Dude, don't mix the camera resolution with display resolution. The display is a QVGA display ie 240*320 pixels screen. The 1.3MP(Mega Pixel) is 1280x1050(somewhat). Also a 8MP camera can take 1280x1050 pixels pics.

APP-11 June 2010 - Magic Poker - Fun new free app

I've created this thread for a friend of mine "Jonathan" as he's developed an app for WP7. He has also ported it over to the Android and is currently working on the same for WM6.5! It's a Magic app that is pretty cool. Check it out and if you have an Android phone or WP7 emulator, be sure to load it up and try to find out how it works. Send your guess's to him if you think you know his tricks. Have fun! Thanks again Jonathan. See below..
I developed the app on windows phone 7. The Android app is the same as the WP7.
Here is the video below.
http://www.youtube.com/v/AUCgcq-Ps_U&hl=en_US&fs=1&
Now the android version is on android market as a free app. It's now v2.0, and tested well on 2.1 & 2.2. Not sure about 1.6 & 2.0, but seems can't work on 1.5. The secret of the trick is hidden inside the app, maybe you can guess by yourself how the trick works or try to find the solution somewhere in the app.
Hope you guys will like it and wish you have fun! Thanks!
i guess he is using the capabilties of the microphone to record what cards they are mentioning, since they are saying what cards they have.

I thought so too, but he specifically mentions he's not using a microphone (or actually, he says he uses only the emulator / mouse).
I think it has to do with where you click on the screen:
If you divide the screen into 4 columns (hearts diamonds spades clubs) and 13 rows (1-10, J Q K) you have a 'roster' on which you can click the correct card.
Note that he doesn't click straight away, he first moves the mouse for a few seconds (which looks to be pretty precise)

The place where I click on the screen really matters. But devide it into so many parts is hard for me to control.
Maybe the video is not very clear about all the things, you can check some screenshots here.

I'm also keen to know if it will work with the HTC one

No, I bought both Medias phone and GB-6900 finally.
It is not stable as I expected and the function is limited compare to MBW-150.
i think it could work with and bluetooth v4.0 phone if...
I have the gb-6900 bluetooth watch (i live in usa)
my galaxy s3 is rooted and i have the g-shock app but the bluetooth section doesnt show up cuz
the only phones that work with it are
1. MEDIAS PP N-01D
2. MEDIAS LTE N-04D
3. AU smartphone "IS series" MEDIAS CH softbank 101n
But for some reason they go on to tell you they recommend your device info be as such..
1. Andriod OS 2.3.1 or higher
2. Screen size (resolution) HD (720 x 1280 pixels) and WVGA (480 x 800 pixels)
as if they kinda made it for other phones they just put a little lock on it or something temporarly.
i know that the root wifi tether app can change the model of your phone to look like another phone
so is there and app that i can trick the gshock app to think its one of those phones so i can unlock the bluetooth secetion to my g-shock app so i can use my g-shock watch i have with my galaxy s3
and if not can someone plz make a way!!! PLZZZ
or take the apk file and play with it in virtual box and take what ever code out that block the bluetooth section for showing up

this is a video on how to change your build prop
the reason i post this is because i think if you change your build prop to one of the phone's i listed above the bluetooth section of the gshock app might open on american phone's or others like the gs3! which means the watch would work with our american phone!!!
aka my dream come true!
the problem is what is the build prop name of the phone!?
does anyone have anyway of finding out what id write or have a way to get a hold of one of those build prop it would be greatly appreciated!!!

dude there is no bluetooth 4.0 api in android, not in 4.1 yet, that is why the watch doesn't work and why the app doesnt show up the section. Galaxy s2, s3, galaxy nexus, new htc's and droid razr all have BT 4.0 capability, androud is he limitation atm
Thanks a lot. I found that out a little while ago tho

Where did you get the app? I have htc one x.... Cant get the app
I just got the watch..
about the software you can get it from the Japanese Google market by just searching "g shock"
I installed it on my phone but since my BT is 3.0 i can't use it until i buy a new phone..
i guess the software is for GB 5600 but it's the same for us
"u need market enabler or other software like that to access the Japanese market"
U nwed market enabler

I tried the watch with note 2, but it didn't connect, it didn't see it at all !
later I tried it with iPhone 5 and again the same thing, it didn't see it at all!
I tried the Bluetooth scanner with the note 2 so it showed it only but it can't pair with it.
after searching Japanese sites .. i found out that the problem is the missing Bluetooth supported profiles in our phones, so even if the BT is version 4.0 it needs to have these profiles..
FMP Find Me Profile 1.0
PASP Phone Alert Status Profile 1.0
TIP Time Profile 1.0
ANP Alert Notification Profile 1.0
PXP Proximity Profile 1.0
So Casio made some NEC Casio Medias phones with these profiles in it specially to connect to the watch.
So If anyone with more knowledge on this matter can clarify how can we add these profiles to note 2 for example ? maybe a new rom already has it ..any suggestions ?
thanks guys

[MODS] Build.prop [UI FPS, DEBUG NFC/SE, QTAGUID, PWRMODE, HWACCEL]

I was developing on another T3 device and come across some things that might come in handy for the one x specifically build.prop.
Within build.prop I found this:
debug.nfc.fw_download : Currently set to false but can be enabled by setting to true
debug.nfc.se: Set to false, debugging, to do with tegra3 built in security engine (se)
media.tegra.max.out.channels: ?

Just so you know, changing this to 0 breaks the camera. No idea what it actually does though
I added everything else in your first post to my build.prop and all that seemed to change was that my quadrant score dropped by about 700 (4900 or so, to 4200). Actual phone speed didn't seem to drop, but I'll have a play around with them some more and see what happens

The "persist.says.NV_FPSLIMIT" works nicely! Set it to 10 or so to make the UI almost unusable! Only works for the phone UI though, doesn't alter application fps.
Not sure how to measure how fast it can go though.

Consider the fact that upping UI FPS from 30 to 60 doubles the GPU workload and results in battery hit.
this value definitely works in controlling the launcher FPS
persist.sys.NV_FPSLIMIT = 60
however the line is not there by default, so it might be already 60fps default
placing the file with low value will cap the FPS
Shaky any idea how to force Tegra full quad performance mode?

Requires WiFi direct and compatible, powerful enough hardware (Snapdragon S4 and beyond). That means no love for us.

WiFi Direct have not hardware limitations, it limited only by sertification of devices. And Xperia S is not sertificated only because of Sony. I currently investigating how to port and enable WiFi Direct and screen mirriring for Xperia S for month. The problem is that qualcomm has not released wifi drivers with p2p functionality for S3 processor which we have. BUT on test firmware of HTC Sensation WiFi Direct seen working, and i currently searching for files in that ROM which i must copy. If anyone could help - try to find what files, drivers, libs etc. are needed to setup this features.

Why do you think so? If WiFi Direct have no such limitations, and Screen Mirroring which working over WiFi Direct, why it should have such limitations. It is open source technologies, but it is very strange open source - i couldn't find any sources on the web. So it's up to us to find how it work.
I investigated that there is only one device in the world wits Snapdragon S3 8260 which have WiFi Direct in official firmware - it is Asus Eee Pad MEmO 171. i have it's firmware, but it is in raw disk image formate and it didn't opening in any utility. Could someone help? link to firmware 625 Mb

Because S3 isn't powerful to run it without problems. It's like: you have an Ferrari with all of their goodies, but a VW Fox engine and put it to race against other normal Ferraris. It will go? Yes, but won't win.

Third party camera app until HTC tweaks their firmware?

I'm curious what you guys think. I've never used a 3rd party camera app, so I have no idea if they're even worth it.
Discuss . . .

I don't think that is necessary given the tweaks that are producing good results: capping ISO 200, knocking sharpness down - 1.5 and using medium resolution.
ISO Cap

Sorry if this question sounds dumb, but you can either select ISO 200 from the settings screen or from going into manual mode and setting it to 200. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this take every photo at exactly ISO 200?
How do you "cap" it meaning to allow the camera to select a lower ISO if necessary, but not to exceed 200? DSLRs will do this by selecting auto ISO with a 200 cap, or 400, 800, etc. Am I missing something or are you referring to simply setting the ISO to 200? I saw no setting of "auto with a cap".
Whilst waiting for the next OTA for my HIMA, I spent $3 for DSLR CAMERA PRO from Play Store, and it is giving +15% over the current state of stock camera though..

I will give that app a try. I've also been using Camera FV-5 and by the way, Flavio, the developer of that app says the next update will add the ability to save to an external SD card.
The XDA settings seem to help using the stock camera app. I guess it remains to be seen how much, if any, HTC can do with this sensor via software updates.
You're right.. even increasing all by 0.5 makes a huge impact..

I notice you have sharpness set to a +0.5. I thought the XDA recommendation was to set sharpness at a -1 or -1.5?

Yes, your picture was fine. I guess I'll just play around with sharpness a little to see what I like best. Thanks for your help.

And about that cap. Can you create a max 200 iso or not ?
Bumping because I'm stuck with an app for this "fine" phone.
I'm sorry but it's the only relevant thread about this problem.
