Thanks for the reply. So do i have to change the lcd only? Or the digitizer as well? Bcz touch screen is working as it should.

Before changing the screen you can try with some applications.
On the play store there are some applications meant to resolve this kind of issues, altought thery're useful when the pixel are struck on one color (red, green or blue): search for applications like pixel fixer and such.
A similar problem occoured to me (on a different device) and I improved the situation with this kind of app, but in the end I had to send back the device to HTC (my stain was four time bigger compared to your) which repaired the screen for free (the device was still under warranty)

[Q] Yellow Streak Not Spots

Hi Dudes,
I replaced my HTC One X today with a new one because the gsensor failed for some unknown reason. Anyway I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen. It almost looks like glue or a screen bleed, you can really see it on a white background or a grey background but also
Im unsure If i should see if it is glue and maybe it just needs to dry out by using the phone a lot for the next week or replacing it yet again.... Im starting to loose patience with the One X now.
Has anyone else had this green streak issue and is it normal?
Should I turn the brightness up to make for an hour and leave the screen running?
My old HTC Desire was more reliable than this....

Is it glue or something mate? Its odd.
Looks like everything else on the ONE X is working great now though. (touch wood)
Screen seems as excellent as ever. Just the yellow smear/streak.
Will leave it a few days and see what happens man.
in many discussion about this problem, peoples think that problem with glue.
And can appear when phone get hot.
not saw it on my phone when playing in terga games + charging in same time.
but my phone goes to me 2 week, may be glue well dried before was used

My phone heats up fine and no other yellow streaks appear (its not a spot but a streak). Its constantly there also. Will see how it goes in the next few days.
I ment to say that this yellow smear is allways on the screen but no more seem to appear when it heats up. I hope it goes away. Has anyone else had this small yellow smear issue on the screen?
I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen - It happends exactly the same to me , and what did i do was going back my phone today , and seller says that I don't believe it will disappear and gave me the new one , I'm happy with my new phone but it's grey , not beautiful white :/ , if u are able to return it , just go to return

yellow screen tint/spot FIX!

1) go to display settings and set sleep to never turn off and brightness to full
2) install 'dead pixel detect and fix' from market
3) open 'dead pixel detect and fix' select colors, custom then a nice bright yellow
4) once your screen is bright yellow put on charge and leave for the night
I'm unsure if this fixed my problem or just a coincidence that my screen got better over night anyway but I thought I would share to see if it helps anyone else.

It had been 2 days and is still good. I read up that a lot of one x's have the same problem, yellow smudges appears about 3 days after purchase but suppose to fade after about 2 weeks. So I don't think it will return this is just to speed things up a little.
I thought that it was due to hardware, but maybe not so much?
Well ill try to work on it for few days on full brightness, maybe it will reduce the glue grain, I noticed its on all one Xs they just vary in intensity
Sometimes pixels get stuck at a colour and flashing the area between different colours really fast can fix it.

Unfortunately my screen is yellow at the bottom and every pixel app I find has the menu bar there. What I did do though was leave chrome on the settings page and it did help to reduce it., however I've just been playing some fruit ninja. My phone got hot the touch screen stopped working correctly and the yellow is back worse than before
I am trying this now and will let it run overnight.
I currently have 2 yellow spots on the top of my screen. Hoping this will make them go away faster.

My yellow blobs was at the top of the screen, so the black menu bar at the bottom wasnt a concern for me. I am currently using tripndroids cm9 build that takes the black bar away and gives you full resolution use. Only attemp cm9 if your boot loader has allready been unlocked, so you can still replace your phone if things dont improve.
for anyone using cm9 they dont have the option to turn display sleep off completly, so i would recomend downloading an app callled 'screen on' that does the job from the market.
The yellow tint/spot isnt a hardware fault. It comes from poor manufacturing processing. If you squeeze hard on the edge of the screen for prolonged time, the yellow tint/spot appears. Once the pressure on the screen is normalized, the tint/spot will be gone. However, there is a chance that prolonged pressure will cause permanent damage, it is wise for you guys NOT to put your H1X into your jeans pocket!

That can be achieved by just clicking fix on the dead pixel app, when i attempted this for about 2 hours i never saw any changes as after just trying a constant yellow i instantly saw that my screen got brighter, whiter and the yellow smudges on top of my screen started to fade. I compare to my partners one x to check for improvements.
Any luck?

I do hope that this solution help you with that problem.. however there must be a reason why HTC help support keeping my HOX at their location , as far as I know they waiting for new battery as well as NEW LCD..according to that information must be smth wrong with LCD... (yellow dots of course)
So I need to switched back to my HP pre 3 for a while..
Hi i have the same problem with my HOX, my HOX is perfect except for the blue spot when i turn my screen brightness to full and use a black wallpaper you can see the blue spot, i dont know what i must to do because it is my second HOX and it took me 2 weeks to get a replacement unit from virgin if any body in here has experience with htc australia service centre please let me know thanks (i did try to use the app but no luck)

Alright -
I let it run for like 12 hours last night.
My yellow spots are about 75 percent gone!!!!
I am going to let it run again tonight and will give another update.
For those of you will yellow spots I would suggest giving this a shot. So far it seems to be working for me. Although I will keep an eye on it to see if it comes back or gets worse again.
Thanks!
any idea if this deals with the glue grain too?
I don't think the color really matters - what metters is that it is left alone AND getting warm.
I guess if you put a book on top of it while running a 3D game, 90% of the spots will be gone momentarily, but as soon as you start using it they will creep back because it is a lamination problem and not a screen problem...
And for those who claim their spots "disappeared" after a week - yes, they did disappear for me one day, but were back once I started using it heavily.
the spots problem will not appear for those who have a flawlessly fit screen
this is why i advice those with lamination issues to get rid of the phone, lamination issues = spots, uneven whites and chance of dust get in
Does anyone have any further evidence that this works? I've got a very light yellow haze/spot in the bottom right hand corner of my screen which I'm not too happy about.
Hoping that it does work because I don't really want to go through the hassle of acquiring a replacement. I will do if the problem is terminal though.
Thanks.
I don't have the yellow spots. But the top part of my screen has a yellow tint. This is my second phone and its perfect apart from this. Only had it a couple of days though so I'll give it time to see if it will fade.
I can only do a swap once more and I don't want to end up with a worse phone and have to send it away for repair.
Dilemma!

Cluster of stuck pixels

Hi all! I know there're several topics about stuck pixels but my problem is a bit different.
Today I got this phone from a friend and now I've noticed there's a cluster of stuck pixels on the screen (only in black background) - very small dots (like dust) in green, blue and red colors.
Here's a photo of another One V with the same problem, I found it on the net, don't know if it's a common problem.
I've tried different repairing software without any success.
Otherwise screen is working properly and there aren't any functional problems, but these pixels are just irritating.
And I don't know if I continue using it in this condition, stuck pixels won't become more and more...
Anyone faced the same problem? I hope there's another solution except changing the screen.
That is a broken LCD. Needs repair.
Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.

What kind of repair do you mean? Replace the whole screen or what?
give it to the htc care, they'll replace the display unit
I have no warranty, I bought it used as I said, so if I have to pay for screen replacing, this phone will become more expensive than a new one.
Could it get worse if I continue using it in this condition?
Dude open it ur self if u can or take it to there u can't do.anything externally off its hardware problem

[q] screen burn in issues?

I have had my note 2 for 8 months now. Only recently i have heard about the screen burn in issue that is the low life of the screen especially the blue pixels. since i have to use this phone for another 2.5 years or such, what should i do about this? can i get the screen repalced while my warranty is still there and what do i say?
pls help!
blue shouldn't really be a problem.
they made the blue subpixels bigger to compensate for their shorter lifespan.
you can also increase your screen's lifespan by using primarily black wallpapers, black themed apps, and night mode in browsers and e-book apps.
a convenient bonus is that this way you'll also increase your battery life, because it costs almost no power to display black on an OLED screen.

I started having the burn in effects after 6months of usage. And it doesn't follow a pattern it's just a random mark that shows on grey colours. I doubt your warranty will cover that as its a widespread issue that Samsung seems to shy away from, but you won't lose anything if you try to get a replacement just make sure you can easily replicate this issue when you try to show it to the service center.

That burn in is really bad. It's got to be a problem with your screen, and not common to all G4s or we'd be seeing others complaining by now.
I've seen phones that bad in stores, but their screens are on all the time. How much screen time have you had with Opera running?
Good thing the provider is replacing it!

hmm not that long troug. if i use opera a while not it disappears almost completely.
use it agian 2 minutes. its bck
and restarting my phone does not help.
removing opera does also not help.
if i got my new phone no opera anymore.
I just can't believe that's from Opera alone. There had to be a problem with the LCD in your phone.
I understand if you don't want to risk it by using Opera anymore but I don't think it'll happen with your new phone.

Lcd on mobile phones normally never get burnins, it's an amoled thingy (samsung phones) and it's an important reason I wont get a note 4 but a G4, so I really hope it was a single defective screen.
Did you try one of the screen retention fix app?
Did you try a factory reset? Call me crazy but it's not normal that a screen burnin doesn't affect white pixels, and it shouldn't do a green stuff, it could be a crazy bug

That's not "backlight leak" or "light bleed" as it's generally called. It's a bad LCD panel.
FYI This is how light bleed on the G4 can look like (It's mine).
I have a new device. So it's solved. But I see more people getting problems with the screen.
That's more likely to be just image retention and not an actual burn in.
Burn in = actual damage since the material gets burnt out than the rest of the other materials in the screen.
Image Retention = the liquid crystals on the LCD haven't fully returned to their original state for the meantime only.
A burn in commonly happens on crt, plasma, oled screens. For the reason that these technologies "burn" a specific material on their screen to produce output. LCD screens like IPS are very less likely to have burn ins but image retention is always possible but not permanent.

So is image retention common, because I've never had this problem until I got the G4 which is my first flagship: every other phone I've had was a budget and never had a problem like this.
I've never had image retention or burn in on any of my LCD phones but have had it on all my OLED/AMOLED phones.

LG used this "Quantum Display" of theirs (A modified type of IPS LCD) which had a different arrangement of pixels and whatnots which would have likely been the reason why image retention was much more common on theirs than other manufacturers' IPS displays, but in return.. the color gamut of their display actually expanded in range and also provided less energy consumption.
Same here LG G4 "screen burnes" all the time!!! - previous screens stay faded over current screens, just like on my old plasma TV... WTF???
I don't know what is screenburn but sometimes I see vertical narrow black stripes popping for a second in the same place, any thoughts what this can be? Is that a faulty display or some software bug, anyone had this issue?
What did other people who had this issue?
Now I'm also having it. Own the phone since ~11month. I recognized it 2 weeks ago, researching the problem. Before I though it would be a graphic error.
Have the plan to write LG about my issue. But have rooted the phone the official way. I must lookt at the LG root condition, I think this is still covered by waranty even with root because of HW issue not caused by root.
BR
I had a image retention issues on my screen (few months ago came from service for bootlooping) AND I have bootloader officially unlocked. And they still changed my display. But I live in Finland EU and we have this mandatory 2 years warranty regardless of rooting the device. Only if they can proof that rooting caused the device to broke then its not covered by this mandatory manufacturer independant warranty.
But image retention or bootlooping aint such a case and they replaced my MB and now my screen.
It just shows how **** the G4 is in case of build quality, I have experienced screenburn and I'm after a bootloop issue as well, so glad my OnePlus 3 is coming at Monday. G4 has a great development and thats why I love it I wouldn't buy ever again.
