Google wallet - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

forgive me if this has been answered already, i am trying to install google wallet on my att gn2 and have found several different ways of doing it but some seem outdated. Can anyone point me in the direction of the latest and most stable way of getting this done?
Thanks

Google wallet will currently not function on the ATT gnote 2 device.
ATT has locked the device to incorporate a secure element sim card, and it will only interface with the ISIS wallet offered by ATT.
Attempts to integrate a working google wallet have failed since the latest gwallet update, as it seems google is changing the way the devices use the app.
It is rumored that google will also require a secure element sim card much like ATT, and it is also rumored that the two will not be compatible.
It's a waiting game while users and devs explore the options. But for now, no google wallet.
We have 2 other related threads on the subject already.
They can be found in the general section.....g

I guess it all depends on what version of the rom you are using. If you are using ATT's rom then yes, you'll probably get blocked, if using an international version (which I am) you won't. I am currently using Clean ROM 4.7 ACE and used SKYNOTE's zips to get Wallet to work. The only issue I had with using this method is that the zip in STEP 2 of the guide using the build.prop of SKYNOTE so what I did to compensate that was simply used 7-Zip to replace the build.prop for the zip in STEP 2 with the one included in ACE, flashed it and it kept the correct info.

Code:
Step 1 ----V7
Flash this

Start Wallet and Setup
then flash step2 and your done
Step 2 "FINALIZER" V8

Flash this build.prop revert which will identify
your phone in the play store as a galaxy note 2 and to make spen apps work )

This used to work then it stopped working for new installs. It still has trouble on an International rom. I get the app installed, a pin set up, and get my confirmation email but the device set up fails to load my cards. It says "Device set up failed" where it should be showing cards.

Thanks for that clarification, I didn't know that it had stopped working all together for all variants of the phone. Like I said before, this is how I initially installed it and it is still working for me, I guess I shouldn't flash any roms anytime soon.

No definitely don't flash a new rom any time soon lol. Rumor has it a new SIM card is required, one that doesn't exist - the AT&T mobile payment version will lock you out of wallet in favor of ISIS, as gregsarg said. Except I think this change is Google's fault not AT&T's fault, trying to patch up an exploit hole.

That's why I haven't been flashing anything. So I wouldn't lose the wallet features. Love my GW .. Working perfectly use it every chance I get...
Not too sure about all the rumors, I'll wait and see what's the outcome of all this Isis crap!! Until then I'll enjoy placing my phone up to the pay terminal to complete my transaction.. lol

My Periodic questions on the Note II

OK, just received my Note II from Sprint, it came with 4.1.1 on it, should I root it first, or take the 4.1.2 OTA first and then root, want to make sure it is OK to take the OTA before rooting, please advise, thanks.

You can root it then do the firmware update and flash a MA7 rom....the MA7 base roots just as easily.
OTA and then root. The root method is the same for every firmware version of the Note 2. Accept the OTA so you'll have the latest bootloader, modem, etc. Root afterward so you don't have to install that stuff manually.
The main reason why I was asking is because the 3.0 rootkit only shows for 4.1.1 as I read I would have to enter option 42 for Australia version for 4.1.2, so just wanted to be safe.:good:

You'll be ok. I was rooted and unrooted just to take ota update. Then I rooted again using same exact method as before. It will be ok and safe.

K, all done, no issues all is good. just curious is there an option to make the external SD card default for action when backing up items, I know you can change directories when doing the action, but just curious if it could simply be set by default instead.
how can i root my device????????

All the info needed is here in this thread along with the Toolkit, see below, I will also post you a video to view by QBKing77, cheers.

Google Wallet still not working?

Hey guys, i've had problems with Google Wallet on my Note II.
I still get the error message "Not supported - Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network".
It worked while I was rooted on Cyanogen. But I unrooted my phone, back on stock, update to date firmware, and its not working.
I've gone on wallet.google.com, and removed my phone from the account, and tried to restart the app on my phone, but I still get the error screen.
I've tried everything to get it working.
Only way I know of is with the xposed.
On stock we dont have the secure element enabled.

If all else fails, call Google Wallet support. If you forget to unlink Google Wallet from your old ROM and then tried to link it with your new stock ROM, you will have issues. However, the support team will be able to reset everything to allow you to use it again.

Just throwing in my 2 cents,
I am able to use it. Now I am on stock rooted, but it works perfectly fine for me. I can even update from play too. I don't know why yours would not be working for ya.
I've unlinked my GW manually on the website. I'm assuming the problem is I'm still on MA7, and I can't update to MC2... It constantly fails... I tried downloading the update, and doing it manually in stock recovery..... Would I be able to get another phone from sprint?

Of course you can. If your unrooted phone can't take an update its covered under warranty. Plus with ma7 the only to use wallet is to root. So your better off updating to mc2.

Actually, I can't even. I'm too odd.
No surprise. R&D, QC, whatever you want to call it is taking a backseat on T-Mobile's list of concerns. To think they once were a bit more efficient.
I still don't understand what's going on here.
The are known to skip on updates like this they will probably push 5.1.1 before the rest do tho

I'm pretty sure that they're working on updating straight to 5.1.1. given the leaked OTA which runs perfectly. Makes sense with all the issues plaguing Android 5.0 right now.

Did you get the original update from April? There was one pretty much out-of-the-box for this device. Something like 177MB or 178MB. Something like that.
Also, if you have indeed already received that update, yet you're being prompted to download a new one, I would highly recommend doing us all an awesome favor (assuming you don't mind tripping knox):
- Make some good backups of your device (TWRP or otherwise) such that you don't wipe anything
- Use Odin to return back to stock.
- Install TWRP v2 via Odin. There's an Odin-flashable version in the OP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/development/5-1-1-blck-tw-t3096994
(this should allow you to maintain an "Official" status, according to SysScope, but have root access through ADB in the TWRP recovery)
- Get advice somewhere here (I'm sure there's plenty that know how to do with on Lollipop) on how to snag that Update.zip of the OTA.
If I'm wrong, and flashing the TWRP via Odin marks the system status as "Custom" then I'm sure there's a different order we can do this in.
Or maybe I'm just crazy altogether. It's been a long day. But in any event, there should be some way to obtain that Update.zip and share it with us!

Ideally we'd want them to have the update download and then use a root method that doesn't clear that cache so they could pull the update.

You can download either one. The XAA and VZW firmware are identical. I just flashed the "VZW" one and it made no difference.

Yeah thats the one I downloaded, but when I loaded it into Odin the CSC showed as OYM, and not VZW.
Oh well lol I'll keep this running I don't have it set up yet so I can't speak on battery life or performance (although I'm sure it will be similar to PF2) but as far as my signal goes there are no issues so I'll keep this installed. Thanks for the guide and for helping me out.
Edit: Oh, didn't know the U firmware let you straight up uninstall some of the Samsung crap, not just disable it. Also didn't realize that all the 3rd party bloat was Verizon's doing, not Samsungs I disable all that crap with Package Disabler Pro anyways, but still didn't realize how sh*tty Verizon is lol.

I flashed the new U firmware and man my phone is back to normal. I want to root it but it was so sluggish with the root kernal even with the v15 fixes and all the tweaks I read here. Opening apps were taking 5 seconds, unlocking the phone was taking a few. It literally felt like I was running some crap $50 chinese phone lol. Also my battery was going down 10% every half and hour. Now with the fresh stock install no root no tweaks I've lost 3% in 1h and 33 minutes
What exactly are the benefits of doing this? Doesn't the U firmware have an unlocked boot loader, or something along those lines?

No unlocked bootloader, just 0 Verizon bloat to bog down the phone, so it tends to run much cleaner.

Note 5 SM-N920A ATT, install T-mobile Stock ROM?

I unlocked a Galaxy Note 5 model Samsung-SM-N920A from ATT and I am using Tmobile services.
My question is can I install a Stock ROM from TMobile instead of having the ATT one?
And which one is the right for exchange N920AUCS4CPL1 baseband? I already downloaded N920TUVS4DPH2_N920TTMB4DPH2_N920TUVS4DPH2_HOME.tar.md5
Read some more on here. It can't be done. Your phone is sim-unlocked. In order to flash ROMs, the bootloader needs to unlocked and the AT&T Note 5 cannot be bootloader-unlocked, rooted, etc.
The only excitement around here is someone found the early versions of Nougat on the AT&T servers, which is still a stock system.
Good luck.

The N920A Note 5 is different from the N920T.
The AT&T Note 5 cannot be rooted or flashed with anyrhing other than AT&T signed firmware (as you have already Been informed). Can't be done.
Every AT&T app in the app menu can be disabled. Hold your finger on an AT&T app and drag it to the Disable option at the top of the screen. Repeat last step until ypu have no AT&T apps left in the app list
AT&T & Verizon Note 5 owners: DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR PHONE!!!! I already have a thread explaining how to disable the software updater.. In the next couple of days I will be releasing a tool that disables ANY app on your Note 5 phone!!!! Right now my AT&T phone doesn't have a single AT&T app listed as installed!! I even disabled the Usage Manager, so when I say we can now disable any app I mean ANY app.
(this promptly removes it from all lists, the app for all purposes will be "removed")
I can 'remove' the AT&T / Verizon apps if your phone isn't updated beyond November 2016.. There is still some chance I can remove the AT&T apps if you didn't upgrade to nougat yet. If you upgraded to Nougat you should just learn to live with it because it was hard enough to get access to marshmallow.
edit: I finished a tool for disabling apps.. actually though it executes commands as root, but I did an example of how to disable packages

There is a combination firmware 4apl1 use it to downgrade to android 5.1.1. It wipes all your data but I have a full root on combination firmware with kingroot 4.8.2. I manually installed nova launcher prime which can hide apks as well. I manually installed apks with king flasher PC and mobile go installer. Also root apk uninstaller will also install mirror apks from apkmonk etc. Then change kingroot to
Supersu using the terminal emulator method and flash
Safestrap zip and gaps package with flashfire. Then
You are rooted with safestrap installed. Thanks to delgoth and
.Droidvoider for their information on
Their threads.
N920A 6.0.1 4cqb2 can be rooted I have done it multiple times. Google my YouTube video. The only thing I am having trouble with is installing a custom ROM over 4apl1 combination firmware. Yes in and out of bootloops many times but I am remaining patient. From my understanding of the posts I read on XDA I have to modify the custom ROM to install it over rooted 4pl1 combo. I have not figured it out yet. My phone is a v4 bootloader. The post on here are for doing that over a bootloader 3. It is rootable but this part installing custom ROM is complicated. Finally succeeded flashing and booting rom up over N920A 5.1.1 rooted combination firmware. Here is a YouTube link http://youtu.be/J6GXvtxq2aA
