Patiently waiting - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Until one of our talented developers port the gs4 software to our gs3. Can't wait to see what the big deal is.
I love the 90s. Good times.

Well hardware wise its quite a big deal. Camera battery and display alone are enough for most people . throw in a hefty cpu and new version of gorilla glass ir port fitness accessories. Well it speaks for itself . Software wise though its not mind blowing past the s3...

I have an upgrade this summer. I'm considering getting it
I love the 90s. Good times.

I'm really looking forward to it. The stability of the touchwiz we already know, plus the features of 4.2 that we previously only had access to through aosp roms. Sounds really cool to me.

Theres a flashable in the "extras" section with all the S4 stuff (BUT DO NOT FLASH). You can use a root browser to place the apks in the right places.

If it can work on AOSP, that means its self-contained so most likely yes. Make a backup just in case though

It's a ROM though, for a different phone lol... I don't get what ya'll are talking about? Are you talking about downloading the RO then extracting the individual APKs and putting them on your phone?! If that's the case, would it work, cause I'ma do it if so lol.

Wow hahaa didn't even see that! But those aren't any GS4 apps, it's just the launcher which was not what I was looking for. I thought there was actual GS4 apps (Paper Artist, S4 Camera, etc.) that would work with an AOSP ROM.

Well then sorry to disappoint.

It's strange to me that AT&T would be the ones to lock the bootloader. That's usually VZW's position.

Unfortunately it says the the report wasn't confirmed by Samsung, and it also says that its still gonna have to go through the carriers... dunno how att is because I'm new but I know vzw is a huge Hassel when it comes to pushing through any upgrades. Hopefully the code Samsung wrote form its handset gets leaked though because then we will have the capability to flash it without waiting for carrier approval.

Despite the fact that it's not really official (no Samsung confirmation) it's still good news. I doubt this would be an invented news, there's gotta be some truth behind it... now as for the carriers' part in this, that's another matter!

My theory is that the Jelly Bean leak since is actually a Sammy leak and is still being worked on by Tmobile and AT&T uses the almost the same kernel both d2 the devices. The new jelly bean leak has LTE settings in it meaning that you can set AT&T LTE/PTA APN settings and use 4G LTE in theory. Their are risk because the leak contains a new baseband, you can always reflash back to an older baseband though so this is not the biggest deal. The update does not include a new bootloader so no worries their. And you can always flash back to ICS. In my mind this may be worth fixing up a few files to see if it works. I'm going to give a try. I'll report back.
Looking forward to what you uncover drew

The system and everthing seems to copy over fine, it's the kernel that's giving me trouble right now. I'm going to work on it some more and see what I can find out, but by that time I'm sure an AT&T version will be out.
I'm still working on it and will continue.

I wouldn't say that. Lots of ports been done from one phone to another where the hw was completely different. Of course the more closely related the easier, but still.
For example I have seen touchwiz ported to htc devices and vice versa.

Why no official jellybean ROMs for sprint gnex

There's no official jellybean roms for the sprint gnex since the ota rolled out. Well there is one but not very good =[
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I wonder the same while the roms here are good they run on a universal aosp code Toroplus isn't a part of it. They should update it with ota which seems to be newer but in any case built specifically for it and thus optimized

The Sprint JB OTA had different binaries which I believe most Toroplus JB ROMs have already incorporated. CM10 has, for sure. The ROMs were already JB so when the OTA came out the only thing to update was the binaries and the radio if you hadn't already flashed sextape's leak.
You were asking about Paranoid Android in the thread. If you flash the nightly that gangsterjoop compiled it contains the updated binaries.
Also, have respect. If you don't like a ROM, fine. But don't say it's "not very good". At the very least give specifics about where it could be improved.

I am running ver 2 without any issues and floating windows works as well..I installed ver 2 and chose any tweaks I wanted, I did choose nova launcher and I had faux kernel from our thread ready to flash and also our csc files from Nuns post. However , after flashing and the infamous system ui crash I rebooted and fix permissions in twrp and that was fixed. All worked except camera. So I flashed stock att kernel and bam....cam fixed...I have since flashed the sony walkman apk with xperia launcher and am using that as launcher and saber kernel and its running like a scolded dog.....it really is a nice rom... I also couldnt get samsung keyboard to stop force closing but any other one works fine.....
Update......stock keyboard is working fine now after flashing xperia launcher........
So we can flash any N1075 roms as long as we flash one of our kernels with? What about modem?
Big dogs on the block, NOTE 1&2

Looks like we may get official 4.4 next year

Many of which run just as well....IMHO

My device has never responded to my liking running a bloated stock build....
That just simply isn't me...as I prefer a stripped down and fast acting build which I have...
Our devs have offered us more than a few quality substitutes for what our carriers force down our throats...
Many of which run just as well....IMHO
It's not a contest ...and folks can run what they like...as stable builds are abundant for us here...g

Rember the Kitkat update is for all phones because of the minimum ram usage. So I think a lot of phones will get the update maybe even older ones like galaxy s2 lol but ultimately it is up to phone companies.

Just like the galaxy nexus got the update too right? Don't hold your breath for s2 getting anything beyond 4.1.2. I was optimistic too until Google pulled the plug on the gnex

frankly, there is little chance of this phone getting 4.4 officially; its obvious that all phone mfgs want to try and force folks who want the latest and greatest OS, to buy whatever phone is new at the time, so they can further empty your pockets...
It will probably be on the Note 4 whenever that comes out next year..

Really impressed with HTC lately the one has gotten many updates plus I read that HTC already announced kit kat. Thinking of getting the "one" refurbished for zero down on T-Mobile. Plus the fact that google Released The GPE also helps...Samsung use to be good about updating but now they just want to cram features down our throat than update what we already have. Will probably stick with note tablets as all those features are really useful on a tablet especially for multi tasking

will not hold my breath
Doubtful
I highly doubt 4.4 will come to note 2. Plus, in one year practically every one with a note 2 will be ready for the two year upgrade.
