So the GS3 will probably have a quad core Exynos processor. My question is will it come to the US, or be downgraded like in the HTC One X. I heard ( am not 100% sure on this) was that Nvidia had a falling out with qualcomm and that's why they didn't help them implementing LTE in the Tegra 3 quad core. If that's the case then the quad core Exynos chip would prob be LTE capable? What do you guys think??

I think I read something some time back that Samsung might of been working on that (having an LTE compatible Exynos chip), or the Dual-Core will have LTE.
This is just what I remember reading, so I could very well be incorrect or it could have been just rumors.
I just hope the US versions have an Exynos chip.
Here's the wiki for it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exynos

It'll have an exynos chip most likely. Chances are they've optimized it to be compatible with LTE, Tegra 3 had something weird about it that prevented it. I'm honestly hoping it's not compatible though, so we get a dual core A15.
Hardly any apps use the dual core... why does everyone want a quad core?
What does are phone have dual A9? Why don't you want a quad? Recent article says you get 20% less power consumption.

Again, every time you say the evo lte dual core is a downgrade, you show everyone that you don't know what you are talking about. The qualcomm dual core in the evo lte is vastly superior to the tegra 3. It is an upgrade, not a downgrade. If the quad core exynos is not ARM 15 based, it will be inferior to the krait chip in the evo lte.
Stop saying that the dual core Evo is a downgrade. Just stop.

One video of one benchmark (running on what looks like beta software, whats up with the android dialog on boot?) doesn't change the facts. Krait is next gen, tegra 3 is A9 and is last gen. Every other benchmark has krait at 1.5ghz dominating, not to mention power consumption. I'd love it if the quad core exynos has 4 A15 cores, but if it's A9 I'm not really interested.

Well, this is somewhat good news, as anything a15 based would be better than a9. (when will you people get it?? quad core with older tech is NOT better than dual core with newer tech!)
I am disappointed Samsung is not pushing the a15 Exynos 5250 for their flagship phone..

isn't the S2 for Sprint the only one with the Exynos processor? I don't think it's all that impossible for sprint to get the quad in the S3 or even better the Nexus 4 (cause really who can't wait a few months).
I had a samsung galaxy s 2 dual core and now i have the htc one x quad core, but i can't see the difference in speed, is it normal ?
out of curiosity: does it lag on live wallpapers? can u try?
It's perfectly normal, and something I've been warning people about for a long time now. SG2 had a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, One X has a quad core 1.5 GHz processor. Having 2 more cores does not mean that the One X is twice as fast, just that it's twice as strong. There's a big difference.
Read all the way through this thread discussing the positive/negatives of dual core vs quad core processors. I spent a lot of time there trying to dispel a lot of the ignorance surrounding the science behind what makes a processor faster/stronger than the next.

No, the techno-illiterate keep spreading this myth that more cores equals faster speeds. It's just not true.
It can do more things at once versus a dual core CPU, but if it's at the same Cortex class and clocked to the same speed, it's not going to be any faster.
+1 watch the video of the galaxy nexus vs the one x phone arena did, it is embarrassing how awesome the nexus looks compared to the one x.
Honestly the dual core versions with the s4 are better performers for the reason stated, better cortex and smaller nm. It also means for better battery efficiency.

Much like PCs, the move from single to dual core showed immense promise. However, the move from dual to quad can appear very, very underwhelming.
You really have to have applications that are programmed for the architecture of your processor. Otherwise, the benefit is bragging rights, and even then, who wants to be that guy...
The gs2's touchwiz is just better built software. While not absent lag, it's the least laggy android skin.
I prefer Galaxy S II because it is more powerful in my option.

Your comparing apples to oranges...Going from our Exynos Dual core to a snapdragon Dual core just doesnt warrant a upgrade.
Single 1ghz > Dual 1.2ghz= Upgrade
Dual 1.2ghz > Quad 1.4ghz= Upgrade
Dual 1.2ghz > Dual 1.5ghz= No way
Why blow the cash??? The SGS3 is basically just the SGS2 with a somewhat faster dual core processor. Somewhat better screen (Still a Pentile) and a bigger battery (300mah bigger). And a few new software pieces.
This is equivent to going from iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S. Total waste.

No need for another dual core versus quad core thread. Everyone knows the S4 kicks ass...it's just initial benchmarks for the quad core exynos seems to kick more ass, especially where gpu is concerned. I personally don't care if the phone has a dual core or quad core...but if it has a slower chip than its international siblings, then that's lame...

Exactly. The Qualcomm S4 MSM8960 supports newer and better technologies than the Exynos processors. Overall, all tasks and functions will be the latest version and faster than Exynos.
Here's a list:
BT 4.0
802.11a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz)
GSM (GPRS, EDGE)
W-CDMA/UMTS (HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, DC-HSPA+ cat.28)
MBMS
LTE cat.3
CDMA2000 (1xRTT, 1xEV-DO Rel.0/Rev.A/Rev.B, 1xEV-DO MC Rev.A)
TD-SCDMA
There's a reason people who render large files chose Intel processors over AMD. It's not just about cores and clocks.

With all this debate over why the sgs3 should be quad-core, I have one question..
What benefits would every day users see from the extra cores? How many people run lets say 12+ apps, switching between and using all of them?
I am personally happy with the sgs3 containing the s4. Quad core doesnt make the cpu the greatest. My Amd phenom x2 3.0 ghz beats out a number of quad cores.. I know its not a mobile cpu, but the same would apply to mobile phones. Quality over quantity.

Though the Mali-400 is powerful enough for the typical Mobile gamer for the next couple of years, newer Mobile GPU's will be able to run PS3 games (there has been quite some progress over the years). As a result, Developers may begin writing new games or porting existing games from the PS3 or XBox 360 to the the mobile platform. Neglecting Battery performance, don't you all think it will still be great to finally play some real games?
The ultimate question is,
What GPU Do You All Speculate will be in the Note III?
For your convenience the following is a current comparison of what is currently available on the market,

Hi I currently have an S3 i9300 and my company requires me to install MobileIron app and encrypt the whole phone; I find this slows down my phone considerably and often times I need to wait almost a minute for my app drawer to display my apps or some 20 seconds for camera to start.
Don't know if my experience with the S3 i9300 is only because of encryption app or also my processor-ram specs combination is not powerful enough to get a smooth experience.
So I'm looking to upgrade to an Note3 but I don't know which version should I get based on which should be the faster one?
