i have always been using these... since i have been using app call shop kicks... and some stores i cant get long gps lock or no bars... but this has help a lot and also i uses two of them... since one really does nothing
also if you have a tv antenna two of these works too!!
just my review

Well the thing about these... they are placebo. Your antenna is finely tuned. In fact if you cut it or modify it without know what you are doing your phone may never get a signal again. But there isnt that problem with these since you domt actually connect anything or cut anything. You place a sticker under your battery. Doesnt do a thing. Without being connected to anything its not really doing much. You can also put a nfc sticker in there. Still nothing. There was a thread on this devices forum about just this. And the conclusion was just a placebo effect. Sorry. But you are right about tv's with rabbit ears. It could help signal reception.

[Q] Death grip

Hi everyone
I have this problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gu9oKlWq1Y
Anyone know how to solve this problem ?
Just as a disclaimer, every phone will lose signal if you grip it a certain way. Remember the iphone debacle?
But the quick fix is to just put a case on it. Your body will no longer interfere with the antenna and your phone will have the added bonus of surviving a fall.

Downside is cases tarnish the natural beauty of the phone that the cell phone manufacturers intended. I just take the risk. I would rather have a nice looking phone IMHO.
I already have this one http://www.otterbox.com/HTC-G2-/-HT...C4-G2XXX_color=20&start=1&cgid=desire-z-cases
gripping ANY phone tightly/awkwardly over the antenna will cause loss of signal. Some are worse than others, but it happens to any modern phone with an internal antenna. Cases help, but you're still going to be able to replicate it if you try hard enough. The phones are designed so that the antenna will more than likely not be blocked if you're holding it in any normal conventional way during regular use.
One usual culprit for the G2/DZ is the WiFi signal getting weaker when using the hardware keyboard, because your hands are covering the top and bottom of the device.
so isn't any idea to solve or help a little with this problem ?

Like I just said, there's nothing you can do other than just don't hold the phone in such a ridiculous way. You can't move the antenna inside the phone, it is where it is.
In normal use I highly doubt you'll ever see drastic signal drop because of the way you hold your phone. Nobody normally holds a phone in the way shown in the video.
So tell me how to play in gameloft games where all of them is in landscape mode

like I said, using the phone normally (yes even playing games in landscape) your signal shouldn't drop so low that you will be completely disconnected from the network. Don't get scared just because the bars drop.
But i already play at Order and Chaos and this game are also in landscape mode and unhappily i get lost connection every few minutes ;/ and the game has reconnecting.

There's nothing I can tell you. The antenna is where it is. If for some reason you're in a low signal area to start and you cover the antenna you're going to see loss of signal.
Tell me if i give back this mobile on warranty then they are able to solve issue ?

You're not listening. Every phone has this issue if you hold it in the right place. Its a cell phone with an antenna. Its just going to happen, there's nothing you or the manufacturer can do to "fix" it after the phone has been made.
I acutally thought this was a radio problem. I switched radios and noticed a slight improvement.

A radio update can help your signal a bit overall, but it will never remove the effect of strategically covering the physical antenna. What it would help with is a default low signal, that gets worsened to the point of disconnection from the network by covering the antenna (aka your normal signal could be higher, so that when it gets lessened it still stays connected).

{Q} Bad signal cycling - bad antenna? repairable?

so i just a got a used s3, probably launch model. very happy with it. only problem is the signal. no matter where i am, as soon as i use the data, it instant drop to zero bars, 100-125 dbm making data unusable.
I've tried troubleshooting it by disconnecting the antenna cable and saw that it made no difference. I would think that if you removed the antenna cable, you would either get no signal or bad. could it be i have a bad antenna cable or the connector on motherboard? or is that the wifi antenna?
any more way to narrow it down or is it a s3/sprint issue etc
Thanks

No I get fine signal so its not a known issue across all s3 but u might have removed the WiFi cable if your signal didn't stop I would suggest trying to use odin to restore to stock again maybe the build your running has issues if that doesnt work i would suggest take it to sprint and show them the issue if they can repair it its free if not they order u a replacement for $30

Doesn't matter if u have TEP if for any reason you need a replacement phone while your still in contract and your phone is activated and is not physically damage or water damage then u can get a replacement for $30 unless your screen is cracked which is of course more ive done that with several devices in the past

Replacing WIFI receiver on G2?

Hello,
I have to say that I love my G2. Unfortunately it has some issues. I had a box fan on my window sill this summer. Well, it fell off and landed on my phone, leaving a dent in the aluminum trim (right above the LED charging light). Every since then my WIFI reception has been terrible. I have to be in the same room as a router to get any signal. I'm not even sure if it is possible, but I think replacing the "wifi receiver" might solve my problems. While I'm at it, the earpiece speaker seems to be blown (poor audio quality, hard to understand people). I'll follow the path of this thread for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1578637
I can't seem to find a wifi receiver part online. To be honest, I don't really know what I'm looking for. Any advice?
P.S.: While I have your attention, what custom ROMs are you using? My phone is rooted, but I've never installed a custom ROM. I'm just curious what is being used.
WiFi receiver is built into the board and non replaceable, sorry for the bad news

Signal on top of a Mountain

Special use case. I am trying to get a signal when summitting 14ers (really high mountains). The current method is to send a guy up with a Verizon phone and a few other WiFi hotspots and cross our fingers that he catches signal for a few minutes.
I've scoured the web and can't seem to find any information on this. The Wilson Portable seems like it has the right idea, but is clearly designed for a car use situation. Should I be looking into using a Wilson Sleek with a larger external antenna and improvised battery backpack? Or perhaps there is a software trick to increase the power to the 2g radio? I'm really all ears.
I would love to figure out a way to simply slide my Nexus 5 in a case of sorts with a ~3ft collapsible antenna on the top. Would this work? Does it need to be in physical contact with the actual antenna, or could it just be in contact with the backplate?
I really hope someone has an idea on this subject. I find it so hard to search for!
Thanks again,
Matt
Ingress? lol
Yeah.. I wouldn't have much of an answer since with any booster, there needs to be a signal to boost.
I've thought of using your idea with a booster and a portable battery, but have field tested it yet.

I've got a Nexus 5, not sure if we have an external antenna jack or not. A lot of phones hide it under the battery.
You'd want a Yagi-style antenna. There are lots of instructions for making them with stuff like fishing pole tubes and tig welding tubes to make them ultra-light and foldable/dis-assembable for hiking purposes.
http://www.ubersignal.com/blog/yagi-antennas/
Yagi's boost transmit and receive both. They're highly directional, so you have to point them at the right spot.
Get a sat phone. Or climb 14'ers that have cell towers on them.
I climb a lot in the Sierra Nevada and almost always have service anywhere over 13000 ft. They're a narrow range close to population though. If you doing that in the Rockies I wouldn't trust cell service.

Sorry To Read You Received A Faulty Device..
There Are Zero Wi-Fi Issues With The A70 On A Mass Level.
You Should Begin The Process Of Obtaining A New Replacement Unit A.S.A.P.
Mine drops frequently to the point that it's frustrating. Check out my post about the screen and tell me if you have the same issues too. We might have the same versions of the device, which appear to be a bunch of faulty versions from the same batch.
I'm having an issue as well. My old phone can and able to detect and connect to my WiFi (which is quite distant tho) meanwhile my A70 can't, I have to get closer to the Wi-Fi in order for it to detect/connect to it but after that if I return to the other place when it doesn't pick it up, I'm able to maintain the connection. It's weird..
Use 3rd party app to connect on wifi. Im using wifi master. Playstore have it

Here you go buddy
That Wifi Master app is unsupported by the A70 so I don't know why you'd recommend it here
wifi is definitely one of the worst thing on the a70...it drives me up the wall, and i am ready to sell my phone and never touch any samsung anymore because of this...i am not sure, but samsung is trying too hard to make some things "smarter" meaning if samsung thinks your wifi signal is bad it drops connection just like that...exclamation mark, lost connection, switch to data, are countless through the day...and samsung is playing dumb about this problem...
my wife is using lg and meizu on the same network and wifi is working perfectly fine 24/7...
same here. my friend is able to get a stable connection on the same network with a much older phone. However samsung won't do anything about it.

I can't see any app that you mention.
Can you kindly share its link here or pm me.
As my A70 also has weak wifi issue.
Can't see the wifi router downstairs when my old. Samsung note 4 can, laptop can
I'm having the same issue. Weak Wi-Fi signal in my A70. While my other phones are getting full signal. Is there any way to fix?
seems like some antenna problem. you can probably fix it by bridging antenna contacts with the pins on the motherboard with a lump of copper wire. Solder can also help.
to take itapart:
1) insert a thin piece of plastic( like a flexible plastic file) into the gap between the rear plastic and frame, and cut the adhesive, and peel away the rear plastic
2) remove the screws and sim tray
3)slide your finger nail into the gap between the rough plastic and the smooth plastic on the side rails. The rough plastic is the part that is touching the screen, and the smooth plastic is the side rails. The smooth plastic is of a different colour, and the rough plastic is black.
4 pull the side rails away, and examine the copper antenna contacts. you might want to replace the mid frame. If you still have warranty, bring it back to store
