[APP][2.3+] [MSafe] Password Management - Testing

Hi there! I need some help testing an app I just published on the android market.
The app can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codfishworks.msafe
It's really simple to use. You just need to set a main password and you're ready to go!
The purpose of this app is to give users a way to safely store their most important passwords (bank accounts, e-commerce sites, etc).
It encodes the password using the main password (using AES) and then you can save it on a NFC tag and carry it around in their wallets, or print a QR code in a normal sheet of paper and save it on a ring-binder at home.
This is for people who don't trust the cloud or don't like writing their passwords on a piece of paper in plain text either.
I would really appreciate any honest feedback and hearing suggestions about what you would change.

Shopping List and Health Care

Hello guys i am thinking of creating an app for this platform bring the best of shopping list apps and health apps in one unified app that can all these simple works for you. Like i want the health app to fully integrated into the accounts of shopping list so that in each day you have a full report on which items where your money was spent on and i will also include both cash and bank account in case you want to beware also with how your bank account is worth. I just have one main problem the app will require the user to enter alot of items and backing up is another major problem. i need some to help me on the sync, i want the app to b able to sync may be to the users preferred email address
If you want development advice you need to ask way more specific. It sounds like you don't even know what sync is.
Or what healthcare actually means.

Gmail adduced account swap

EDIT: Mod please correct spelling in topic title. Rushing combined with no proofreading isn't good.
I searched, couldn't really find what I felt was accurate information with what little was available. I need to change Gmail cause the one associated with my DInc is years old & become cluttered with junk. I realize I can export my contacts from the original then import to the new at which point they should sync with that account.
Big question. What about apps? How can the purchase history be changed, app info backed up. Just any opinions, advice or whatever. Prefer to do it right the first time.
Basically would like to have work completely as is but with fresh address.

Since everything is associated with your Gmail account, I presume you'll have to contact Google about it. I am not sure if they've made changes to allow that or not. You also could contact the developer of the app, they may be able to help out too. It seems like it is an issue for a lot of people, so if you find an answer, please share your steps!
For apps I guess it would depend upon how you paid for them. I use Google Checkout so all my app purchases are linked to my account. The dev has to keep that information somewhere to verify that you bought it but not sure that you could get it out of them that easily a lot are just ma and pa devs and who knows what they keep around. Also not sure if Google allows you to rename your email address but it might be an option in account settings. That way you don't have to open a new account and all your Google accounts would be updated.
I went into my account but didn't see any thing in the settings which would allow you to rename the email account. Google tech support might be able to do it if you contacted them.

[Q] [FEATURE REQUEST] Facebook/Google/OpenID integration and login.

I'd like to see XDA logins be integrated with Facebook or Google or OpenID. What do you think? And, does XDA have an idea to implement this?
+1
yea, and more psudonymous collection of information which could arise in legal complications for XDA?,
No thanks
Hell, NO :banghead:
Why do people want integration? Can't you remember your password?
The less sharing between websites the better of personal data and information.
I want this, since i most often forget my passwords, lost a reddit account once.

openID doesn't require any sharing of data beyond the identity itself, requires users approve what personal information is shared if more than just identity, and would be optional for those who would wish their login be completely separate from any other online identity. many users already provide Google email addresses, Facebook account information, paypal account information and other personally identifying information in their profile. openID would also allow people to login using their own trusted methods, rather than hoping this site is never compromised along with its password database. check out stackexchange; they've got openID sign in done right. since its the future and all, I should be able to have /one/ online identity, which I can manage myself (without google or facespace), and use that identity on any other site if I choose. and I for one like having one less password.

Erm. Dropbox?
There are a host of threads on this bud.

if security is a must take a look at wuala, not as user friendly as dropbox but it is secure.

For non-personal data (video, photo) -> Dropbox/Boxee/Skydrive depending on your need.
For personal data (personal documents) -> Wuala (Secured, none except you can access your files, not even Wuala. Files get encrypted before sending to server).

Let's face it. Depending what you are tyring to secure, nothing is unbreakable. Whoever develops the encryption, generally has a back door. Be sure NSA, has a way.So nothing is safe. You have to develop other ways to be secure.
This is from Wuala's "About us"
"Nobody - not even we as storage provider - can access your data without your authorization. "
Your authorization is the key word here.
Then read in fine detail in the EULA what you Agreed To, when you accepted the use of their software.
+1 for Wuala, even hosted my ROM there, but I'll also be using Dropbox a bit more now thanks to HTC
Bottom line, they're both very good in my experience.
In my opinion Dropbox gives a really good service with an awesome integration on our Android phones. If you've got a data plan there are more possibilities, for example you can share a photo/video/data with your friends in a public folder so your friends can check out this folder whenever they want.
Definitely, Dropbox is gorgeous
Dropbox for me is better than sugarsync or box.net, the weak point only give 2.5 GB

I'm not saying it unbreakable, just less breakable then Dropbox. Which is important if there are some personal documents in it.

But what kind of documents are we talking about here? A shopping list? A degree certificate? A CV? People really fuss about personal security nowadays. I believe dropbox when they say that they're not giving out information without a court order and even then inform the user first. Why? Because if there was a single substantial case that they provided information with less than that, they'd soon be out of business. Hello anonymous-and-whatever-else-backed ****storm.
Let's face it, 99.98% of us aren't important enough to be spied upon in a cautiously planned and we'll executed manner. And even then we should be rather worried about our post, calls and home.
A social security number? Credit card pin? Dropbox + Keepass ftw.

Nah It's not because I'm paranoid, I just prefer my documents like college stuff, bank account stuff (not the login info obviously), bills, contracts to be encrypted before they are uploaded.
If you can encrypt your documents for free anyway, why don't do so? (You never know if Dropbox/Wuala get hacked, I rather have a little layer of security then).
besides wuala is cheaper
In my opinion Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, and SkyDrive will be the perfect fit for the mentioned task. From the box android app when you signup you get 50 GB free space for life time. It a free app and easy to use and with Dropbox, you will get 5GB of storage free. You may also browse some useful information on best cloud storage providers!

I use Dropbox heavily, friends around Australia all share through it so have access to all our photos and videos (we 4wd quite a lot )
Carry out as many space earning things as you can, I got 4 or 5GB doing that, plus 25GB for the one x deal and 50GB for the S3 LTE deal so currently have 80GB storage space

Sharing Google Drive Access with Apps...

Is there any inherent risks in allowing applications to have access to your Google Drive? It sure is handy for apps to read/write directly to GDrive, but I wonder about the risks.
Any thoughts on this?

What? No opinions??
Id say there is a risk. Which is why you are asked if it is a trusted source. If you are just doing it for a file manager similar things it Might be Better to use a networked share from a PC. Like cifs or sshfs instead of clouds and dropboxes.
Thanks.
The reason I asked was b/c I was using Kingsoft Office (a MS Office-type app) to edit a personal doc I store in Google Drive. Since I needed to get the edits done, I "allowed" access. Then I reconsidered, thinking - who knows who Kingsoft is? Who know what they might do with access to my Google account (whatever level of access that is)?
So I immediately removed access to my Google Drive, changed my Google account password, and put the doc in my Dropbox account - which I never use and is empty except for this one doc. I pointed Kingsoft to Dropbox. So now I have what I want - universal access to a specific doc from a couple of different apps on different platforms.
I think I am OK at this point. I don't ever expect to use my Dropbox for anything besides this one doc, since I use Google doc for everything else that I do.
have you thought if double auth for your gmail account?

I used double-auth for my Google account a few years back, and there was something about it that was a major PIA. Don't recall what that was. But I think a new, very strong password should do the trick.
At least I hope so...
