JB Glitch: shuts off on pics with flash - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Any time I attempt to take a picture and all settings on auto including flash; the phone just completely shuts off as I take the pic. Happens only when flash turns on for the pic.
Any one else experience this, might only happen if battery level is under 50%.. Never happened with ics, only after my stock JB update
Only happens when picture is of something close up...very strange.

Tis an isolated incident my lad. Maybe is time for ye to ROOT!!!

If you ever get a clock with the wrong time on occasion it might be the RTC battery. If the flashlight kills it also it could be a flex cable coming loose.
If you hard reboot by holding power and the LED flashes it is a bad capacitor on the board.

No usually under 20% . You can try another gallery apk from another rom and sometimes that fixes it too.

Phone turns off atleast twice a day:(

Hey all, I'm running Juggernaut v4.1.
Recently my phone has started turning off randomly. It seems to shut down mostly when charging but it did it the other day while it was unplugged.
Anyone having this problem?
I missed my alarm this morning because my damn phone turned off so I missed my last chance to see my uncle before they pulled the plug in him

That's weird you guys are experiencing issues like that... I used the same for over a month and never experienced anything like that.
have you flashed any themes, perhaps a kernel?
Give this one a shot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22007149
I've been running it since it was released and it's running great. I haven't come across anything, really smooth and good battery life.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
There are many things that can cause this. First, is the phone overheating? (Overclocking can do that, and I think juggernaut uses bullet kernel with default settings, meaning it's overclocked to 1.6 by default.)
Also, I remember there is a bug in Juggernaut with the lockscreen. Are you guys using the circle lock screen? And if so, did you add a 3rd shortcut? That will cause hot reboots.
If you aren't using the circle lockscreen, I'd suggest first, trying another kernel, and make sure it doesn't overclock/undervolt by default. (Some phones can handle this better than others).
My phone was doing this when i got back from a couple week trip.i don't see how leaving it shut off for so long cause it.i just re flashed the ROM with the darkside kernel and have yet to see any issues....knock on wood.lol

Happened to me before, missing the alarm (not the uncle part, sorry about that)
Its the bullet kernel, flash any other kernel and it should do the trick.
The ones I recommend would be Darksides kernel or Eugenes
Thanks for all the replys.
I will definitely try flashing a different kernel.
I haven't been using circle lock screen so sounds like that may help.
Will keep you updates.

FC05 Bugs

hey guys just wanted to share what I found:
-Clicking the graph in battery results in FC
-Some apps seem to be laggier and tend to hang frozen and then resume (happens sometimes)
Those are the only bugs I've noticed other than one from gingerbread which is the screen lock delay caused by an external sd card or something. I really thought they'd fix that by now. But we are close for a final release cause not so many bugs!

Is anyone else experiencing heavy fluctuations in reported signal strength? My phone goes from reporting four bars to zero seemingly randomly. Data speeds aren't as bad as I would expect with zero bars, so I'm assuming that it's just an error with strength reporting.

I am going to bounce around NYC tomorrow on FC05 and see how it does with signal strength. I know that the signal bars are almost never right on my NS4G since the 1st ICS leak came out. I will occasionally show no bars but everything functions fine...we'll see if the same is true on FC05 tomorrow

TweetCaster causing serious heating??

Ok, I just want to see if anyone else is having this problem. Ive found that tweetcaster on any ICS rom ive tried seems to cause major heating. I know ICS leaked builds have had this issue in general, but I just want to know if anyone else is encounteering the same problem.
Cpu usage gets to about 47% and then the phone will get super hot, and then of course battery takes a nose dive. I hate to switch twitter apps, but its the best one out there for most. any input from people that are using it.
oh yeah follow me on twitter lol @yungjuice216 haaaa

The onething I noticed that the Android percentage dropped from 63% to 39% when I reviewed what was using my battery. Anyone else seen this? Agats 2.2 kernel is the one I installed.

I thought it was bad at first but yesterday I got 12 hours and today so far its at 11 hours and 30 min's and is still at 57%. Its only gonna get better cause the OS is still the highest thing draining my battery so its still pulling the stats. I think its good battery life.
Same as flashing any ROM. It takes a couple of days for the battery to settle into the ROM. The first couple of charge cycles are probably gonna be garbage. After a few days you should be fine. Don't worry about all the whiners.
I think people been exaggerating the battery drain.. It hasn't been bad.. Just gotta give stuff time to settle in and stop tweaking stuff and always changing up something... I been having great battery with heavy usage

Normally no...if the phone is not used at all and screen off. Of course that also depends on how many widgets you have and how often you get updates among a whole slew of other things (such as wifi, bt, gps always on, custom roms, signal strength, etc). I would recommend Better Battery Stats as it can help you pinpoint what is draining your battery the most and if there are any wakelock issues.

Perhaps someone else here in the forum can point you into a more specific direction. At least with the screenshots loaded you give everyone here a chance to pinpoint the issues and assist. Wish I could be of more assistance but I have never encountered or read much on this issue.
