Unknown Imei and baseband, no network. Help needed - HTC One X

Hello
In advance, sorry for my bad english !
I have serious problem with my HOX since 2 week. After flashing Viper rom, I lost my Imei. I do everything : relock and unlock bootloader, install stock rom, ruu rom (ICS and JB) all version, restore from nandroid backup that I've do before, install almost all rom (Viper, Blade, Orio, Arhd, Insercoint...) but nothing :crying:, always unknown baseband and imei !
And what's weird, when I do "fastboot getvar all" from hboot I get this :
C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5a
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.39.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 5.1204.162.29
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 3.14.401.31
(bootloader) serialno: HT243Wxxxxxxx
(bootloader) imei: 359188xxxxxxxxx
(bootloader) product: endeavoru
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-T30S
(bootloader) modelid: PJ4610000
(bootloader) cidnum: HTC__001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4151mV
(bootloader) devpower: 100
(bootloader) partition-layout: None
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: None
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 2
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!
I think that my Imei and basband are here, but how to get it work in this phone ?
In Samsung phones, imei and baseband are stored in "EFS" folder, and it's possible to restore it, but where and how in HOX ?
Help really needed

Flash the boot.img from the ROM zip.
Steps -
1. Connect your phone to the computer.
2. Open your fastboot folder. Extract your boot.img here.
3. Hold shift and do a right click. Click open command Window here.
4. In cmd, type - adb reboot-bootloader
5. Once the phone displays "FASTBOOT USB" on the screen, type in cmd - fastboot flash boot boot.img
6. After it has finished flashing the boot, in cmd type - fastboot erase cache
7. Disconnect phone and reboot in recovery.
8. Reflash ROM
9. Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache
10. Reboot.
P. S. - Take off your Imei no. And serial number. It may be used for bad purposes

Thank's, but not work, I'm on stock rom 3.20. I almost try all roms, all kind of recovery and boot.img with no chance. Now I'm looking for radio.img, maybr will work if I flash it from bootloader.
p.s : I change the imei number before post it, thank

I have the same problem, fastboot getvar all, also shows the correct imei.
I tried RUU, reflash of rom, reflash of boot.img of which nothing improved the situation.
As I returned my phone for warranty it was turned down because I unlocked the phone. The replacement would have cost me 360€ witch is too much money, for repairing a phone.
This problem may be a hardware fault and might be impossible to fix without a new mainboard.
But if someone does come up with a solution i would be keen to hear it.

Its a very common problem only with viper rom. There is no solution.

It's a common problem but not only with viper rom.
Samsung phones have the same problem (unknow imei and baseband), but it's simple to restore it, because all is in "EFS" folder (in Galaxy phone).
That's why I think (I hope) that htc phones have a solution, but how ?

I had exactly the same problem. Tried installing several roms and kernels but nothing made it work. After messing around for a few hours I solved it.
This is what dit the trick for me
- Whipe everything (cache, dalvik, data)
- Flash boot.img found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836919
- Whipe cache & dalvik
- Flash the ordroid rom
- Whipe cache again
- Reboot
For some reason this solved the problem

Thank you but it does not work for me, maybe it's because of the version 3.20.
I also want to know what recovery you used TWRP or stock, and the version of the Ordroid rom.

I followed your steps. Bootloader shows radio version 5.1204.167.31. So I downloaded Endeavoru_Radio_5.1204.167.31.zip and flashed it using cwm touch 6.0.4.7. But still Baseband version is unknown. No network, no wifi, no bluetooth. Please help me!!

easy answer
the answer is easy you need to install a new kernel !!! i am having the same problem every time that i install a new rom like Slim rom 4.4.4 and i am have for kernel endeavoru kk karnel 015m and is very smooth ! try it ! just install a new kernel !

Hi, i need a help with this problem.
Yesterday i bought htc one x, but i cant connect to a mobile network, airplane mode continuosly turning off, IMEI and Baseband numbers are unknown.
What should i do now, can i fix that issue?
The phone was never been used for instaling custom roms, bootloader is locked, here is the all informations that i got in fastboot mode:
LOCKED
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.73.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-5.1204.167.31
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH : OFF
Jun 21 2013, 18:24:41
and here is what i got with fastboot getvar all command:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
I readed somewhere that i can fix that problem with returning to stock RUU, but i also read that i cant downgrade if i am S-ON. I dont want to brick my device so i'm asking here for help.
Can anyone please help me with this, i will provide every informations you need.
Also to mention that i have all drivers instaled, htc sync installed and deleted, fastboot and adb drivers, android sdk manager, google usb drivers, flashtool and surly some more drivers, so i can start to do what you sad to me immedietly.
Tell me if i need something more. Thanks

This is the link to download the last virtuous infinity rom. I suggest you to wipe factory reset, cache and davilik cache before installing.
On my DHD this rom works great, also the camera!
Hope this will be usefull
It's always recommend to do a full wipe before installing a new ROM.

How recovery you use? CWM or 4EXT?
Wipe this:
Data/factory reset
Boot
System
Data
Cache
Dalvik cache.
If you use 4ext, go into wipe format menu and select: format all partition (except sdcar)
Try this and post the results.
Sorry for my bad english

I use this rom everyday and it is really stable and smooth! Everything works on my DHD and it works great! I follow some suggestion on the virtuous infinity thread, I reccomend you to read the other user experiences, issues, suggestions etc. .
Let me know as soon as you try to install it if everything works great.

Maybe try a different SD Card.
Try version 1.35 first. Here the link:
Rapidgator
Virtuous Mirror
MD5: b5a1cecd1c743b8b92a50f59dbba1d5c
Always remember to check MD5
If this does not work try a different sd card

hey im sorry i couldnt reply any sooner
after downloading the 1.35 beta1
made a full wipe
and flashed it
it tells me installation complete , and when it reboots it get stuck on the boot screen
that is a glowing V as it did in the older ver(1.33 alpha3)
i think the first thing to do is to try to change the sd card
i will do it now
but i just woke up and my phone doesnt have enough juice....waiting for it to recharge
if changing the sd card didnt work
should i consider downloading the 4EXT?........
will it make any difference
im on CWM5.0.2.0
OR
is there something wrong with my mobile cause as far as this goes
im the only case on the internet
i did found this link which is similar to mine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652055
but i didnt fully understand the process of flashing the boot.img
azzledazzle said:
you have to use the boot.img for which ever ROM you want to flash.. E.G - You cant flash boot.img from a ROM based on 1.70/8 RUU if the ROM you want is based on a 1.53 RUU..... or vice versa, you catch my drift.
where i can get the boot.img
and how to install it
so i did a little sniffing regarding the installation of boot.img
and i found this
http://forums.infectedrom.com/showthread.php/1711-Bootloops-with-all-new-roms
its a boot loop.
Try the following steps,
1. go to recovery > wipe & factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, go to mounts and storage, wipe system, data, cache, sd card... everything u can find there... wipe all..
2. in recovery DO NOT REBOOT, turn off phone
3. go to android development of evo 3d gsm, find a rom, for example mikrunny 1.06, open the archive extract the boot.img from the kernel folder.
4. assuming u have android sdk installed on ur computer, make a new folder and from the android sdk tools copy adb.exe, fastboot.exe, adbwinapi.dll (exact same files u used to unlock bootloader). also in this folder put that boot.img you extracted from the rom
5. put that folder in C:\
6. get back to phone , still DO NOT BOOT UP YET, and power up phone in bootloader mode (vol down & power) and go to fastboot
7. connect phone to pc in fastboot usb mode
8. open command prompt, type cd c:\"folder" ("folder" = folder u created with the sdk tools)
9. type in cmd: fastboot flash boot boot.img
10. after it's completed, go to recovery, still do not boot up phone
11. in recovery go to mounts and storage, usb storage and now copy the whole rom and nothing but the rom on the sd card
12. install zip from sdcard, select rom and let it install, it should boot up automatically
i dont know but it probably happened because i tried to install the MIUI rom
it gave the (status 7) error
people are having bad times after this error
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773370
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009587
so anyway if changing th sd card didnt work i will try to use the boot.img method
but i have to ask
in the kernel folder there is multiple boot.img files

Flashing a radio won't wipe your device.
Copy the img to your adb folder, enter your phone in fastboot mode, connect your phone to pc with usb cable, open a command window in your adb folder and type: fastboot flash radio radio.img*
or in this case: radio_firmware.img
and fastboot reboot.

Just tried to flash the stock recovery and got an error in twrp. S-off as well.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Just rooted/s-off my device and decided to factory reset it to start using it for regular usage. I accidentally clicked erase internal storage in tmrp recovery and deleted the whole os on the phone as well. Is there any way to side load a rom with recovery to get the phone to boot up again or is my phone practically a brick till a RUU is released. Anyway I can sideload you backup? This has never happened to me some I'm nervous as hell
Has anyone have success pushing the radio.img ,I'm at work now so I can't test it.
Update: I get a message" FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
My apologies, I attempted to restore the NAND Backup in this post, and I immediately get an error in TWRP

Day 2 with my T-Mobile M8 and I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP, and attempted to S-off with no luck as Firewater doesn't work with all HTC One M8's at the moment. So my bootloader says **Tampered** and **Unlocked** ... Still S-On
It wasn't until after that I noticed I have a defective display and have to take the device back. Read the OP and I'm not 100% clear what I need to do to get my unit back to 100% stock with the bootloader back to normal. Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

In the OP you'll find the stock TWRP nandroid backup and the stock recovery.
Download the nandroid backup, extract it and copy it to the twrp folder in the sdcard then restore it via TWRP recovery.
Download the stock recovery and flash it via fastboot, the command is: fastboot flash recovery "name of recovery".img
Then lock the bootloader via fastboot too. The command is: fastboot oem lock
That's it, should be good to go.

Extract Boot image from OTA file and flash via fastboot
That's why i asked you : is there also a problem ? So then i hoped you would answer with yes, i can't use signal, mobile data and such.....
Return to your full stock rom and indeed flash the boot.img. that OTA can't be flashed as a firmware. It's done via the recovery but if it involves a hboot upgrade it's also not possible in that way.
What you can do is flash the firmware.zip that is located inside the OTA. The OTA itself is not a firmware only !
And when you install the stock rom and flashed the firmware and the imei stays away you can't fix this at home, that needs some jtag solution that is not really accessible for the "normal" user at home. You need a repair shop or HTC for that.

Mr.Hof , yesturday i took it to one mobile repairing shop and he said there is no jtag solution for this model is that true ?
If he can't s-off the device than its true. The partitions that needs rewriting are locked and you need a-off to reach it. And writing an imei just like that is illegal.....

For some reason your recovery partition is not getting written into. please double check that your bootloader is unlocked and you are S-off. if so then try the following options.
Via apps like flashify, rom toolbox pro try to flash the recovery image.
or via fastboot,
fastboot erase recovery (optional)

I have flashed several versions via flashify and fastboot. None of them load even though they flash with no errors. I also flashed an ruu of twrp that said it installed and still can not load recovery. It tries the screen says entering recovery then goes black then right back to the entering recovery screen. The phone will stay on that screen until I power it down.
can you link me to the recovery you are trying to install?

I got this phone on eBay. It came unlocked and s-off. Is super cid ok?
I looked up supercid. Yeah the person who sold it to me on eBay must have done that. Twrp was working. I did recently convert the phone from a silver case to a red one. I wonder if that has something do with it not loading. Everything on the phone works accept the recovery.

Here is a link to the latest version I have tried. This one too will not load.......
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7vzw/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.0-m7wlv.img
This is so frustrating. I have tried all the suggestions and my phone will not load recovery. Thank You to everyone's input, for now the only way for me to try something new is to install via fastboot and the rom update utility. This makes no sense because twrp was working fine, I had NuSense 7.8. I saw an update to 8.0. I downloaded NuSense 8.0 and went to load twrp and it would not load. So I tried all the suggestions on here still not loading. I then Installed the ruu file that keeps me rooted and s-off kitkat 4.4.3. That worked and wiped the phone. Ok now that the phone is completely wiped and brand new install, twrp should work. NO still not loading. I should have stuck with NuSense 7.8......
Here is a picture of what happens when I enter recovery from the bootloader..

That is the RUU I flashed. It works great. My one issue is recovery not loading. Everything else works, Including flashing a ruu file via fastboot. which is why I do not understand why the recovery just refuses to load. I have tried multiple suggestions all to no avail...

Don't have your model 816, mine is single SIM a5_chl but this forum link had some answers for someone else with your model. Luckily your not really "hard bricked" because you can still enter hboot/fastboot but I understand why you say that. Hard bricked is when your phone is literally an expensive paperweight. Luckily you still have access to your boatloader and that's where most problems can get fixed. By the way what specifically happened that caused this issue? You're boatloader is locked and your not rooted so pure stock right with stock recovery but you can't get into recovery?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/help/a5ul-unable-to-flash-ruu-t3294835
Also if you press the power button to select hboot you should go to fastboot mode where you can use volume key to select recovery then press power button to enter.
Below is a link to stock RUU's for yours and other models but you'll need stock recovery installed and working before they can be run. Hopefully your stock recovery is still there just need a different way to enter it i.e. Boatloader or key presses. Only flash your specific versions firmware.Try the one your were currently on before trying one older.

So you went into fastboot mode and when you press your power button to select hboot what happens?
Below is a link to a forum for the a5_ul with a link to the stock recovery. Verify this is your version then try flashing it using ADB/fastboot on your P.C. and your phone in fastboot mode. Do you have USB debugging selected in your phone developer options settings?

Did you have the HTC drivers installed on your P.C. or Linux computer?
flashing it using SDK Toolkit /ADB fastboot is doing it manually. The other method is to name the file a specific way so that your phone recognizes it but I have never used this method before. I downloaded the portion of the SDK Toolkit I needed, ADB/fastboot and had the HTC Windows drivers installed from HTC sync manager then put the recovery zip file into my ADB folder in my P.C. then opened command prompt from my ADB folder and typed fastboot flash recovery"name of zip file".img with my phone in fastboot and it flashed. This is what you should try and I'll link some instructions below. Good luck.
http://androidforums.com/threads/cd...ry-image-via-fastboot-or-from-sd-card.385358/
Also if ADB isn't recognizing your phone and you do have the drivers installed then it may be because of what's happened to your phone and then you would need to try and flash from your SD card with the file properly named for your version so that fastboot on your phone will recognize and flash it. I don't know what the proper name is for your version but a lot of the time it's already properly named. How did you lose your recovery in the first place with a locked boatloader and no root?
I must be getting tired. I believe you need an unlocked boatloader to flash a recovery image so you might not be able to flash it. If you can't get into your recovery thru H boot, press power button, volume button to select recovery, enter by pressing power button, then your going to need to flash the stock RUU or zip file with the stock recovery included in the file as you can flash an RUU with the boatloader locked. The issue is will the signed file recognize your firmware as it is now and flash? Wish this was my expertise but I've only flashed RUU files to start my devices clean again not to fix a problem.
nd if im not usb debugged because dont see adb devices only fastboot recognize my device ;[[[ im in big stuck ... i'll say again LOCKED , S-ON , MAYBE NO USB DEBUGGING , STUCK IN BOOTLOADER , AND RUU SAYS MAIN VERSION OLDER ;[

I know my friend I read it the first time and I understand all that. I'd try the flash with your recovery zip and see if that works. If not then you'll need to flash stock RUU's until you find one that will work but only ones meant for your version . Did you click that one link I gave that was to a forum here in XDA because that forum looked like it was very similar to your problem ?

Download the zip from the thread
Rename it to 0P9CIMG.zip
Copy it to your sdcard
Put the sdcard into your phone
Boot into HBoot, it will recognize an update and confirm
After this, you will be on stock kitkat, but you can make upgrade to lollipop
I'm uploading a RUU for this device right now.
I'll send you a pm once it's done
Do you need Stock recovery too?

Thanks for the assist TobiBot. I don't have this version of phone and didn't catch this forum link when I was looking thru XDA. O.P. says he is flashing this way and not from ADB/fastboot and still keeps getting the" older version" notice. I read the whole forum you linked to and found this a few pages in. His radio I.D. is invalid in Getvar all he posted so maybe your suggestion combined with the above posters quote he can make it work. Hopefully just the fix you linked to will do it but if not this might get him the rest of the way.

The last quote above from the Misctool suggestion. Never tried it or heard of it but all options should be looked at to fix O.P.'s problem. Hopefully the last poster's help fixes it and this idea is moot but at least it's linked here for the next guy.
Good luck pipaigoleko !
