I was trying to install Whomp 4.2 and now I'm stuck in Aroma on the select kernel part. I've tried many times to hard reset sometimes holding the power button for up to 2 minutes. I wiped data davlik and cache and i'm using twrp 2.5.0.0. I don't know what to do especially since the battery is not removable. Do I just let the battery run down? Is it bricked?
Amigo, the battery in the Note2 is very removable.

I found it I'm an idiot. Any clue as to why it would continue to freeze on that specific option in aroma.

Lol. No worries.
Presuming this isn't a known issue for that ROM. It might be a bad zip download, though usually a corrupt zip won't even try to flash. Otherwise it may be the doing a known *feature * of TWRP freezing on Aroma scripts occasionally.

I am new to this stuff so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I have a rooted EVO. Just tried flashing to leaked Gingerbread ROM through ROM Manager. Phone is now stuck on the white "HTC EVO 4G" boot-up screen for over an hour with no change.
Please HELP!
Thanks.
Remove battery and turn on phone into the bootloader screen by holding down the power button and volume down button. Go into recovery and flash one of your backups after you have wiped your data.

Thanks for the help.
I would suggest to do a factory reset/ data wipe along with the cache everytime you flash different roms.. I've had that issue before and that usually fixed it. simple suggestion, i'm not sure if that's what fixed the issue entirely but it has always worked for me

Why do people use ROM Manager to flash anything?? I constantly see people having issues after flashing with ROM Manager.
If you are running stock rooted 4.1.2 UVMC6 on a SGH-t989, pull out your battery while the phone is on. Now, can you get past the 4G screen? If you can, is everything now FC on you?
This is frustrating. It seems all runs SO PERFECTLY. Until I pull my battery on the stock rooted 4.1.2. Then my phone will not boot or will not boot properly.
Anyone else have this?
*edit* Jamison's Infamous CACHE wipe fixed it. I ran the cache wipe script under TWRP. The phone rebooted itself. I waited a few minutes and it worked!!!
Get the script here!

I'll try this next time. I'm tired of restoring my phone just to have it randomly die. A few days later.
This time I restored with the stock rooted deodexed rom and not ODIN. Maybe it'll keep working...
Funny thing though. The ODIN stock for SGH-t989 works GREAT (minus one wierd FC ridden boot that fixed itself) on my wife's SGH-i727 Skyrocket. WiFi calling and all.

Why are do doing a battery pull? You can't power off normally? If the phone is freezing just hold the power button in for about ten seconds, and it will do a reboot no matter what it's frozen on. Then when it reboots you can do a normal reboot or power off.

Thats where it runs into problems. I get to the 4G screen and 99% on the loading bar. Then it just stays there no matter what. Battery pull. Power button reset. Nothing. Oh well. I installed the stock rooted rom and now do frequent nand backups. Haven't had a problem so far... I've tucked the cache wipe script on my sd card just in case...

It takes time to boot sometimes. I've waited around 10 - 15 minutes for it to get past the loading screen. I don't know if it's device related or update related but either way just give it some time your next go

Ok I had purchased the ZL battery and have been using it since day 1, however today i got home around 11:25pm. i had put my phone on charge @ 3PM. I just finished my 3rd cycle for the battery so i'd figure its done charging as it indicated it was, and turn it on and now all of sudden constant bootloop out of nowhere.
What could have caused this? it was working just fine before i didn't change anything at all.
I'm Running Stock TW w/Saber Kernel. I had purchased the ZL battery a week ago and ever since no problems, nor did i flash anything at all. I've been on TW way before i even thought of buying the battery.
So what could have caused this to undergo a bootloop session.
I went into recovery and wiped dalvik and cache and still is doing a bootloop. Should i do a factory reset however i have no backup because i have been fine since and I've been on Stock TW figure this wouldn't happen.
This used to happen on my epic if I ever left the battery out too long. I always just reflashed either the rom or the kernel. Worst case scenario you just nandroid and restore data.

Try going into Advanced then format system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Then swipe to confirm and repeat this 2 more times for a total of 3 Advanced wipes
If that still doesn't help then follow the same procedure but after performing an Advanced wipe 3x go into Format Data to format your internal storage.

Seems like you already did a full stock restore. I had the same symptoms, different rom tho. Reflashing the rom without wiping allowed me to boot up normally and with all of my data is intact. FYI for next time.

Will do. Scared to power off my Nexus 7 now lol =]
Doing a factory reset in the recovery clearly states it only wipes the userdata, cache and dalvik cache - not your internal storage. I prefer to do everything my self manually instead of using ROM Manager, GooManager, Recovery Manager, Nandroid Manager, etc which makes a mess of my internal storage.
And it happened again.. This can't be normal. Anyway, did another wipe. no worries but this seems to be happening a lot with other users..

In case there is any confusion.
Factory reset through twrp will NOT wipe your virtual sdcard (ie /data/media)
Factory reset through stock recovery WILL wipe your virtual sdcard.
Yeah, I got that now. Lol I got play with the device tonight and figure out what is causing it to boot loop.

[Q] Phone was fine, ran out of battery, now "System Ui Has stopped" every few seconds
Hey,
Note 2 running PACMAN rom, android 4.3.
I woke up and checked it at 8am, no problems at all. Went to use it at 1pm and it had run out of battery. I plugged it into my computer to charge it, turned it on and it said "System UI has stopped. Blame Tyler" - and continues to do this every time you press OK, with about a 3 second gap in between each one.
I restart my phone quite regularly and I don't think I've installed anything that could be causing this. I've disabled XPosed but same problem. Any other ideas? Otherwise I'll have to just wipe it and start again, perhaps with CM. I need a working phone for tomorrow though!
Cheers
Maybe a silly question, but have you wiped cache and dalvik cache from recovery? If not try it.

This seems quite sinisiter - thanks for the suggestion but it hasn't worked, and it's unearthed something more concerning about the state of my phone (the TWRP messages, see below). Can't believe I didn't think to do that myself though! (I haven't messed around with ROMs for quite a while so am out of practice, I've had this one for a few months).
Delvik cache completed, then said something like "updating partition details. E: Error opening '/data/system/...." I/O Error" and various APKs - one of which was system UI. Wiping the cache again told me done, but loads of errors of similar APKs (This time in /data/data/ though). This sounds incredibly ominous though and I've never seen that error before in any of the wipes or anything I've done.
Restarted it but the system UI error messages persist. I want to wipe and install a fresh ROM but I'm worried I'm going to be left with a totally useless phone if things won't wipe or flash properly. Any ideas would be great.
If anything goes wrong u still have the option to flash a new rom through odin.
