Hey guys! I want to ask a silly question, yeah, can I use the Sony earphones (the one that came with my Acro S, should be the same with S) as a microphone for my pc? I want to ask it because when I used it as a mic for my phone to record my voice, the quality is amazing! It's like a studio mic lol, it's better than my main pc mic. I tried to google my question but it seems like I can't find the solution (maybe I'm not a good searcher lol).
So yeah, can I?
Here's the thing that I'm talking about:

It should work. I used to use my Xperia Mini's earphones as a mic so it is worth a try. Just connect it to the microphone jack of your pc and in the start menu, search for sound recorder.
Guys how can it worked ?? Mine never even worked as headphone or as a mic !!
Could be a issue with the Sound card may be?

Yeah probably your soundcard, my Sony earphones works like a charm on my pc, I always used it to play intense games like Battlefield 3 (stereo sound and bass is awesome).

I tried plugging it in the mic jack, didn't work :/ can't hear anything when I speak loud enough to that little hole. I set it as default device for recording, still no use. I heard someone that I should use a splitter or something.
It worked for Sony Xperia M dual earphone
I tried to use the earphones as a mic on both my laptop and PC and to my amazement it worked but the mic was the earpiece ( the piece that goes in YOUR EARS). I don't know how it happened but it did work. Unfortunately, the sound quality is so bad and very low.
Buy a splitter
I bought a splitter whose photo is attached from this link http://radioshack.com.eg/?route=product/product&product_id=2732 and it works perfectly

Perhaps (correct me if not) the iPhone's headset works also with the Universal.
http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2007...ed_iphone_headset/apple_and_rivet_earbuds.jpg
i'm not sure of this information, but i'm exigent and i want find the original sony earphone .... please can you give help???
hi, i am new to the universal world, and since i just received my device yesterday and unfortunately didn't read the ebay description right, i hardly have any original accessories. besides other things i don't have a hands-free. i've had my blueangel for 2 years and had similar issues there, because i wonder, for just listening to music, is the plug's layout the same as in a 2-contact one?
the blueangel's 2.5mm 3contact plug has a different layout, meaning, plugging in a simple 2contact adaptor from 2.5 to 3.5mm doesn't do the trick and you wouldn't be able to listen to music properly since one output channel is actually jammed in the microphone input channel. it is all messed up.
i hadn't had the chance to test it, but:
- does a normal 3.5mm stereo headphone work for listening only?
- do mini-usb-b headsets work on the universal, say... if you took the touch HD's
- do those from newer HTC devices support the extra buttons (PTT, play, skip...)
- does a 3 contact 3.5mm like the one (usually ) shipped with the universal support other button functions besides answering and holding a call, like ending call or voice command...
i would love to have those questions answered and like innuendo1973, i would like to know, what headset, hands-free... would be best for me (till now, still using my sim in the BA, so maybe a simple music headset would be enough, a usb one even better, if that works)
as i may recall, i do have a lot of experience when it comes to the bluangel, but this universal seems so much more complex and so different after all...
(Prepare for a lot of stupid questions when i first start upgrading it )

I will just get a extUSB to 3.5mm adaptor from HTC. Check it out here: http://www.expansys.com.hk/d.aspx?i=179131
The good thing about this is that you can use any headsets to answer calls as well as listen to music, especially listing to the radio.
Or if you want to you can also purchase a multi-function adaptor, which will enable you to listen to music or answer calls why charging the phone. So you can watch movies and not need to worry about running out of battery.
All for less than £25.
I was planning to get a BT Stereo headset. I saw one from Nokia

Does you think it works with our Arc? What about the Music controls ? Any other recommendations ?
I've got a MW600 which does the job perfectly plus it also comes in handy for listening to my house system without having to trape a wire across the room. =)
I am still using my DR-BT21G headset i bought when i had my K850i

MW600 looks good but still those wires and clips are little messy
I have MW600, but the earset that came with it had very bad sound quality. Now I'm using MW600 with MH-500, the bass-reflex earset from SE.
I had a the Sony DRBT100CXS that were great until I put them in the washing machine! And yes, it had music controls.

Funny, my SonyEricsson MH-100 that was bundled with Aino went through the washer as well. But still works fine and has music controls also. It didn't want to start in the beginning, but I left it in the charger for a day or so and it has been working fine ever since.
MW600 for sure, I have since I bought the arc, good sound quality.
using the sony ericcsson HBH-IS800 had them since launch used both with my old iphone 3gs and now the arc

Because 2011 Xperia phones do not have the built-in Bluetooth function, which would send song title to MW600.
CyanogenMod ROMs have that feature, as that ROM's bluetooth modules are custom.
hic. i like stock rom (
...androi + walkman + cybershot...
I have a Sony DRBT100 CXS. Greater !
And works fine...
What about the MW1 ... is it worth to spend more money than to buy a MW600 ... because I wanna buy a new headset with BT functionality ...
So i tried using three different headphones with two almost new s2s (mine and my gfs), it seems that none of the headphones can get solid connections with either phones, they either have to be kept at a certain angle/position or need to pressed down to actually hear sound.
Can anyone confirm this? Does the headphone jack get best compatibility with samsung products only? Not that I use my phone to listen to music but this is pretty irritating.

Look for a right angle connector or adapter. It is best for things like phones to prevent damage to the jack.
I have a in-ear headphone from HP with the inline mic... I don't have the problem with audio cutting out. I do have problem with the mic volume sounding faint at other end. I need another headphone/mic unit. Any suggestions welcome. No BT - I need in ear for noise reduction and also listening to podcasts.
None of my headphones can go in all the way, theres always a bit of the metal outside. I tried it with both t989 that I have access to. I don't think it's just my machine.. anyone verify?

You might have gotten something stuck inside your jack.
My plugs insert all the way...
are you using a case?
I thought i was having a problem with my porta pros, then when I tried them without my case on I could see it wasn't in all the way.
It took quite a bit of force to snap it in the rest of the way then it worked just fine.

Sounds like you have a broke connecter on your jacks.

I have a Beats by Dre Headphone and a Nexus 5, Is there a way of making it so the ContolTalk works on my phone ?
as of right now I know it was only fully functional on iOS but not on Android (only mic and call button works on it)
I will love you forever (and kiss your forehead) if you find me a solution, specially if I don't have to root it ( which I'll probably have too )
There's no solution because it's a hardware thing. The cable is not compatible fully with an Android device and no rooting will do anything about it any more than rooting would make the N5 work with an iPhone-designed radio.

1st receipe: Go to the E-Bay. Try to find a "Samsung headset control cable". It's very rare thing so you could fail with it. Try aliexpress, dx or similar sites.
2nd receipe: Go to the E-Bay and get the pair of the cheapest Samsung headsets there. Find someone familiar with the soldering iron and tell him to use the headset as the donor to the original cable. Changes will occur for resistors and wiring – he'd changeover mic and ground contacts as describede below.

Instead of doing this workaround, just buy this adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-EC250-Headphones-Adaptor-1249-0456/dp/B009HW15UG
It convert from CTIA to OMTP.

Sure thing they do. Plus they are a lot cheaper than Beats and sound better even straight out of the box. Not to mention how much better they sound once you burn them in.
Been happening recently. Most of the time it outputs sound on the left side but for some reason it goes some what normal where the right side outputs little to no sound and the left side outputs normal.
Since it's international europe unlocked and I bought from a retailer (Handtec) outside of Canada. How do I approach this to get this fixed? I am sure the phone is still under warranty as I bought this around June (I think).
Tried different headphones?
LG G4 H815 ®
tried to clean up the jack ?
Is there lint in the jack? This happened to me once and ti was a quick fix.
I seem to recall seeing this issue reported on the LG G2 when it came out. People just weren't pushing the headphone plug into the socket hard enough. It took significantly more effort to properly seat the plug than most people were used to, so the plug was only making intermittent contact with one channel. Of course, you don't wanna seat it with a hammer, either. You might want to try twisting a little bit as you insert it.
I tried with various of headphones. Still the same, left side with sound and right side with out sound. I tried twisting it, cleaning it, pushing it hard. Still same issue :\
Do you play some specific audio ?
some song ? Stereo/Mono ?
Custom audio player from playstore ?
Using any equalizer ?
Custom ROM ?
Also..
happens when phone cover is installed on phone and audio plug doesn't fit properly.
If none of above then you my friend possibly have a defective audio jack..
Did your phone receive any shock recently ?
You took your phone to the bathroom because it could be causing due to moisture..
There are many other reasons..
Could be any

Everything is stock... It does this for everything including youtube, games, etc. I usually use poweramp as my main music player but it does this on the stock music app and google music.
It has been dropped a few times but at most like 2 - 3 inches form the ground.
1. You could have bad audio jack
2. It could simply be dislocated due to minor shock (Just maybe)
3. Defective main board (Maybe)
