4.1.2 roms; jellybeast, infamous, jedi mind trick jb for example. If u don't, then many good choices.

Check out the roms in the development thread. As far as s voice you can find the apk and install if you want. And no you can't install a s4 rom on the s2 or any other rom for that matter that is not compatible. The only other roms that work on this phone are the s2 skyrocket roms and with those you need the rotation fix for the sensors to function properly.
Best to go thru dev section & look at different features, screenshots, etc. Try different ones out & see what u like. U can always switch around.

So the 4.2.2 PACMAN v2201 wont support wifi calling? how do i know what is a stock rom and what is not?
sorry for all the questions but i gotta learn somehow right?
Pacman, or any AOSP rom does not have Wi-Fi calling. Stock will say it is based on stock jellybean in description.

Well, I am a total newb at this as well, as I just flashed my first ROM this week. I needed wifi calling as well, and I decided on the jellybeast rom. It looked cool, but also the dev was giving alot of support in the forum, so I knew he would help me if needed. Anyway, everything went smooth by just following his directions, and I could not be happier now with my phone. That rom is super smooth and fast and very stable. Good luck.
Hi, i'm new to this phone. I wan't the best performance and usability.

Yes, but i want the new update too. where can i find the ROM includes this and can i flash it over the existent rom?
Read and search man, all the info is there. There is uncountable guides about how to root an un-root and why and what it does. Just make some search you will find all you need. No need to start a thread for this.

After trying all of the available ROMs for att on the mini tab side I could never get camera to work. But over on the international forum xperical has finished this mod and it turns your ROM into a mini tab ROM..he says in op that he doesn't care who uses it its free to anyone so I thought I would post a link to it so that others who want this type of setup can get it..follow his steps and it works perfect. I did have to use exposed apps to get camera to fit properly on this dpi setting but it works perfectly....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246488
I too can confirm this working on ATT i317.
Grilleld has a nice rom as well.

I'll try to DMC3 ULTIMATE N7105 ROM for I317 variants ... I'll let you know as I was ...
Xperiacle has said on his thread that roms that's are heavily modified can have difficulties using this mod. so people trying this on jedi roms will run into trouble. Close to stock as possible will have the best results in getting success.

I ended up flashing stock UCAMC3 rom then flashing the xperiacle mod. Other than that the rom made by Grilleld works perfect in tablet mode
Im running skynote 9.3 and the zip file creates bootloop. I know it says it doesn't work well with heavily modded roms but I tried it anyways.

First rom i tried was jedi and of course it was a no go...xperical states in op stay as stock as possible...I used nunhungers att stock rom, modem and boot image and it was flawless. I have sense flashed moon rom from the ni705 forum and all I can say is wow...there is a patched version for our devices on the second page of development forum over there ...its the first version but its still awesome. .the newest version is still being ported for us...I love this rom though..all works except power menu- 4way reboot..
I have a rom called MultiROM based off this mod in the Verizon Note 2 android development section...feel free to port it or flash with a carrier patch...but I havent tested it on any other carrier

Hi,
I'm really new to this whole Android phone thing. I understand almost nothing, including different abbreviations (like cm, what does that stand for?)
So I apologize if I'm asking something that's already written in some newbie guide, I'd love it if someone could refer me to such a guide.
I have some newbie questions:
I've bought a new S4 mini, and I want to install Cyanogen, but I could only find Nightly or RC versions of it, is there a stable version somewhere?
Do I need to install CWM? Or is there another way to root my device without having to install CWM? I want to install as less applications as possible. Unless you guys tell me that installing CWM is a good idea.
You need CWM (aka CWMR for ClockWork Mod Recovery) to flash CM (CyanogenMod, sometimes Cyanogen for short), which currently only has nightlies and RCs for the S4 Mini LTE model only.
The model number for the LTE variant is GT-I9195.
There is also a test release for the international 3G variant (GT-I9190).
There is none for the Dual-sim variant, GT-I9192.
Thanks a lot! Is the RC version of cm "safe"? I don't want to start dealing with dev issues, I just want a comfortable phone to use.
Maybe it's better to install the debloat rom instead of an unstable cm version?
The debloated rom has its fair share of issues. It's a matter of personal preference actually.
I prefer having CM and it's working fine for me on the latest nightly. No pressing issues.

So if I just want to remove unneeded apps (which are consuming CPU / RAM) then maybe the best option for me is to just root my device and remove any app I don't want?
Oh and another question: in a different thread someone recommended wiping /data and /cache, how do I do this? By using ClockworkMod?
Yes and yes.
Removing unneeded apps is also known as debloating. Those unneeded apps are known as bloat ware.
There are explicit options within CWM to wipe data and cache.
I'm newbie in Samsung too, also want to ask which one CWM for stock kernel/Rom? I'm using S4 Mini LTE (GT-I9195). Thanks in Advanced.

That is truly odd. I have no issues with downloading Candy Crush Saga on my phone here in Singapore.
Perhaps its a region lock?
