HTC Sensation eat your heart out.
This app lowers your screen density allowing more content to be displayed on your screen. Whole web pages seen with no scrolling. Most of the settings menu viewable with no scrolling what so ever.
Step 1: Install apk
Step 2: Select menu > settings then check save density as system density.
Step 3: Enter a value of 200 in the New Density Value textbox. (Working well on 200 with ADW Launcher EX not tested twLauncher adjust to suit).
Step: 4 Select save then reboot.
This works beautifully on the SGS2.
Download: Seems LCD density changer is the only one on the market that can do this permanently.
Is this just a density changer? Why do we need this app when there are others... or we can just edit build.prop manually?

yeah, sounds like it:
"This app lowers your screen density allowing more content to be displayed on your screen."
Build.prop methinks
Yes it is but built prop edits dont stick using file explorers text editor etc only would change to 220 max. This is way more easier. HTC should use this save performane haha.
Yeah, but don't post a paid app to do it please. I took the link out. It's £0.64 on market.
Ok free app link replaced
Is the app changed? Changes removed on reboot with free app?
Yeah removed by mods but works excellent with AWD.Launcher EX.
Useless?
This shouldn't be ment to be rude... ^^

The default Phone application on Galaxy S II didn't like this at all though. But that's only the numpad / keypad that didn't scale up to the density of 200.
With this apk, even the TouchWizz HOME is resized and feels ridiculous with 200
This thread should be replaced in the Themes and apps forum
Horrible thread. Can you DE-Thank someone?
Build.prop DPI editing has been around for at least a year now.
I agree the title of this thread is very misleading and will make people believe they can actually make the resolution higher on their phones.
Also... the change in density amplifies the poor colour gradient we are seeing in most apps so even more reason not to do this until some devs solve that problem.

Wow....some people need an app to do this?and a paid one at that?
If you want to change screen density, why not just edit the build.prop?
At least it fixes the CRT effect (for me), changed density to 240 from 240 , no more glitches in CRT effect
Fake QHD, lol

No typo, it really works, don't know why
Did anyone change the build.prop edit For the 240 dpi and get a proper outcome? Not the stock launcher or the dialer problems, but anything more serious like force closes.

Any trick to apply HDPI themes on cm10 for our device??
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
Yes, you said in my thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37584288#post37584288) that that trick isn't working for you.
But that's no problem there is an other way.
You have to change your density to a number lower than 160, I recommend 150 or 140 with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marutian.dpichanger. Press apply and reboot and apply your theme. It will work.
(It's better to change the density back to 160 once the theme is working, to avoid compatibility issues in market. The theme will remain working on a density of 160 once it is applied)
Enjoy it
Hi.
Can someone plz give a working link here to a modified touchwiz launcher 240 dpi as i need to use it for snote page buddy in 240 dpi.
I have found a few modified on google but when installed they work as if they are 340 dpi
I got system at 240 dpi but poor samsung programming does not allow tw to change dpi and therefor looks really stupid and ugly.

Search for Xposed framework mod. In there you can assign different DPI for any app, so set your system to 240 and set launcher to 320. Unless you just want more shortcuts on "desktops" then in Xposed there is a mod that allows 5x4 icons on desktop. Look here mods repository.
Thanks for the help but i found some other post which i must have missed the first time around i browsed through.
