I think it's a fair question, to a point. While you never know what you will like until you try it (or something similar), it's worth noting that there don't seem to be a lot of roms for this phone. I just tried an AOKP from XDA and it was great - until my phone started randomly going to a black screen and never coming back without a reboot. THAT is the kind of answer I think you're looking for, or perhaps the inverse (i.e. which roms have people used without issues like lag, crashes, etc.).
I'm still looking.

LS970 Bad wifi on custom roms...?

My LG Optimus G had a bad start ever aince day one. I love this guy but he gives me headaches at times. Anyhow, before I bricked it in the beginning, truth be told this thing sucked. Videos would play and stop with "buffering" every 15 seconds, website would load up slow, etc. I bricked it to the point where it will never be FULLY stock ever again. I flashed a few different roms like AOKP 4.2.2, etc. All roms I actually tried made wifi worse. AOKP actually had my wifi to one bar (really a dot) and really slow downloads. So I flashed the rom provided by AdriVelazquez here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178297 since stock was better than anything else, (again, NEVER CAN GO BACK TO FULLY STOCK) and believe it or not this rom has actually made this thing better than any other rom and the original factory stock ZVB i had before. Downloads are fast, wifi bars are good, and the videos play without ever buffering!!! Now enough blabbering and to my point. Why is that? I would love to have different looks on my LS970. I mean sure the stock looks HD and all, but I'm constantly changing roms on every android I have. Does anyone else have a similar issue/issues when your on a different rom? Is there any other way to get it to work good while on another rom? This is just a informational post, not a "help me I think my device is dying post," so feel free to voice opinions. Thanks in advanced

Buddy you are in the wrong forum. This one here is for the international (e975) version. You should better ask people with same phone model, maybe there are some ppl with same issue.
Had no idea. Thanks alot I'll look for that section

[Q] CM Roms / Call Quality

Is anyone else experiencing an extremely muffled in call mic with CM roms? I have tried several different CM/CM based roms and all are doing the same thing. Both 4.3 and 4.4 roms. Wife started complaining that she couldn't hear me soon after I flashed a CM rom, so I left myself a voicemail, flashed back to a stock based rom, and left another voicemail. Difference is night and day. I have tried reflashing the stock radio over top of the CM flash, but no noticeable difference.
Anyone else experiencing this, or have any ideas on how to fix? This is very annoying, but not enough to make me give up Kit Kat. I usually just talk louder into the phone.
Are you on T-Mobile?

It's a known issue with no fix in sight. What's worse is using the speakerphone. There's a huge amount of ocho.
After struggling with this device for some weeks, I finally sold it, and honestly, do regret that. Even with stock ROM, it was a great value for the money, but I'm sorta hoping for something similar in the future.
IF the LGOG Pro had an unlocked bootloader and was as fully supported and functional as other devices by CM/AOSP, it would probably have been the last device I ever bought until it literally could not power on anymore.
It's such a shame that LG has abandoned it the way that they have, but if you've ever wondered why LG is getting their ass handed to them in the smartphone market by Samdung, this lazy attitude toward supporting fantastic hardware is a good example to illustrate why.
Their solution is to simply leave the market and put their focus elsewhere.
So sad.
Where's the company that understands how powerfully they could position themselves in the market by being friendly with the Open Source community?
They don't exist.

Wanted: A solid KitKat ROM w/o all the bugs

I am trying to cut out all the hit and miss of picking blindly here., so please bear with me.
I am looking for a solid KitKat ROM that's not all buggy. Something fairly vanilla would be fine as I customize my setup (Xposed and such). I have tried to read through the various ROM threads but only end up with a headache with all the various issues posted by folks; I do understand that it may just be that one person having an issue but then again... it may not.
So, what ROMs have you all used that were solid and did not have to babysit 24/7 to make it work?
I've been using Sphinx rom for the longest time. It's a stock based rom. It gives me the best battery life of any rom I have every flashed on my g pro.

Flash back to stock jelly bean 4.1.2 the 10k version, flash custom jellybean kernal then install xposed or whatever i get a solid 2 days easy with atleast 4 hours screen time per charge.
Give PACE a shot, that stuff was solid for DAYSSS for me.
Everything else is always hit or miss for me.
PAC-ROM because three is better than one
Waka waka waka...
Btw, I want to win the lottery too, but it's about the same odd as getting a bug free ROM.

Hi there.
You have not specified which model G3 you have but either way the best custom ROM 5.1.1 (based on CM 12.1) at the moment is BlissPop and you can have more info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-blisspop-v2-0-ls990-t3022685
It is a an extremely stable ROM, with lots of Official releases for all G3 models, it comes supplied with LOADS of options to customize your phone the way you want it and it has many dedicated people helping others for support, including myself.
As far as options to custom it surely has lots more than stock ROMS. It is much fluid and smooth. And this goes for any AOSP ROM compared to plain stock.
As far as battery goes surely depends on usage but you can get with a few extra tweaks around 5 hours SOT and up to 2 days with little use.
Your phone will not be worth more in the market shall you want to resell it but you can always go back to stock anytime.
Rooting and flashing custom ROMS is way better than stock and more fun. There are risks involved but if you are careful and take the time to understand and read and learn first BEFORE doing something wrong you will be fine.
Hope this helps you.
*I rooted my phone the same day I bought it 6 months ago and been having lots of fun with it. Just take your time to read things and don't jump too quick into things and you will be fine.
Hope this helps and if I did please press the thanks button.

[Q] Am I overlooking things...?

Hey guys, I have a Sprint, SM-T807P (10.5" LTE/Snapdragon) version of the Tab S and I must say that I have been nothing short of impressed since the day I purchased it back in December. However, the one (major) downfall is that it seems 1 in 1000 Tab S owners actually have the 807P, which appears to be resulting in a virtual non-existent world of ROM's/custom kernels etc.
I was HOPING I am either over looking something, looking in the wrong location, or not aware of which other models may be compatible with mine.
I just Odin'd from DUH's KK ROM, to stock OE3 Lollipop, and was hoping to get re-rooted/CWR or TWRP installed and find myself a slick little ROM to install.
Is there any hope? lol Thanks in advance, ladies and gents!
Adding on to this. I bought the SM-T807P used (because it was a great deal) and I am only interested in running it through wifi. I dont need the LTE capability.
Somewhere I heard that some other Snapdragon roms will work, I'll just loose LTE functionality ... which is fine by me.
Does anyone have a list or can point me in the right direction for other roms that would work in wifi mode?
Or tell me which snapdragon roms will work?
It's already rooted and TWRP is installed. I'm just lacking in roms.
Thanks!

I'm sure @duh will gladly build an updated Rom for you guys if enough of you request it.
Maybe if you have enough knowledge you can build one for yourself and the other Sprint owners?

Did you ever receive any answers on this? I am in the same boat, I only have a gig or two of data on my Tab S, but have unlimited data on my Note 4, that's rooted+ROM'd, including the hotspot mod. So I could do without the LTE as well...
What exactly is it you are all expecting from a custom rom?
Practically all custom roms are simply debloated stock roms with maybe the odd extra thrown in.
There is nothing magic in a stock custom rom that you can't do yourself.

What I really want for my sweet little device is for someone to port over Cyanogenmod. Which is what I have been using for year.
cm is bad on tab s just prefer pac rom over it
