Noticable improvements from Baseband Upgrade? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am thinking of flashing my Modem from the ALJ2 to AMA4. Is there a noticeable difference in performance?

Where do you get the lateset baseband driver? Mine seems to be capped at 14 meg per second despite I am right by the Los Angeles city.

Well...
Try the UCAMC3 modem...It just came out a week or so ago...and did give me an improvement in signal...see below...g
Edit: you should be running the UCAMA4 rom to use this upgrade, as you need the updated RIL files to match the radio image....IMHO

No one can ever tell you this unless you try it.

[Q] Am I running stock kernel?

So I flashed JB twice, originally one of the early roms that were quickly developed 'Vicious Toro jelly bean', then secondly what was advertised as stock with just wifi, gps fixes based off the stock developer build.
The kernel version reads "3.0.31-ge8de0e2 [email protected]) #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 19 11:26:52 PDT 2012"
Is this the stock kernel version?
I can say that jelly bean is nearly perfect in my eyes, speed and small ui tweaks have been huge improvements. With the exception of My Verizon somehow getting sent down, all the vzw bloatware is gone, and for this simple reason I may not take the ota when it comes available.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Well it doesn't matter, as you'll not be able to accept the OTA because there won't be a CDMA OTA to the software you're running. Effectively, you have a GSM ROM but with all of the CDMA radio parts from 4.0.4... which just isn't a combination that is going to be targeted for an OTA because it doesn't exist in the pathways.
Thanks again for the info. I try to run stock as often as I can, and only take advantage of leaked builds and such.
I know I'd have to flash back to vzw 4.04 to get the ota, which I likely would have done if this build wasn't so raw even though the build revision will likely be newer whenever vzw releases jb. Anyway thanks again.

[Q] best baseband for WIND galaxy nexus jelly bean

Hi
Upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 using Wugfresh's excellent Toolkit.
Stock baseband that came with the Wind GNex was Android 4.1.1 running UGLH1. After upgrading to 4.1.2 Stock Yakju build, the baseband changes to XXFL1 - which i assume is the same version as ICS.
So far seems reception is fine. Mostly in Toronto North York area I receive 3 bars signal and switching frequently between 3g/HSPA+.
Wondering from fellow Canadian WIND / AWS users if they have experienced any issues using XXFL1 radio baseband on Jelly bean 4.1 or what the best radio to flash is ?
cheers
Mike

[Q] Baseband Confusion (New to TMobile)

Just switched one of my phones to TMobile GS3. The phone is already rooted running baseband T999UVDLJC. Is this the latest modem available for our phones? Does this also mean I can only flash ROMS that state T999UVDLJC in the thread title?

LJC is the latest build version
Yes, your modem is up to date.
No, you don't HAVE to flash ROMs that state LJC because the LJC ROM threads are normally based off stock TW. You can go with an AOSP ROM running on later android builds so long as you flash ROMs specifically only for the T999 (d2tmo).
So if you like TW look for LJC based ROM threads. If you want the latest and greatest android builds go with an AOSP ROM.

Verizon Note II on T-Mobile, no WiFi on T-Mobile ROMs

I have a Verizon Note II that I have switched over to T-Mobile. Everything works perfectly, except when I flash a T-Mobile ROM, WiFi does not work.
I have tried JediX and a couple others. I never did the official 4.3 Verizon Update.
Can anybody help me get WiFi (and WiFi calling) working?
Thanks!
What ROM and kernel is your phone currently on ?

Right now I am running
PACMAN ROM Build Number: pac_i605-userdebug 4.3.1 JLS36I eng.root.20131226.100804 test-keys
Kernel Version: 3.064-CM-g9d16c8a
Baseband Version: i605CRAMC3
Everything works, with the exception of T-Mobile WiFi calling, which is not in this AOKP based ROM. This is what I was running when the phone was still on Verizon... I am able to put in the T-Mobile SIM and the APNs pop up, giving me H+, 3G, etc.
I tried flashing
ConchRepublicEdition2s
GE-Wiz_Release-8
JediMasterX2
All three of those flash and run fine, but WiFi is completely borked (try to enable it, and the slider goes immediately back to OFF)
I am OK with running 4.1 instead of 4.3 if that gets the WiFi calling working.
Thanks!
With Jedi MasterX2 installed:
Android Version: 4.3
Baseband Version: I605VRAMC3
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-2085660 [email protected] #1 Tue Nov 19 16:53:20 KST 2013

best option is to flash the vzw 4.3 modem/firmware via odin first and then jedi x2 will work just fine. thats what i did and everything works for me except i havent been able to unlock the LTE baseband yet, scratching my noggin on that one
As an update to anyone who may be watching this thread, I got it to work by installing Jedi Master 18.
Verizon Note II (i605) now works with T-Mobile SIM and WiFi calling.

Telus Radios

Any of my fellow Canadians have a good radio for Telus? My signal is real flaky since they rolled out the last update.I'm running Skynote Air 4.3. Thanks.
G
You didn't say which modem you were on, but here are all three four radios released at this point. There should be a new one soon for the KitKat update.
I317MVLALJ2 - 4.1.1 initial release
I317MVLBMA3 - 4.1.2 BMA3 update
I317MVLUCMK5 - 4.3 CMK5 update
I317MVLUDNF1 - 4.4.2 DNF1 update
Quick questions: when you say flaky, do you mean it loses signal for ~10-30 seconds then reconnects as if nothing happened? Which bootloader are you on?

Thanks for the response. I'm still on 4.1.2 Bootloader. Places I used to get signal, I no longer do. Can't even make calls in those locales. Think this has to do with the recent update from Telus I think. I've flashed the new Skynote Air Note3 and the modem is 1317MVLUCMK5.
