Phone: HTC ONE V (Virgin Mobile, CDMA)
Radio: 1.00.00.0928
Recovery: TWRP 2.2.0
ROM: myOne 9.5
Hi! I'm having a very frustrating issue wherein my phone randomly restarts after booting it up. I installed the myOne 9.5 ROM and it worked fine. But then I tried to install a CM9 ROM and it started doing the restarting. After a few times of this it did actually boot, and seemed to be working, but restarted after probably 30 seconds and just kept doing that. So I tried to switch back to the myOne ROM, but it did the same thing. So instead I tried flashing a stock ROM and kernel. No dice. Same thing.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here or how to get it working again. When I flash the ROMs I follow this order: wipe Dalvik, cache, system, factory reset, flash ROM, reboot to fastboot, flash boot image.
Should I be doing something differently? Thank you for listening and any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Your problem is your radio. You need either to run the ruu for your carrier, which is what I had to do, or puck a Rom with ota support. I know that there are a few in the development thread that are confirmed working.

i don't think that it is the radio, because the ROM I was using worked just fine before I tried flashing the other one.
When you flashed myone, it is a sense kernel....they just added support for ota yesterday. Rhythmic Rom should work as well and may save toy from even needing to run ruu.

Thank you both for the help. You were right, it was the radio. For any other noob who finds this thread with the same problem AND the same phone (make sure you don't use this file if you're GSM): I fixed the problem by relocking the bootloader and running the RUU (search for: RUU_PRIMO_C_ICS_40A_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.08.652.6_Radio _1.00.00.0521_2_NV_VM_3.46_0503_PRL61008_release_2 62414_signed.exe)
This got me back to stock and reverted the radio to an older version that is compatible with most of the ROMs.
Again, thanks everyone for the help.
Great job.....now have fun!

I have a CDMA Virgin Mobile HTC One V. I decided to root it yesterday to get a jelly bean mod. Well things didn't work out so well.I used Hasoon2000's all in one kit, unlocked my bootloader and recovery(TWRP CDMA 2.1.0) then proceeded to try 4 different ROMs and Kernels (PACman, CM10, CM9, AOKP) and they all booted perfectly. After the boot though, the phone will work perfectly for approx. 10 seconds and then freeze and reboot. . Please help.
You most likely have the new radio, install the old RUU(the one with Sprint in the name) to get the old radio version. Then you'll be able to install ROMs and kernels.
Sounds just like what riggerman0421 said http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2013489&highlight=ota
just factory reset from bootloader.

My HTC One V is a PrimoC (CDMA) on Virgin Mobile, running Android 4.0.4, running JmzPrimoC+ Kernel, as the one provided in the download seemed to fail.
I have just installed the ROM maybe an hour ago, and decided to setup my WiFi in order to get most of my applications I have on my Play account back onto my phone. But once I went to enable the WiFi Manager, it did nothing but output "Turning on..." and then just went back to normal, like it was never enabled/attempted to be.
Would there be a possible solution for this? I'd love to know because I really depend on WiFi for my job, otherwise I'm going to find another ROM.
If you go to jmz's site, androidfiles, the link is in his kernel op, there is an ICS sense update package. It has flash able modules inside it. Sounds like you are missing that, and once you flash the zip and reboot into fast boot and flash the kernel, you should have WiFi. Sorry I'm on my phone I can't give you the link.

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll go ahead and check that out sometime later whenever I can flash 2 other ROMs to my ONe V's.
Just remember, if you go aosp based ICS ROM, use Simons super sick ICS. If you go jb ROM, use his supersick jb. I personally think the 12-30 kernel is the most stable so far.

i just tried this and am having problems with the wifi, any chance anyone can post a link to the update?
As the title says I made a nandroid of the tmob jb. It boots up in to all the setup sceens but the option to choose network on the first setup screen is not there. WiFi error and stuck in airplane mode. I can flash all other custom roms even the stock jb with boot image and recovery they work perfectly. I have tried the nandroid of the tmob one posted on xda still same problem. I like custom roms but would like to be able to flash the tmob one in case of repair. Any help much appreciated

Did you flash the correct boot.img (from the nandroid you tried to restore) ?
And you can always go back to stock when they release the right ruu for you. (If they do )
Yes used the boot img from nandroid. Just very peculiar as there is no radio but all other custom roms work fine. Yes the ruu could solve it like you say when ever they do.
Thanks for quick reply

Hi my wife has a One V with stock everything. It keeps freezing up and takes up to 1 minute just to open a new text message.
The phone has never been rooted or modified in any way.
I tried rebooting it, doesn't change anything. She does not have many apps installed at all from the market, maybe 1 or 2.
The way I fixed it last time was back up all of her sms and call log and setting and I did a factory reset.
This solved the problem but the phone was slowing getting worse and worse and now it is almost impossible to use it.
Is this a know issue? Is there an easy fix for it? Or maybe the only option is to root and install a custom rom for her.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
I do indeed give you the advice to install a custom rom. This is a known issue with the stock rom.

Great I had a feeling it was ROM related. Since I have no experience with One V, can anyone suggest a good how to guide to unlocking boot loader, and rooting, and installing CWMR on this phone. Every device is different so it is like leaning all over again for each phone.
oh yeah any rom suggestions? Not sure if I should give her a stock based sense rom or AOSP / CM. Personally I love AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2 on my S2 because I hate Samsung bloat on my phone.
thanks alot.
Personally I would recommend 4.1 or 4.2 depends if she needs the functions that are still missing from 4.2 (biggest one being camera I think) if she wants sense I recommend suprimo. As for a guide, there are some as a sticky in one of the sub forums (I think their in general)

I suggest you look for provision or pacman 19.3 in cdma (from what I can assume your CDMA) they have 5mp camera which is what the stock camera has. Note: the difference for flashing between a Samsung s2 and our device is we have to take the boot.img from the ROM.zip we DL and flash it in fast boot (thing before you enter recovery) after we flash the .zip in recovery
I recommend twrp recovery also because i find it easier to navigate
ONE MORE THING:
Power + down vol to get to fast boot and tell us what radio you have.
IF it ends in .0928 your going to get boot loops if you flash a JB ROM simple fix I'll tell you if it does because it is a complex process.
However if our radio ends in anything else you should be fine (htc had an ota that upgraded radio and it fked things up).

I've never been very tech-y with this stuff, and now I'm having problems with mine. I don't understand the ROMs or anything. I don't want to void the warranty or anything.
Well assuming the rules here. You can't install a rom here. Because for that you have to unlock the bootloader and doing that voids the warranty.

Flashing custom ROM is the only solution...

Hi guys,as the title says i cannot flah rom.
Well i can flash them but every rom has problem,I tried PAC,CM,SlimBean nothing work(or if it works,no more than one day or 2)
CM gives me MD5 errors, slimBean UI keep crashing,PAC every time i try to flash something in recovery(after flashing the rom)keep rebooting and stays on loop.
I know i mentioned specific roms and whatnot but at this time i don't think it's rom related(or recovery,i tried 3 different recovery),the only thing working flawlessly is the stock rom with root.
You guys have some advice? i've had the phone for about 5 months now and i wanted to try out roms but apparently i can't.
Cheers
Dave
Did you wipe everything when you flash new ROM?

the first time with CM no because i followed a guide which didn't.
But with PAC and SlimBean yeah i wiped everything.
The first time with PAC recovery went bad(i guess)and didn't let me wipe or flash anything,i flashed a stock tft repeated the process, the flash worked but as i reboot and tried to flash the on screen button it gave me the same recovery error.
maybe i do something wrong,i came from an HTC desire HD and the whole process was easier and less problematic
Fastboot the opensemc kernel beta2 kernel and then try again. Some people were having problems with flashing and Rayman has fixed it in his kernel apparently
