I know, I know its apple but I've read some reviews and they seem to be getting decent remarks and for $29 they don't seem to be that bad of a deal. They should be leaps better then the headphones that came with the galaxy nexus. So is anybody planning on trying them out? Anybody already used them?

I wouldn't bother. You can save up a little more and get something decent, like Sennheisers.

i've heard from equal sources that they're good and bad, i agree though, save up and get something nice. Please not beats tho
I wouldn't get beats. Maybe klipsch s4's although I would only get the apple ear pods because they seem robust and would survive being in my pocket.

I'm this sooo close to buying them. Cuz I hate the headphones that come with Nexus. They always pop out. At least these apple headphones won't pop out as easily.

Go spend $15-20 on a pair of skullcandy buds and you'll get a great pair of headphones without paying an arm and a leg for decent sounding headphones.
My skullcandy buds work perfectly fine for me, they are crisp, clear, and sound great. Plus they come with 3 different sizes to change from if they don't fit snug in your ear.

If you ask any audiophile what headphone is the best, they'll tell you it doesn't matter. If your audio file is a high quality (256kbps+) then it'll sound good no matter what headphones you use. In fact, most audiophiles use cheap $10 generic earbuds as opposed to something more expensive.

TJ Maxx has soem nice $8 ifrogz
or get something better, with audio if you go cheap, really go cheap, there is no point in spending "a little bit more"
Either buy what you really want or head to TJ Maxx.
A lot of people talk about lack of bass because they don't know how to insert in ear phones properly. Even on expensive phones.
Good headphones with clear mids and airy highs will really disappoint you if you don't master this skill as they will sound utterly unbalanced and unfun if you don't get a good deal on your ear canals.
Figured i add something even more useful than the initial advice you might not see as one.

I've done a lot of research and this seems to be the consensus: They're better than the old pack ins, but not near as good as Apple's claims.
This dude hated them:
http://gizmodo.com/5943222/apple-earpods-review-less-terrible-still-garbage
This dude thought they were alright, but preferred a certain $7 set of earbuds:
http://thewirecutter.com/2012/09/testing-the-apple-earpods-vs-our-favorites-headphones/
And I ordered said certain set of earbuds to see what the hype is all about. Apparently if you want to step up from these $7 earbuds, the next best sounding ones are $90 Velodynes. That sounds pretty amazing, but I will know first hand in a few days.
Oh yeah, those $7 ones:
http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-headphones-under-30/
best in ear buds i've ever used were the Monster Turbine's
I know they're from Monster, but damn, the clarity, bass, and mid to high's are great.
i think the apple earpod's are a welcome change from the previous version.

I am involved in competitive cycling and use these for my ride also. Even after a 6 or 7 hour bike ride I can't even tell that I have had earphones in my ear. Just be sure to try the different size gel pieces. I believe they come with size medium on them so when I first tried them it wasn't a great fit. I put on the large and it fit like it was made for my ear.

I've tried headphones a fifth of the price that have 90% of the sound quality so I wouldn't burn my money on having a designer label, and anyway the S3 sound quality really isn't that good compared to even some other phones I tried.
The sound quality of yhe earphonea are great. I dont think anyone is expecting a studio surround sound out of the phone. Its bot just about the sound quality. Its so nice to have an in ear earphone that you dont have to worry abiut falking out or being pulled out of the ear. Its worth it if you can.

Klipsch makes possibly the best in ear headphones out there...
They dont stay in the ear like bose earphones though. sound quality may be better, but I from experience can tell you that the bose is more comfortable, stays in the ear until you dont want them to be there anymore and the cables are damn near tangle proof.
Have a look at this comparison thread. It's the most comprehensive unbiased test I've found on the Internet
At $100 the Shure SE215 scored as well or better than many sets that cost 3x more.
If you are going to invest in a quality set, make sure they have replaceable cables since that is the most likely point of failure over time.
I've got a set of the Gen1 in-ear that I've had for years and love them. I recently added a set of the Gen2 inserts (you can swap them out on the holder style) and they are even better! They stay put when running/riding/lifting and you don't even realize you have them in. Definitely worth it.
Bose is not as good as everyone thinks they are. Who told you that Bose makes quality products? Heard it from a family member? A post on the Internet? Just google Bose quality or similar topics. My $5 pair of in-ear phones from Big Lots sound and feel good.

Bose are good but nowhere near as good as the price you paying for them, because Bose is like a designer label and a lot of people pay more because of who they are not what they do.
You are intitled to your opinion, but I highly disagree. I have had several pair of $20-$40 earbuds. Several because they were only good for a minimal time frame. made a step up to $60-$100 sets and there was a considerable difference in quality. 3 pair of $100 sets and lastly bought my bose IE2 and they are by FAR the best set I have had, sound quality and comfort.
but like i said, you are totally entitled to think what you want. each person has different experiences when comparing products.
Cheers

I'm really happy with my Dre tours. Had a chance to test 3. I liked them in this order based on sound quality.
1. Bose
2. Dre tours
3. Dre beats
Fitment for me probably goes in that same order. I got the tours because I got a wicked deal on them and the quality was real close with the Bose.
Edit: Don't know about the accessories with the Bose. But the tours come with a nice semi hard case, and ear clips. Beats come with a soft bag type deal and no ear clips. Both with an array of different sizes and styles of tips.

I've had Klipsch S4i's, which weren't bad, but my Shure SE215's are far better.
Your best bet is to spend some time at www.head-fi.org and pick a price point you're comfortable with.

Took the words right out of my mouth...errr fingers I guess.
I'm partial to shure's. I have a set of the 535. Been slowly upgrading to them over the past few years. Find a set that hits your price point. Otherwise the klipsh is decent as is Sennheiser.
I can sometimes wear my set for at least 4 hours at a time. So comfort is important. I'd recommend that you make sure to get a set that was multiple buds to try so you are comfortable.
Again stay away from Beats and Bose. And don't get that stupid beats add-on for a rom on this phone. Without the hardware to support it, it sounds bad.

Well as everyone knows Beats are ridiculously overpriced, the sound they provide is nowhere near the price they charge, yes they do look nice but just way too expensive. So I shopped around and found what are essentially beats without the same price tag (RRP they are but sell for much cheaper on ebay), the headphones I refer to are the Monster Purity HD's. As everyone knows Monster makes Beats, the Purity HD's are essentially Solo HD's with a rectangular ear cup, slightly less bass and clearer sound. Same headband and everything, really nice looking cans, got them today after winning them on ebay for £38 brand new and sealed.
I think the reason for how cheap they sell is they have been made in conjunction with Nokia for WP7 phones so uninformed people dont realise they are made by the same company as beats and think they are Nokia headphones, good news is also the cable with the ControlTalk controls works right out of the box with the S3, that means answer/end calls, play/pause music, turn volume up/down using the controller without ever touching your phone. Awesome. Anyway thought it might be of use to people who like the look of beats but not the pricetag they come with. Enjoy.
Thanks for the heads up. I've started shopping around as well and couldn't justify dropping the $$$ on Bose or those Beats headphones. I'll take a look at these.

However for my ears the fit with any of the included tips is terribly uncomfortable and fall out pretty easily, but I've also never found any in-ear earbuds that actually feel comfortable and stay in anyway so take that for what it's worth. I may have the unpopular opinion, but I have to give my good graces and kudos to the new Apple earpods. I have had the old earbuds and now the new pods. The difference is extraordinary. I am hearing clear differences between the two. I don't ever use stock music players with my phones, even though I've found the stock music players in both the Note I and II, are really great. I use third party music players because there's usually much more customization. With the player I use and their enhanced bass settings, plus the new Apple earpods, I am hearing extreme bass and really clear sound in all of my music... sounds I don't recall hearing with the old Apple earbuds.
Also, unlike with the Note I and/or the old Apple earbuds, the new earpods actually work with the Note II as a functioning headset! Found it out by sheer accident. They have never worked with any other Android phone, so I never tried. A friend called me while I was listening to music, and I answered the call before I attempted to disconnect the earpods. That's when I heard my friend talking through the headphones. I said, "Hello" and he heard me... loud and clear according to him. I was super excited! So for only $29.99, you may wanna try these. If you can get em from Best Buy, you can try them out and if you don't like them, you can return them within the window of returns for a full refund. You can't beat the price, especially if you end up liking them.
I love these threads
I want the BEST earphones, i don't care what they are, I want the BEST....as long as its under $50
The BEST in my opinion? Westone 4R. Aural bliss
Best headphones money can buy
For around 90 bucks, you can pick up a pair of sure se215's. Just look around you can get them on the cheap, and you will be hard pressed to find a better pair of headphones in this price range. They sound better than the Klipsch s4's but are a little more pricey, and they have a very nice fit.
I love the sound of the Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi buds. I've tried a bunch, and they are the best I've heard. But, if you're going to be rough on them, expect to buy a new cable every 6 months or so.
Lately, for just walking around and listening to podcasts, I've been using the Plantronics BackbeatGO (they were on sale at BestBuy for $80, you can get them at Amazon for $75 now). Only 4.5 hours of battery at a time, but if that's long enough for you, they are incredibly comfortable and not bad sounding.
Hello Oners I didn't see a earphone thread so ta da. Discuss what you use and what you advice and maybe links to where you can get them from. I'll start off by saying I'm using the apple earpods. I know I know I know... they work great Mic and play pause but no vol.

If you are looking at $100 headphone consider the Klipsch X10s. They originally retailed for $350 and are some of the most comfortable and best sounding in ear headphones on the market. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Image-X10-Noise-Isolating-Earphone/dp/B000WAHFBK They were doing a sale a while ago for $89.99 but they can still be found on ebay for $100.
If you are not wanting to spend that amount go for the Klipsch Reference S4 not the normal edition make sure it's the reference they are amazing for their cost. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Reference-S4i-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B005ZNHK4Q/ref=pd_cp_e_2 still $49.99 they will destroy all in ear headphones under $100.

This is what I'm currently using and was told by several people it would support multiple phones. It does, sometimes...weird I know. The concept behind these I think is good. I personally hate bluetooth and hate earphones. These if they would work perfect the entire time I would love. I think I'm going to be taking them back to the Sprint store this week and looking in to some other options as well.
I have no problem paying the high dollar for them but only if they do everything I want.
Depends but for price the phillips she3580 or similar is a cracking match.
They share different model names but they're the same driver.
Just a tiny little bud.

Yeah got mine the other week, great sound from the headphones, nice design to go with the phone and a compatible remote. What more do you want for 30£? :good:
My headphones are Etymotic ER-4P. (This model has been discontinued, but the ER-4PT is very similar).
My requirements for headphones are somewhat unusual. First, I'm partially deaf, which means I need high-end sound quality. There is obviously a point of diminishing returns - when the distortion/noise introduced by the phone itself is significantly greater than that introduced by the headphones; but anything less than high-end sound means I can't understand dialog in a downloaded movie or TV show. (Also, when I do listen to music, it's classical, and that is much more vulnerable to distortion than modern stuff). Second, I do a lot of listening on trains on the London Underground; shutting out as much background noise as possible is therefore a major priority.
I don't usually move around too much while listening - someone who wants to go the gym or go jogging would want a different model. And the ER-4PT is not a headset - there's no microphone, so you can't make calls with it, and there's no track-switching control. (If that's an issue then the next model down does have a headset equivalent called the HF2).
Etymotic aren't as good value now as they were when I bought mine, but sound quality is very good, and exclusion of external noise is truly superb - officially they reduce it by 35-42dB, depending on frequency. (The level of noise isolation is the same on much cheaper Etymotic models, although obviously the sound quality isn't as good).
I've got Bose AE2i and Mie2s
Works really well imo

I am considering those

what do you think?
I have a pair of the LG Tone Plus and they are awesome! 15 hours of battery life and great sound when playing your favorite jams on your HTC One! Highly recommend if you want the bluetooth kind and ability to connect two phones does work.

You should go check the Headfi forum. I'm a regular poster there. One thing to note about the HTC One is that they have excellent driving capabilities thus making the use of an external amp useless unless you're trying to drive something like K701s.
To put things into perspective, they drive my 600ohm DT880s perfectly with a mild spike in volume at about the <500Hz range.
I personally like to use them with my m100s when I'm out and about.
They should drive IEMs no problem. I would even say that they're overkill for a sensitive earphone like the S4. They sound great with se215s.
Tbh the stock IEMs are suprisingly good. Great bass extension but also a considerable amount of mid-bass hump leading to some sound corrruption in the mids. Highs are lacking but for what they are I definitely would not recommend spending 100$ for IEMs like the S4 for what is in my opinion a very mild upgrade.
Just use the stock phones.
