Edit: Counterfeit Rii i8 Keyboard touchpad... - General Accessories

Since I didn't find "Stick computer Mini-keyboard/mice" section in these forums I assume this is the best place for this... and since only certain dongles with with these TV sticks this is assumed in the correct section.
Okay I really like my MK808B, but got a... what seems to be called i8 Keyboard:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400426715732
Keyboard SUCKS, touchpad SUCKS. When ~3ft it works... let's just say barely functional. Double-types characters, misses characters typed, touchpad barely functions. It is like the connection has no ACK, with a double-type here and there.
I am looking for a device that is rock solid that types when I type, and doesn't double key a single character, so am I limited to Bluetooth for something with an active connection (like TCP vs UPD)?!?!?!
I really want something like a presenter mouse with cursor keys, these would be required "up, down, left, right, back, home" for rock-solid: press it and it take the button.
I just don't want to keep buying trash hardware keyboards w/touchpad if someone knows one that works well.
I need like 10ft range, but bluetooth's 30" would be a better option.
Any input would be helpful, as I am at a loss, but I need something that works with these stick computers specifically, as kernels for these sticks do not work with all dongles...

What wireless k/b and pointing devices are you guys and gals using?

It looks like I MAY have a counterfeit/fake i8 keyboard, and this is the issue.
I bought a Bluetooth touchpad/keyboard combo, so we shall see...

Yeah I just got an i8 myself and it works fine at about 25ft. I also noticed there was some kind of anti counterfeit sticker/ serial number with scratch portion on the box when it arrived was there one on yours?

Nope!
I did see that sticker on some listings, so now I know what to look for, and the legit ones state "Genuine" or "All sellers should be authorized by Rii company. Dear customer, please ask seller to provide Rii authorization. If they can't provide, what's they sell is fake. "
I have been burned on razors (Gilette Fusion's are usually 30-50% cheaper on eBay), and people tried to burn me again, but I knew to include "genuine" in my search terms for those but after the 1st time, I knew what to look for on counterfeits of those. I thought these were just cheap k/boards, but I didn't know that there were good makes of them, with frauds out there.
The "Design" of the thing was so great, and the form looked so functional, I went ahead and bought a Legit one, just today... we shall see!

Crap, I bought another that states "Rii i8" in the description, title, and some of the images and sent a message when paying from paypal something along the lines of "If this isn't a legit Rii i8 go ahead and refund, but do not ship..." My eBay inbox had a message stating that it wasn't legit, and asked if I wanted them to ship anyway... COUNTERFEITING-WHORES-EVERYWHERE! I reported the listing as fraudulent! This is ridiculous!
If someone wants a LEGIT Rii* i8 Keyboard that functions, it appears that a good search on eBay appears to be 'Rii i8 "is fake"' without the single-quotes, but include the double-quotes as such:
Rii i8 "is fake"
"is fake" includes part of the description stating "All sellers should be authorized by Rii company. Dear customer, please ask seller to provide Rii authorization. If they can't provide, what's they sell is fake." and appears to work wonders. "is fake" would probably be a bad thing on illegitimate device descriptions, as it might make people google their issue, and end up here.
That seems to get a search for legit i8's done, and with only good results. eBay says that it has "0 results" but then appears to list what you are looking for...
What you are looking for is the COA in one of their pictures:

The counterfeits are even displaying legit images of legit products on their listing, here is an example of the second fake I bought, thinking it was a Rii i8:
I hope this helps someone that could be getting screwed, like I WAS...

On yours does it double-type characters all the time?
I just got a bluetooth keyboard and it too is double-typing characters, and ofter repeating characters more than 10 times with I hit a character once.

I just received the 'Rii mini One' keyboard. I had heard about the clones and what to look for in that particular keyboard to determine authenticity. I also made sure that the site I purchased from showed pictures of only the authentic Rii. It did me absolutely no good! Got the keyboard yesterday. The picture on the box was of the real thing, it had the authentication sticker on the box like you guys talk about, - at this point I'm one happy camper because ALL I've been getting from Amazon lately is either a clone or a not very well repackaged defective returned item that's supposed to be new! And then I opened the box and found a clone inside,... indicator lights in the wrong spot, no ' ® ' symbol by the Rii trademark, and headphone jack is faulty among other things. So, the point is that you can't go by the box, you have to examine the keyboard. I believe the box is original because it even has the large picture on the front of the real item with the LED indicator lights in the proper place.

hi, i have a wireless 2.4 ghz mini keyboard mouse that works fine. it's called H9, have shoulder buttons for touchpad, i got it from aliexpress for 9 bucks. no double input and it has backlight.http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Backlight-Keyboard-Rii-i8-2-4Ghz-Wireless-Qwerty-English-Keyboard-with-Touchpad-for-Mini-PC-Smart/32710810761.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.87.2rUwMg
don't trust the description !!! it's not RII I8plus like stated.

X1 Deskstand (DIY 1.0)

I saw a very interesting topic and I trans. it here.
We used a geniue desk stand by Sony Ericsson, model appears to be CDS-71, brought it online, cheap stuff.
The most important things to do is add a small MiniUSB port on the side of black plastic opponent. Pretty simple, huh ? (refer to the pics, please)
In my opinion, my stand is way much better than those 3rd party's product, and kept the original Sony Ericsson style.
And please choose the real good USB cables and not too long, otherwise it will weaken the signal.
Here comes the pictures!

That's amazing! Would you be up for me buying one from you? If so PM me how much, and I'll paypal it to you.
Was there a reason you chose to go portrait? It seems harder to plug the X1 in that way
Would like to make one myself but it's hard to find CDS-71 in the states....
how much u sell for
i looked in ebay for this CDS 71 and did not find any. the same for the official SE site
I think Lucif3r was simply quoting another poster from another forum
looks awesome but just wondering if you could have got a 90 degree mini-usb connector to divert the cable to the base of stand?

*Very* nice. Can you give details on where you purchased the stand from? Also, where did you get the USB cable? It has a nice long end on it, perfect for this.
Wow, so many replies....
Thanks for replying. I am in China, and these deskstand is made by a Chinese. It's pretty easy to buy CDS 71 stand in china. So if anyone really want this, maybe I can talk to the guy who made it.
This stand is so handy and I used it for a while. and we are planning V2.0 of this stand, it will be more improvement.
Well, I found some CDS 71 stands. Email me to [email protected] if you interested. send your location infomation along with the email so I can check the postage. Maybe the shipping charge is more than the stand!
I'm working on a final version of this stand. I hope it could be standing vertical and horizontal. Seeing X1 laid the the desk horizontally with keyboard open, should be nice.
Hello, guys!
my suggestion is DO NOT BUY IT FROM ME because the shipping charge is tooooooooo expensive. the stand is cheap, just 3-4 bucks, but I have to pay around $40 for shipping!
That's insane.... So i am so sorry about all this. Hope you guys good luck for find some CDS 71.....
Damn post office.....
nice - looks pretty good ;-)
I guess it's not a big problem to buy the original 'CDS-71' and adding such an USB-Cable manually - probably I'll build one in the near future

Are you sure the CDS-71 was used - this looks very much like the CDS-25 which you appear to only get in the UK (and of course, it has the SE Fastport) - not cheap though, approx $32 US (http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-ERICSSON-D...3.l1177&_trkparms=240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50)

The one that the other guy posted only includes the case for $34. You have to buy the mat seperately. The one I found comes with both....but I'm sure that the quality isn't as good though.
that powermate case looks fat!
This is not exactly wireless, the four tits on the bottom of the door contact the bars on pad to charge. I have the qi wireless door from Verizon and the energizer two position pad. It works great but there is supposed to be a update that will increase the distance it will charge. Thus most cases will not be a problem. The current one is about 5mm I believe and suppose to be going to 40mm. Distance between the door and charger. Goodluck
See the Galaxy sIII shine via SynergyRom
Hmmm...... I don't think the quality on that thing would be very good, $55 seems pretty steep, I'm pretty sure you can get something of better quality for cheaper or the same price.
well.. technically it's wireless...... since it doesn't require a plugging on cables.... but yeah.. it's just one of those with contacts....

Yeah it looks like the power runs through the power mat on those metal strips, and the contacts on the back case make a connection with that. Doesn't seem very safe or efficient, plus those contacts on the back of the case seem like they'd scratch the powermat strips, and if you look carefully on the bottom right of the first picture it looks like that may be the case, could also be writing or a reflection or something else too.
I think the price doesn't justify it. I'll stick to wired charging and wait for a phone that includes wireless charging out of the box.
wireless
This is not Qi(only way to go) nor Powermat (not bad, but not Qi...yet) nor is it inductive charging. It is CONDUCTIVE (Duracell) and useless...In this case, use a USB cable instead
I hate to play devil's advocate here, but by using this type of charging, the only thing you're doing is reducing the number of inserts/removals on your usb port thus having it last abit longer... but these things are also rated for 50,000+ insert/removal cycles so it's kinda hard to use these devices long enough to go over that limit.

You're completely missing the point. The main idea is to increase convenience, which this does big time. I don't care at all about the longevity of USB port.
That said, I bought a Verizon pad for $15 on eBay, and am now trying to find a stupid charging cover that isn't made in someone's kitchen. Finding the latter is the hard part.

i'm not missing the point at all. The convenience factor is implied with that. There is no other real reason for you to get wireless charging.
What i'm saying is that it's an added "benefit" for this specific charger.
Also, send a PM to kms108. he's selling the receiver pad for the Qi chargers.
I'm buying the Nokia chargers as soon as I can find one hopefully this weekend seeing that the Nokia lumia 920 is released on Friday. I have the Qi receiver and it works great on the LG (Verizon Pad) just want something more appealing. They also say that the charger is more forgiving on where you place the phone do to new technology from Texas instruments.

I5 Plus Smart Watch wristband, unboxing and review

Hi, I have xiaomi Mi Band 10 months and i´m looking for new wristband, working and cheap.
I decided to buy cheap wristband with OLED display, 7 days long working time and clever idea for charging.

Here is my unboxing and review....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa-oeHvBSzA
Thanks for the review, it's actually the first and only one I found in the whole web.
I got a question to ask though, what brand is it? It was mainly hard for me to find a review of this product also because it has no brand name but just a generic "i5 plus".
Hi, I think it's really only one review on the web - this.
Here I found a similar wristband, this one has a button, mine not. But manufacturer is probably the same, either app in her phone is zeroner too.
https://youtu.be/ykQUPBS3fSc
I found that video too but the brand name leads me to nowhere. However after further research I found out that the brand behind all these "i5" watches is "Iwown". Can you confirm me that (maybe by checking out your product box)? Thanks.
Hi, there is no manufacturer on the box, no brand name, only "smart bracelet".
Hi matey,
Does it display the contact name when someone is calling you in real time ?
Yes, but in my case it show only first 6-7 letters, no full name.
I'm gonna buy one, but have few more questions, how long does the battery last ? And how is the visibility in outdoor ?
5 days (5-7 days are declared), then I plug it to my USB 3port on notebook. After 25 minutes it was fully charged.
Visibility in outdoor is good, but strong direct sun could be problem - I can see time, but sometimes I need make shade by hand.
Thanks man for your feedback

It's the same as yours but it has Iwown logo on the back, maybe yours is a replica of the replica of the Vidonn X5? Lol.
haha, it´s the same wristband
lwown has logo, but if you click to link under the video "where to buy", you will be redirect to the same page like "my" wristaband, gearbest - there is my text review too either app zeroner is the same.
vidonn 5 is similar wristband, but has a button and app is different.
here is review for vidonn x5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/accessories/review-vidonn-x5-smart-activity-tracker-t2814725
i dont like it, it lasts only 4 days and for time you must touch button, no gesture control...so i prefer cheaper "lwown" wristband
Good one, I didn't notice that it redirects to the same page.
I don't get, though, why one has logo and the other doesn't, but either way I trust in what you said and decided to order some, let's hope they will arrive soon and safe!
I hope that you will be satisfied, on the gearbest page were added other positive review.

Getting hold of additional charging docks?

Hi All,
I've been using my Huawei Watch for around a week now and can honestly say that I love it. I originally had the Gear S2 Classic but returned it after 4 days because I thought the Tizen app store was a bit too barron.
One thing I have tried to do since getting the W1 is buy another charger that I can take with me, I'd like to be able to leave the original on my bedside table for night charging but can't seem to find anywhere that sells the chargers for a reasonable price.
I live in the UK and have checked all the usual places but I'm even struggling to find one from the US ect. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thanks
EDIT: Sorry this should be in the accessories section, can a Mod please move? Thanks
If you're in the US you can buy them from the Huawei store. I don't think it's available anywhere else yet (at least I couldn't find it when I was searching for them).
You can buy one direct one from the Google store, although it's currently showing out of stock.
https://store.google.com/product/huawei_watch_charging_cradle
A bunch are sold on Ebay. Just search "huawei watch charger." I ordered on for $10 USD shipped from China. Don't know how good they are as it will take a couple of weeks to get here. I'd post a link but because I'm new on the forum the will not let me.
Thanks for the replies all, I'll keep an eye on the store for a couple of weeks and go with eBay if not.

Here is a thread we have started about third party chargers. Feel free to join in with your experience. I am going to order that one that @player911 linked to.
If you happen to have huawei band (the black round one), its charger can be used to charge huawei watch too.
I am waiting on a review/comparison before pulling the trigger.
We have ordered one of these and they are of very low quality, the huawei puck has a little bit different connection than the eBay one, making the eBay one even harder to line up when charging.
Received my $10 puck from eBay today - so far it's working great

I bought one in Romania from cel.ro . I don't know if they ship outside my country. It was 40 USD, the original one.
Personally, I bought the original one from the Google store yesterday. Not sure I would trust a cheap chinese replica even at £9 instead of the £29 price tag of the original. The watch is expensive enough without tempting the devil with a charger that was manufactured by a 7yo.
But i think it's too expensive for a charger like this. It could be a bit cheaper
Thanks all! They're back in stock for UK orders as I type this. Just bought mine from the Google Store ☺

I agree, it is expensive, but when you look at the box, you know where the money goes! lol
Plus, I've seen quite a few posts online about people buying those cheap chinese chargers and they burned the back of the watch... so I'd rather pay £10 more and ensure it is fully compatible with my watch.

I doubt that this box costs more than a dollar to make and I doubt that a defective charging pad can damage your watch since there is just to little current going through it. There is a good argument to be made for buying a good quality charger but the charging pad is just a few pins and wire, no way I am paying 40 Euro for that if there is an alternative.
Check this:
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=272087873263&alt=web
I think its a good idea to have a charger with micro usb plug
I bought a knock off Henoda off Cramazon, I believe $10 bucks free prime ship. I've used it several times, it actually connects better than OEM, I have to fiddle with OEM to get it to connect. So far no real issues.
Your mileage may vary ala Benson Leung's Google testing and frying a chromebook

I am having the same problem with this seller (AutoStereo).
My auto DVD is under warranty, I had problems with the operating system and can not solve with the seller.
Good morning, I also bought an android radio in this company, and they have also deceived me, first with a tracking that did not have any transport company, but it came to me, that if it worked badly from the beginning, and since yesterday it no longer has sound, I have read a lot, it hurts not to have looked before, and to make the purchase through Paypal, I bought in Aliexpress and we will see why they asked me to remove the dispute and remove it and now I can not put another one, time has passed, like this That we will see, do not buy from it, sure scam.
I have also bought a car stereo from them. I have chosen the right one for my car and paid it via paypal. They asked me for my car model and told me that it is the wrong model and i should have to pay another 150$ to get the right model. I said that i will cancel my order and buy the right one. The said, that would take too much time ich should pay them directly to their paypal account. I did not do that. Then they gave me another link with the exact amount of the price difference and told me to pay this link. I paid it via paypal and three weeks later i recieved the car stereo. It has been the wrong model. I contacted them and said i want to return the stereo to them and want a full refund on both payments. No reaction. I open two disputes for the one product. They contacted me and said, if i gave them a 15 star review for both payments, they would fuly refund me when i return the stereo. Time passed, nothing happened. When you remind them on their promises they only answer with "ok"
I opened two paypal cases for this stereo. They refused to refund me, because if you have two payments for one product there is no buyerprotection.
Now i have a stereo that does not fit my car, lost a lot of money and the seller once more scammed another customer.
Do NOT buy anything from them!!
Good afternoon, I forgot to say that they also have another name, AOTSR, and they also appear on various sites, Amazon, Ebay and Aliexpress, they are the same Zwnav. Now that I continue with the problems, the last thing they have told me is that I broke the team, of course they are scoundrels.
OH WELL too late for me , i purchased it soo expensive and no replies. before used to said, " email the engineers" im sure the engineer is a lab rat that never replies.
i messed up my ZLINK and the Zwnav. dont even respond .
i wanted to downgrade to android 9 but never helped .

I had a sad experience with ZWNAV,too!I paid 2 Media players Tesla style 4GB+128Gb ROM but they sent 2 Media players 4Gb+64Gb ROM for Ford Mondeo,2017,SYNC 3,without informing me what he send, they motivated that what I paid I do not go on my car!!!They was mounted by the specialized company and the surprise and more unpleasant was to see that it works only partially!
Does not work bluetooth, does not work radio and does not show information from CAN !
About a month I still talk to them to me the correct firmware for my car and refuse under various pretexts, these guys lie as they breathe!(contact person Irene Zhou)
And I'm of the opinion not to buy from the company ZWNAV, are completely out of trouble, do not care about customers after i have tricked to buy from them!!!
hola, es correcto. El Soporte es muy malo, se desentienden a todo.
Mod Edit: English Translation Below
hello, that's right. The Support is very bad, they ignore everything.
Yes AOTSR have terrible customer service, they will stop replying to messages as soon as they get your money, I tried contacting them for help with one of their units and they completely ignore you.
