Hello, whenever I open cyanogenmod file manager it opens half way then does not display files. It then stops responding.
Download es file explorer and move on with your life!

Just want to know where the .apk files are kept on the phone because I want to manually back up so I don't need to download everytime I do a reset. I also want to keep them on my PC.
I've searched all the folders but could not find them. Are they hidden?
Try using a file manager such as Astro or ES file explorer. They have the ability to save an app to an apk.

I've got both but couldn't find any by using search function.
How do I do it ?
cheers
Just go astro, press menu button, choose tools then backup option.
Then select the app that you want to back up.

I'm using Rcmix 4.0...for some reason, there is a file called "somefile.ext"
soon as i click on ES File Explorer.
I delete it, and it appears again.
Can't open it, all I know is that it's 1.04mb in size.
Any ideas as to what this could be?
cheers
Matt
What folder does it appear in?

Soon as I click to open es.file explorer its there. It's not in a folder.
I can open the file with Es Note Editor, but takes a long time to load and this is what's displayed:
1st pic is what i see when i open ES File Explorer
rest of the pics are a few screenshots of the actual contents of the 'somefile.ext'
cheers
Matt
I downloaded the User Manual to the Downloads folder.
How do I put it (or a shortcut to it) on my Home Screen?
Thanks, cb

If you have ES File Explorer (if you don't, it's free on the market), go to sdcard/download, press and hold until the menu comes up and select shortcut.

I am using Astro File Manager.
I can get to the file in the download folder, but where do I put it?
Where is the folder for the Home Screen?

I recently updated from CM 10.0 to 10.2
it seems that all my old files are at
/mnt/shell/emulated/
while the new home folder is at
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/
even giving full root access to any app (solid explorer/cm explorer...) I can't open copy or move any of the old files
I'm able to list them and thats it
How do I move the files at the right place?
thanks

Try an other Explorer. Like es or root browser.

+1 for root browser. Not sure if you can pull entire directories via adb?

sorry the other explorers did not work
its like the files are owned by the wrong user and they can't be modified
update...
I rebooted the phone after trying es root explorer and suddenly I got access back trought ES explorer
It failed before the reboot... I don't know why...
thanks
So I have run into a weird issue. I am running the latest official nightly and if I give the file manager root access I lose the 0 folder in /storage/emulated/ but I can get to it through/mnt/shell/emulated. If go back to user access the 0 folder comes back.
I tried es file explorer and that works just fine, but I really like the cm one better. Any ideas?
