Hello Oners I didn't see a earphone thread so ta da. Discuss what you use and what you advice and maybe links to where you can get them from. I'll start off by saying I'm using the apple earpods. I know I know I know... they work great Mic and play pause but no vol.

Well I use Shure se535 along with Fiio e17 connected through USB via OTG adapter. It is just amazing. Also use poweramp instead of the stock music player.

If you are looking at $100 headphone consider the Klipsch X10s. They originally retailed for $350 and are some of the most comfortable and best sounding in ear headphones on the market. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Image-X10-Noise-Isolating-Earphone/dp/B000WAHFBK They were doing a sale a while ago for $89.99 but they can still be found on ebay for $100.
If you are not wanting to spend that amount go for the Klipsch Reference S4 not the normal edition make sure it's the reference they are amazing for their cost. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Reference-S4i-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B005ZNHK4Q/ref=pd_cp_e_2 still $49.99 they will destroy all in ear headphones under $100.
I'm using the ur beats. There pretty good. Nice bass and sound. Plus it looks cool with the bests logo on the phone lol

This is what I'm currently using and was told by several people it would support multiple phones. It does, sometimes...weird I know. The concept behind these I think is good. I personally hate bluetooth and hate earphones. These if they would work perfect the entire time I would love. I think I'm going to be taking them back to the Sprint store this week and looking in to some other options as well.
I have no problem paying the high dollar for them but only if they do everything I want.
Depends but for price the phillips she3580 or similar is a cracking match.
They share different model names but they're the same driver.
Just a tiny little bud.

Yeah got mine the other week, great sound from the headphones, nice design to go with the phone and a compatible remote. What more do you want for 30£? :good:
My headphones are Etymotic ER-4P. (This model has been discontinued, but the ER-4PT is very similar).
My requirements for headphones are somewhat unusual. First, I'm partially deaf, which means I need high-end sound quality. There is obviously a point of diminishing returns - when the distortion/noise introduced by the phone itself is significantly greater than that introduced by the headphones; but anything less than high-end sound means I can't understand dialog in a downloaded movie or TV show. (Also, when I do listen to music, it's classical, and that is much more vulnerable to distortion than modern stuff). Second, I do a lot of listening on trains on the London Underground; shutting out as much background noise as possible is therefore a major priority.
I don't usually move around too much while listening - someone who wants to go the gym or go jogging would want a different model. And the ER-4PT is not a headset - there's no microphone, so you can't make calls with it, and there's no track-switching control. (If that's an issue then the next model down does have a headset equivalent called the HF2).
Etymotic aren't as good value now as they were when I bought mine, but sound quality is very good, and exclusion of external noise is truly superb - officially they reduce it by 35-42dB, depending on frequency. (The level of noise isolation is the same on much cheaper Etymotic models, although obviously the sound quality isn't as good).
I've got Bose AE2i and Mie2s
Works really well imo

I have a pair of the LG Tone Plus and they are awesome! 15 hours of battery life and great sound when playing your favorite jams on your HTC One! Highly recommend if you want the bluetooth kind and ability to connect two phones does work.

You should go check the Headfi forum. I'm a regular poster there. One thing to note about the HTC One is that they have excellent driving capabilities thus making the use of an external amp useless unless you're trying to drive something like K701s.
To put things into perspective, they drive my 600ohm DT880s perfectly with a mild spike in volume at about the <500Hz range.
I personally like to use them with my m100s when I'm out and about.
They should drive IEMs no problem. I would even say that they're overkill for a sensitive earphone like the S4. They sound great with se215s.
Tbh the stock IEMs are suprisingly good. Great bass extension but also a considerable amount of mid-bass hump leading to some sound corrruption in the mids. Highs are lacking but for what they are I definitely would not recommend spending 100$ for IEMs like the S4 for what is in my opinion a very mild upgrade.
Just use the stock phones.

Well as everyone knows Beats are ridiculously overpriced, the sound they provide is nowhere near the price they charge, yes they do look nice but just way too expensive. So I shopped around and found what are essentially beats without the same price tag (RRP they are but sell for much cheaper on ebay), the headphones I refer to are the Monster Purity HD's. As everyone knows Monster makes Beats, the Purity HD's are essentially Solo HD's with a rectangular ear cup, slightly less bass and clearer sound. Same headband and everything, really nice looking cans, got them today after winning them on ebay for £38 brand new and sealed.
I think the reason for how cheap they sell is they have been made in conjunction with Nokia for WP7 phones so uninformed people dont realise they are made by the same company as beats and think they are Nokia headphones, good news is also the cable with the ControlTalk controls works right out of the box with the S3, that means answer/end calls, play/pause music, turn volume up/down using the controller without ever touching your phone. Awesome. Anyway thought it might be of use to people who like the look of beats but not the pricetag they come with. Enjoy.
Thanks for the heads up. I've started shopping around as well and couldn't justify dropping the $$$ on Bose or those Beats headphones. I'll take a look at these.

If you ask any audiophile what headphone is the best, they'll tell you it doesn't matter. If your audio file is a high quality (256kbps+) then it'll sound good no matter what headphones you use. In fact, most audiophiles use cheap $10 generic earbuds as opposed to something more expensive.

or get something better, with audio if you go cheap, really go cheap, there is no point in spending "a little bit more"
Either buy what you really want or head to TJ Maxx.
A lot of people talk about lack of bass because they don't know how to insert in ear phones properly. Even on expensive phones.
Good headphones with clear mids and airy highs will really disappoint you if you don't master this skill as they will sound utterly unbalanced and unfun if you don't get a good deal on your ear canals.
Figured i add something even more useful than the initial advice you might not see as one.

I've done a lot of research and this seems to be the consensus: They're better than the old pack ins, but not near as good as Apple's claims.
This dude hated them:
http://gizmodo.com/5943222/apple-earpods-review-less-terrible-still-garbage
This dude thought they were alright, but preferred a certain $7 set of earbuds:
http://thewirecutter.com/2012/09/testing-the-apple-earpods-vs-our-favorites-headphones/
And I ordered said certain set of earbuds to see what the hype is all about. Apparently if you want to step up from these $7 earbuds, the next best sounding ones are $90 Velodynes. That sounds pretty amazing, but I will know first hand in a few days.
Oh yeah, those $7 ones:

I have a pair of these and they sound fantastic for the price. However for my ears the fit with any of the included tips is terribly uncomfortable and fall out pretty easily, but I've also never found any in-ear earbuds that actually feel comfortable and stay in anyway so take that for what it's worth. Also I can hear the wires bouncing around pretty badly as I walk.

I may have the unpopular opinion, but I have to give my good graces and kudos to the new Apple earpods. I have had the old earbuds and now the new pods. The difference is extraordinary. I am hearing clear differences between the two. I don't ever use stock music players with my phones, even though I've found the stock music players in both the Note I and II, are really great. I use third party music players because there's usually much more customization. With the player I use and their enhanced bass settings, plus the new Apple earpods, I am hearing extreme bass and really clear sound in all of my music... sounds I don't recall hearing with the old Apple earbuds.
Also, unlike with the Note I and/or the old Apple earbuds, the new earpods actually work with the Note II as a functioning headset! Found it out by sheer accident. They have never worked with any other Android phone, so I never tried. A friend called me while I was listening to music, and I answered the call before I attempted to disconnect the earpods. That's when I heard my friend talking through the headphones. I said, "Hello" and he heard me... loud and clear according to him. I was super excited! So for only $29.99, you may wanna try these. If you can get em from Best Buy, you can try them out and if you don't like them, you can return them within the window of returns for a full refund. You can't beat the price, especially if you end up liking them.
I love these threads
I want the BEST earphones, i don't care what they are, I want the BEST....as long as its under $50
The BEST in my opinion? Westone 4R. Aural bliss
Best headphones money can buy
For around 90 bucks, you can pick up a pair of sure se215's. Just look around you can get them on the cheap, and you will be hard pressed to find a better pair of headphones in this price range. They sound better than the Klipsch s4's but are a little more pricey, and they have a very nice fit.
I love the sound of the Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi buds. I've tried a bunch, and they are the best I've heard. But, if you're going to be rough on them, expect to buy a new cable every 6 months or so.
Lately, for just walking around and listening to podcasts, I've been using the Plantronics BackbeatGO (they were on sale at BestBuy for $80, you can get them at Amazon for $75 now). Only 4.5 hours of battery at a time, but if that's long enough for you, they are incredibly comfortable and not bad sounding.
Posted in the wrong forum earlier. Here are closer pics for those wondering. Seems like similar styling, but not Beats.

Beats suck anyways. They're made from cheap plastic, have poor frequency response and tracking, and IMO aren't comfortable at all. Spend the same amount of cash on a pair of Sennheisers and you'll end up with a much higher quality product.

Good to hear. I wasn't expecting anything high end, just a level of quality that complements that of the phone. I thought the buds that came with the NS4G were awful; muddy lows, and no real highs. Not to mention they were broken within a couple months.

Look likes they went with off branded beats style. Since they have licensing I wonder if the price point from beats was too expensive.
I like my Shure SE530's - upgraded them from my SE500 from a few years back. A little bit better but a little brighter than my SE500's. Of course I need to stream music to them for a couple of days continuously to break them in.
Beats Audio is overhyped plastic bits with weak drivers and horrible fidelity.
But then again good sound is subjective. I love FLAC and can hear the difference and most of my friends can't hear it until I make them listen to to non-FLAC and FLAC and they are like OH WOW. But they will usually say that for what they want out of headphones/earphones the basics are okay.
It's all personal taste.
I'm glad to know that these are not the beats buds...T-Mobile does not include the ear buds and I was bummed out, but if they are just regular ear buds then I'm cool, I'm not missing out.

I have never used Beats, I wonder if those who say they are bad have used them or just repeating what others have said (who may have never used them). Not saying they are good, just wondering why people talk crap about something they have no experience with. I would love to see real tests of them, not opinions. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one.

Not saying they are good, just wondering why people talk crap about something they have no experience with. I would love to see real tests of them, not opinions. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one.

In terms of build quality, price, and sound quality I have to say V-moda's are the best I've seen.
From what I know, beats aren't bad. They are just overpriced for what they offer.

I'm an Etymotic man myself. The sound isolation is the best I've ever encountered - a godsend when travelling on noisy trains. The sound quality is superb as well; but they aren't that cheap.
The earbuds that came with the H1 suck IMO. I'm a tall guy and they are extremely short. I have a pair of Klipsch Image One headphones that work well with the one. The volume controls don't work with the H1, but the mic is supported.
I'm partial to my Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10

The htc headphones are better than the standard ones you usually get with a phone but not by much.
I'm using klipsch image s4's they isolate sound great and have an amazing fit in the ear highly recommend them, sound great with the one.
Hi guys, i've been using the headphones that come with the One since i got them, but they mysteriously stopped working yesterday. I think i may have accidentally damaged the cables, anyways.... I was wondering if anyone had any good headphones they could suggest for under $100. I've heard some really great things about the Klipsch S4A lineup from other forum members and friends, and i was just wondering if any One owners had any experience with them. :good:
Just get them they are awesome

I'll vouch for them... I've owned every set of Klipsch headphones and they all are better than any headphones you'll get with a phone. The only ones I'd recommend against are the low-end over-the-ear armature units they made on their first batch back in 2008.
I bought a pair of Yamaha EPH-30WH when they were on sale for $22.
Combined with Beats Audio they sound amazing! The bass is right where it needs to be, everything is so clear and I'm starting to notice instruments and effects and details in songs I just haven't been able to hear with my previous ones. Read the reviews on amazong:

I use the new urbeats .. .the sound is so clear....

I have a 2yo set of Senn IE6s. Quite nice. I paid about $100 when I got them.
I personally use the Beats Tour.
Yes, they're very expensive BUT
sound quality is really good. Compared to the stock HTC headphones that came with the One and UrBeats (I got both with my One), well... The htc and urbeats sound very dull, even though these are pretty darn good headphones too I hear people say. I gave the UrBeats to my sis whose headphones broke and kept on listening with my Tours happily. They have released a tours 2.0 though, so I'm a bit outdated now
(they also released beats studio 2.0)
I've also heard great things about V-Moda
I use some £5 monoprice in ears which are surprisingly good considering their cost.

Munito billets, nuff said. The bass on these blow beats out if the water, they look like bullets and feel more premium than beats and cost 70 bucks

The best head phones I ever bought are the incipio f38's. You can pick them up on amazon for about 30 bucks. You won't find anything under 100 bucks that performs like them.
Beats headsets are not worth the money. You are just paying to give dr dre free advertising with that big ugly logo on the side. Children in korea or China made them at a cost of 20 bucks max they do sound good but not for what you pay for them. Im rocking sonix 3s headset they are the best ear buds I have ever had they match the htc one style perfect too.

Hi thanks man, ive done a bit of research and they look pretty good.
I've been trying out a variety of earbuds lately with my HTC One and between the Sony MH1C, V Moda Remix and Munitio Billets, I'll say I'm very happy with the Sony buds. The clarity of the frequency range(1 Hz-20kHz) is very nice, well-controlled and works for a variety of genres and it's one of the few earbuds/headsets where I've not heard that annoying static/hiss during quieter parts of songs. All three of those earbuds go for around $30-40, but the MH1C I was only able to get for that price at Negri, otherwise they go for $80 direct from Sony.
Beats headphones are garbage. They leak sound like crazy and all they focus on is bass. The clarity is terrible.

I have a set of Sony XBA-1's and I love them. They do a great job of balancing out the Beats over bassing of everything. They are highly reviewed abd very affordable. I got them on clearance at Target for $21

3rd party compatibility
Has anybody experienced issues where 3rd party (cheap) headphones don't work properly?
I have tried about 4 different ones, and with all of them there are problems. One of them skips tracks and adjusts volume when you wiggle the jack plug, others register single click as a go back to previous track.
Only the ones that came with the phone work correctly in all areas, but i have got audio coming out of only one side so need to replace them.
Got some official ones ordered from the site, but they were £30. Is this a common issue with the HTC one? Or could my phone be damaged?
Thank you.
i've tested Sony and Bose from two friends for a week, after i decided that my beats makes me happier
