Just a suggestion, you should add a screen shot and edit with paint to show which button to press to avoid confusion =)

Done

i think i ever post this kind of bug on the thread, forgot which one.. but in my hand, the way to 'go around' this bug is "when you make any call (or receive) just press the volume button down, then press the volume up.. and voila, your front speaker works as they should be..
btw, it works for me guys, hope it works for you too..

thanks bro for this trick :victory:

Hello, guys
I just want to tell you that the bug described in the first post was already fixed in CM10.1 Alpha 3. Also, for as far as I know, it occurred only when the phone was set to Vibration or Sound + Vibration modes.
Credits to trocLas for the workaround posted here would be nice.
Also, for other interesting discussions or bug reports, please use the official CM10.1 discussions/bug reports thread here.
Also, since you're at it, you might want to read the first post in that thread before upgrading to Alpha 3.
Best regards

Smaller volume steps?

Does anyone know of a way to make the volume scale (specifically for playing music) have more steps? For example, I'd frequently like listening to a volume halfway between muted and the lowest volume level. Is this possible?
Thanks!
I would love this as well
Try Audiomanager from the market. Works good for me.

I use Audiomanager, but that just makes it easy to control all the different volume levels - it doesn't introduce new ones, which is really what I'm looking for.
you should post these kind of questions in the general section...not development..

I believe that it will take some coding to enable more granular volume steps, so I felt like this section was appropriate. Mods, if you disagree with me, please move this to the General forum.

[Q] Calkulin volume glitch

just flashed Calkulin rom last night and it's working great, i'm wondering if anyone else is having this weird glitch, under volume controls my Notification volume and incoming call volume seem to be stuck together. as i adjust one, the other one follows. the other volumes are fine.
Any ideas?
I'm on Calkulin's ROM as well, and didn't realize it but I also have this issue, but it's only when I use the volume buttons to change the volume when not in the sound settings.
If I go into Settings > Sounds > Volume I can change them independently of each other using the sliders, and the volume buttons.
Strange... :-?
Mine does it both ways lol

found a fix. download Audio manager from the market ( has over 1 mill downloads ) in the settings for application you can UNLINK the 2 volumes, tested this and it worked great

Please read top of general thread there is faq n ultimate guide.

Mine dont vibrate and only one of them sounds... i guess it must be a hardware issue ? What do you think ? Thank you for answearing

You didnt anwear my question by the way.
I want to know about the buttons state "out of the box" stock settings ..... using no trick. Because i find it weird that only one sounds and none vibrate
Sent from my Nexus S
our stock doesn't vibrate nor light. nevertheless, we can make it vibrate by editing qwerty.kl in /system/usr
I hope this could answer your question. next time, I suggest to put your question in FAQ section.
How about sound.. they are both supposed to sound right ?
Thanks.... after the next answear you can close the thread... sorry for disturbance

be cool...I,m not an administrator for this forum
in our stock setting the back button doesn't sound. thats normal. nevertheless, our device is basicly full customizable as long as the hardware could afford it. the problem is I'm just another noob in this forum so I don't know how to do it. you may check /system/media/audio to see all sound files used by our device. you can replace them with any *ogg files you want.
lol...are you serious ? I dont get it. Why make a phone with only one button that sounds . No vibration on them nor light... thats odd..i seriously thought its broken... but thank you for enlighting me. Ill search to see how i can program it to vibrate or hear both buttons.

check the other link i left for you but why would you want the sound volume to go higher...it is loud enough as it is..anyway hope you find the solution anyway or the app you want..for me the volume is loud enough..hehe my ears bleed how awesome the sound and volume is
but anyway really that mod is good and it does make a lot of difference specially if you want to play around with the equalizer..and if you do listen to alot of music then try poweramp...play with the equalizer and volume does get alot higher specially if you untick the limit volume from settings

i am sorry let me clear i am talking about the loud speaker of the phone, not the in-ear... in ear is amazing as hell i love them i am using klipsch s4 with it,,, but i am missing alot of phone calls as its loud speaker volume is low(vibration is good but doesn't impacts well on skin (if kept in pocket), by which we can notice a call is coming. And if playing video songs on loud speaker, many plays fine but some stutters/crackles(keeping sound enhancer on) a little and few mp3 songs also gives this problem even as they cannot get sound enhancer on(maybe due to good quality, but songs downloaded for free or something)
fair enough..nothing else that i can recommend then..volume plus is the only one..and from trying to search all the results lead to that...sorry dude

Thread to increase all values of volume within phone!!

HELLO GUYS..
IM making this thread a little different then the others...This thread is designed to mod out the DEFAULT_GAIN.CONFG FILE...to everyone needs..I will attempt to help you all by making more specific mods to suit your needs,And we can help each other as well. Instead of this just having it increase all your volumes...I figured most just want one or two within it...like just "incall" speaker level.....or whatever else..
The Default_Gain.conf is located in SYSTEM/ETC
First off this is the "default" file in case you mess up or just need it.
http://www.mediafire.com/?qz8qo3oefx11r4e
When applying this file...SAVE YOUR OLD DEFAULT_GAIN.CONF FILE SOMEWHERE .... TAKE YOUR NEW FILE AND PUT IT IN SYSTEM/ETC SET PERMISSIONS AS THE OLD ONE...REBOOT AND MAkE A TEST CALL..USALLY VOICEMAIL IS EASIER...
Thanks to Edgabimbam and his thread for a reference.. Found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931970
PLEASE HIT THANKS IF THIS HELPS !
THIS IS MODIFIED FILE SECTION:
1.(Incall earpiece) set at 60 instead of (default is 53)
http://www.mediafire.com/?haabhrx61th3348
2.(Incall earpiece & Incall loudspeaker] 59 level
http://www.mediafire.com/?0ro43df5f9t8dli
ALSO INCASE YOUR NOT AWARE THERE ACTUALLY IS A INCALL BOOST FOR YOUR EARPIECE....WHEN CALLING OUT...LOOK AT THE SCREEN ONCE IT CONNECTS..THERE IS A LITTLE VOLUME BOOST BUTTON WHICH INCREASES IT..MANY ARENT EVEN AWARE OF THIS...before applying this mod you may want to consider this???.
I'm happy with everything on mine except headphone volume. I'm almost exclusively on bt, which is fine, but have my earphones for when the bt dies, and the volume is very low.
Edit- your a busy fella, appreciate what you do for the community.

Ok..if your incall earpiece was to loud...I can show you what to edit...so you text test and play with settings...?...look for the proper field..then change the output level. Stock is usally 53... changing it a few up..will help big time..anything over 60 will get the crackle sound....heres some screen shots so you can try out different tweaks yourself...you may enjoy learning..
Heres where you can edit some cids..for example in this screen**** was incall earpiece....underneath it is incall speaker...which is the loud speaker.
