Is it possible to flash twrp through my phone without using a pc? How can I do it?
Sent from my SGH-T999V using xda app-developers app
You can flash it through recovery, if you already have a custom recovery. If you do not, the only other way is Mobile ODIN (from the Play Store), and you need to be rooted for that to work.
If your phone is already rooted, install the Goo Manager app from the PlayStore and select Install OpenRecovery Script from its menu. That will download and flash TWRP. Be sure Goo is granted root access.

It should automatically search for the recovery intended for the phone, which in this case is the d2tmo. Can you provide a screenshot of exactly what is being displayed?

Hmm, interesting. If you are 100% ABSOLUTELY sure your phone is a Tmobile T999 phone, then I would follow the alternative installation instructions on TWRP's website for the d2tmo version.
Nah he's good. He's s got the correct one. didn't notice the V haha..

Just for the record, the d2 recoveries are interchangeable to the best of my knowledge. They all go to the same partition, so no bricks. However, if you don't get the proper one, no assert checks will pass.

Go post your question in the Q&A section.. Here
You are actually using rom manager with twrp? Lol what?
Uninstall ROM Manager...its absolutely useless if your using TWRP. You'll need to reinstall TWRP recovery. If you don't know how to then follow the link below.

+1 ROM Manager and TWRP do not play nice together. If your recovery doesn't work now, download the latest Odin TWRP version and flash it with Odin. Then try rebooting into recovery and you should be OK.
You don't need ROM manager. You can really eff yourself if you are running TWRP as your recovery and try doing stuff with that app.
You can flash TWRP with the Goo Manager app in the Play Store...

But yeah, only use one at a time. CWM Touch (sk8erwitskil's version) or TWRP. BUT NEVER BOTH!
Or actually sk8rs recovery because its from koush but modded. Rom manager sucks.. If you use rom manager, you are DEFinetly NOOB.. cant hang with the big boys/slim girls and use your actual phone.
Thank you for your contribution to the t989 development.

You don't need a computer to get root, it's not a requirement.
You need to download an app from the play store called Mobile Odin, with that you
can odin flash the required file to get root as well as flash the required cwm zip file
which is required to get root in the galaxy S4.

Yes, i'm pretty sure you're gonna need a computer to root. I don't even think mobile odin is compatible with our phone yet. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
The other guy is high, you need to be rooted to use mobile Odin, there is no way of rooting this phone without a computer, sucks I know.
