Alright, guys. I've been searching for an answer to this problem for about 2 weeks now and I can't find a great answer.
I converted my AT&T Tilt to Android successfully and I've been trying out a series of different ROMs to find the one that works the best for me. Currently, I am running 2.6.32_VOGUIMG-320-FROYO-01-16-11.NBH from l1q1d with barebones 5.1. However, I have tryied Incubus's Super Froyo, Myn's Warm Donut, etc. I've been very happy with most of the builds; however, I have problems playing video in every single release of Android that I have tried. This includes through Android's included movie player, Meridian, and the youtube app. I am using panel type 2 when I reconfigure the kernal using atools. I don't know if this is the correct panel type, as I don't know how to figure out which one I have. I don't know if this makes a difference for video.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how I could get video working in Android on my phone? It's the last missing link in getting my phone to work the way I want. Thanks.
Seriously. No one else has experienced this problem? I've literally spent hours searching XDA trying to find a solution.
Youtube works on mine... tell you what. Flash the nbh with panel type 1.
Even if you get screen artifacts, or other issues, try the video. If you can play, then you've isolated the problem to the panel type. If not... oh well.
I'll try meridian and see what i get.
Just out of curiosity, I tried flashing it with all three different panel types; same results. I have overclocked to 520 mhz; would this cause any problems? Every other program seems to work fine. I'm honestly baffled.
Via Atools or RogueTools ?
Via atools. Thanks.
Do not OC via Atools. Might not have nothing to do with it, but RogueTools seems MUCH more stable. Just and advice
Removing the overclocking from atools has not made any difference. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Same problem. I managed to play some videos with poor quality, so maybe this is a performance related problem.
Looks like it's back to WM for me. The lack of video is a dealbreaker for me. Sorry that you're having the same issue, sloikas. Windows plays everything I've thrown at it.
Back to the dark ages on our kaisers lol? What may be affecting your video playback is the radio rom. It actually contains a little more than the radio and in my experience can affect playback of videos. Also if your trying to stream over edge, good luck with that. Over wifi I have next to no issues with Barebones 4.55, overclocked to 575 mhz and on wifi.
Thanks for the reply. Just out of curiosity, I tried three different radios: 1.70.18.02, 1.70.19.09, and 1.71.09.01. Same results with each of them. I don't have a data connection with my phone, so I am only using wifi. I have also tried to play MP4's on my SD card.
Video is supposed to be working. How exactly do you have it set up atm?

use KAISIMG, And mind that you need a corresponding kernel. Atools is creating problems for me in editing the kernels. I suggest you try a stock kernel with respective build. (FROYO kernel for FROYO, Eclair kernel for Eclair and Donut's for Donut). So far, Meridian is the best media player for me and I am using it on Donut (Warbyte's or Myn's ? your choice).
To check which panel type is nice and good is to check your SCREEN's colours. Are they perfect? is Touchscreen working good? and is brightness set good. First thing you notice after flashing wrong panel type is colours. Deformed Colours, usually u see each pixel as showing rainbows.
Flash a KAISIMG kernel I say and do not play with them on Atools / iHex or what so ever.
For instance try this,
http://phobos-lab.net/android/Warbyte Donut RLS04.zip
kernel is included and panel type is set to 1, Device keyboard is set to HTC Kaiser default. I say use iHex to edit the nbh for your suited panel type/keyboard.
Installing Data on SD Card can cause browsers to malfunction and almost Force Close on anything. Try installing on NAND (both SYS and DATA)

To play video, convert your clips/video to mp4 and use yxplayer to play them. This was the only working solution for video issues for me. Now I can play any video as long as it's in mp4 format and i'm using yxplayer to play it.
About youtube...are you on WIFI or mobile net? Youtube on wifi defaults to HQ video which our kaisers cannot play for some reason. Solution use 3G/H or if you're on wifi .......when the clip is loading click a HQ icon on the screen it should be in the right upper corner on the screen(depending on youtube app. version) that should load LQ/MQ version which plays fine on kaiser.
Thanks so much to dark_prince. His instructions worked perfectly for me. I now have a perfectly working (for me) Android phone. Awesome! Thanks to all that tried to assist.
Was just curious as to what build you were using. It basically sounded like he said to use a vanilla build with atools edit'd for whatever build you are going to use. I hate Donut just due to how old and slow it is. I do not think the build you are using matters, it sounds like you had a kernel configuration problem if it is now working.

for OLD I might agree. But for SLOW I wont ever. Donut is far far far far far far better than those eclairs or froyos out there. Particularly when my battery lasts for a day on Eclair / Froyo, it lasts for almost 48 hours crisp while using Donut. So please sir...
Well its like I said before, it is really the kernel that is making battery last longer. My barebones with a proper .32 kernel (Still waiting for clemsyn's .32 to be committed to git) and stock speeds is plenty fast and gets almost equal battery with more features and apps. I of course could overclock it but that drops battery to around a day which is more than adequate.
video doesn't work for me either....
I have VOGUIMG-320-FROYO-01-16-11 changed to kaiser and to panel 2 with atools... CM 6.1 barebones build both sys and data on nand... and is working really fine ( is the only one i've tried... )
already installed meridian and rockplayerbass the best i could get was with rockplayerbass with software render but the image was very ver slow... =(
erickrause01 , did you installed only kernel or entire build that dark_prince advised? and did you changed panel? what is the difference to change panel with atools and ihex? ( dunno how to use it ;P but if necessary will learn...
If only the kernel is needed to be changed, if i install new kernel do my installed build be ok or the process is re-installing kernel and then build again? i'm still with this doubt...
I would like to stay with this build because almost everything is running fine... little by little i'm getting my android to "perfection" hehe although some apps aren't working i'm finding solutions for almost everything.. video and camera is not one of that .. yet ;P
sorry for the bad english ;P
edit: when installing kernel i've changed name to KAISIMG
edit2: build is Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1 RLS5.5 not barebones....
In my opinion one of the main flaws of the Android ICS OS the big audio playback latency - about 88 ms. This impacts negatively many applications that emulate musical instruments and the ones that do VOIP like Skype or Google Talk. For VOIP apps the audio lag also has a negative impact on acoustic echo cancellation - probably the most difficult feature to implement on an Android phone. In spite of many user protests and requests apparently Google has chosen not to do anything about it.
This is a similar thread to the one started by "Windows X":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621914
but the solution is applicable to the Google Galaxy Nexus GSM phone ( or with custom ROMs based on ICS 4.0.4 GSM (maguro))
The attached package should be used only by experienced users that can eventually restore their system to the original state. I tested it only on ICS 4.0.4 GSM phone build IMM76I (maguro). In this configuration it worked flawlessly as far as I could test it. Other successful testing reports coming for CM9 Nightly Builds, AOKP and rascream maguro ROMs.
The latency after aplying it should be about 20 ms - as reported by the "Caustic 2" app.
Change log:
Original package replaced by "lowlatsnd_inst.zip"
To restore to original state you may use "lowlatsnd_rest.zip" or other restore methods if necessary.
Status: stable
Note: applying this might reverse changes made in other mods.
consider submitting to AOSP once you're sure it's stable
Actually I think it is pretty stable, but I tested it only on my ICS 4.0.4 GSM phone build IMM76I.

Ill be trying on AOKP later today, but as its just a modified AOSP, I dont expect any issues. Nice find!

So that's why I have an echo on almost all of my phone calls and voip apps?
Is this a flashable zip or something you have to include before compiling?
It is a flashable zip.
The big audio playback latency is one of the reasons for echo cancellation poor performance.
I'm guessing it's possible to manually paste these files into the phone via some form of root explorer, right?
Since I'm new to the GN (had a Desire before), is it possible for you to create a flashable version of the stock files which will get replaced, as a precaution, please? Backing up and restoring takes quite a while (some minutes vs. a few seconds compared to a patch )
Edit: maybe I haven't noticed it, but I'm on 4.0.4 update 2 (forgot the exact build number - as I said, I'm new to the GN ) so... where exactly (or rather, how) can I spot the differences before and after applying the patches?
Actually I have included in the zip the original libraries too with the extension ".orig" for ICS 4.0.4
They may work on 4.0.2 too, but I did not test them. You can copy your original libraries for example in /data/local/tmp/ and restore them later if you need by mounting system rw...
Tested this on the Modaco ROM ..
Seems to break system sounds. Music doesnt play anymore.
Phone calls still work though...
Caustic 2 does say 20ms latency..
going back to stock for now but sure deserves attention..
Unfortunately I don't know the Modaco ROM. On ICS 4.0.4 it works flawlessly with any sound source I tested so far.
So this should work on rascream ROM then? (AOSP from source with very few color changes...basically stock)

Would someone be kind enough to graciously tell us if this made a difference (and what other bugs they've noticed) with their ROMs and device performance? Not that I'm scared or anything, but I'd like to be aware of what I'm trying to spot the difference in.
Seems to work fine with newest AOKP. Thanks!
If rascream ROM is AOSP with very few color changes then this should work in the maguro version.
This sure sounds a very interesting project. I hope you get lots of feedback and continue to work on that. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed that lag you are talking about. Most probably my ear isn't trained to spot it. How could I reproduce it, so that I would notice the difference before and after?
Thanks
The lag is very easy to notice in a Skype of Google Talk call for example.
Also, you may try apps like "Caustic 2" - hit the keyboard and notice a lag of the generated sound from the moment you tap the screen, or "DroiDrum"... you don't need a trained ear for that...
Works great on newest aokp! Thanks can definitely tell a difference in caustic especially before flashing this.....good job
Flashed this on rascream and all seems good.

yeah I wouldnt worry about Modaco..
its not a "full" 4.0.4 rom so thats probably why it didnt work for me..
quick question... would this increase battery usage, or has any of you testing this noticed something like that?
It might increase battery usage, but I didn't see any noticeable difference.
I've searched, trawled and read through so many threads and cannot make my mind up which way to turn (I'm so indecisive). There is so much choice (which is a good thing in some ways and not so good in others) but it's confused the hell out of me. I could flash various ROM's and kernels all the while having to restore my data each time and run it for a while to see if it is suitable for my needs. This seems to the moderators general consensus for those asking what the 'best ROM' is (Understandable). But this (having to flash ROM's and kernels each time) is tedious and there is always some element of risk that you could end up with a bad flash the more you do this.
So here I am asking. Please note I am *NOT* asking which the best overall ROM is. I understand perfectly well that there is no best ROM and each ROM has different functionality and features that are suited to different peoples needs. I am asking which ROM suits *MY* needs. If moderators decide that I am asking what is the best ROM then I guess I will have to try harder to argue my case.
I don't mind if it's GB, ICS or JB - obviously I would *LOVE* to have a JB ROM but it's still in its infancy and has certain issues simply because there is and never will be an official JB ROM for my phone (Thanks Sony!).
My current setup is a 2011 Arc S currently running JJ Hybrid 3.1 (still) and ArcKnight kernel (forget which build).
I am not overly interested in fancy GUI's, themes, extra functionality or overclocking, although it would nice to have them 'just so long as they don't impact on performance and stability'.
Things I want.
#Rooted with CWM is a given obviously
#As lag free as possible (It takes several seconds to launch Contacts at present and laggy key presses in the phone dialer annoy)
#Good battery performance
#Increased memory
#Bloatware removed
#Removal of or fixed/tweaked default apps (For some reason the default browser sucks CPU/battery dry and I have disabled it on current ROM).
#Smooth 720p video (is this even possible either in the FW or through a mod?)
#Good camera performance (Use a mod?)
#Status bar with quick toggles and notifications
#Good WIFI, 2G,3G/HSDPA performance (especially if 3G is tweaked as I get poor signal in some places)
#Bravia engine (1 or 2?)
#Correctly functioning hardware including LED's/Side LED/Buttons/Sensors (brightness, rotation etc)
#STABILITY (as little bugs as possible basically)
#Easy upgrade path between builds (not having to wipe data each time although I realize this is sometimes required)
#WIFI tethering
I don't care much for HDMI output but if it works it's a bonus. Things like USB OTG and USB mass storage would also be useful but not essential.
I think that's all of it. If moderators still feel this is a 'best ROM' thread feel free to contact me privately to cast your warnings. Hopefully though they will see this is a bit more specific than that and actually asks more pertinent questions rather than a blanket 'which ROM is best' question.
Thanks for reading

Hi.
While this may not be a best ROM thread as you say, its just as equally annoying. You've listed what most of us want from a ROM, and as you say you've read this that and the other then its time to pick one and flash it. If you think the process of flashing custom ROMs is tedious then learn how to mod, tweak a stock ROM to your own liking then you won't need to rely on others to tell you what to flash.

Did u read that? Flash and test yourself
We can't say, what fits you, we don't know your life. You know it the best, you should find the perfect one.
XDA is not a place, where people are slaves, stop being lazy and do something yourself aswell.
Look at ROM's overviews, features, functions, read comments (if you want to know more about the ROM) etc.
Try them, put them to the test in regular usage. Then you find one. We can't say, which one is good for you.
yeah he is right!
Atomic Gb is awesome !
xtremesilencer has done some great work to make it!
ohhh wait a min!
i am xtremesilencer that was a joke
and if you want to know about a rom then go to the thread or check the feedback
dont open new new threads !!!!!
I'm on ICS because of the mobile data manager (built in, doesn't work on gb) as i have a limited data plan.
I'm right now on the xperia t rom, it is really great, the battery lasts up to two days. (3-4 hours display on, around 10h mobile data and wifi is always on).
Using the stock 587 kernel. Never had such an amazing battery life

Whilst I understand the sentiment of 'try them for yourself' and 'you are just being lazy' and 'read the comments' etc. It takes *TIME* I don't need overclocking. I don't need all the fancy themes. I don't need a ton of tweaks other than those that meet the basic requirements I have listed.
As I said whilst there is a healthy development community on this particular device, it is hard work to find the right ROM. I have to go through the list of ROMS, kernels and mods in the thread stickied in 'General' (I noticed at least one ROM is missing from that list btw). On the whole it does not tell me a lot other than name, ROM, base (GB, ICS, JB) and then you have to spend a lot of time trying to find out all the info about the ROM by going to the ROM's thread, read about it's features, how to install it, which kernels work best with it, how to fix, patch or workaround any problems found (usually buried deeper into the thread with sometimes 'hundreds' of replies so you might not know about the patches and workarounds until you actually install it and when you ask in the thread someone says it was mentioned earlier in the thread which you now have to search through) etc etc ad nauseam.
I'm just looking for a shortlist of ROM's to try based on others opinions that meet my criteria.
I do also believe that there should be a sticky that instead of ostracizing members for asking 'which is the best ROM' as there currently is (which I know can be annoying for the moderators) instead should offer opinions and experiences. Which ROM's offer which features and how well they perform and yes, perhaps even a poll.
This would be the 'go to' thread for all those people (including myself) who are stuck for choice.
But perhaps this is too much work (I guess you could say to me I should do it then and keep it updated since I am so interested in it)...
The forum is chaotic as it is. But this is the nature of forums.

Unfortunately, that's what most people would have to go through to actually find a rom that they would stick with. Luckily I tried 1 and never moved away because it was suffice. Here's a list to shorten the task, tremendously for you
Ultimate HD
Beautiful ICS
Jelly Sandwich - I've been using this one for months without changing. I'd recommend version 7.4 as it's stable and anything version 8 and above are a hassle to install and have ugly icons =/
Atomic GB - The only gingerbread based rom listed as opposed to ics so bear in mind the cybershot wouldn't work
I can't really comment on any of these roms' 'personal sufficiency' other than jelly sandwich, but these are the ones I would test if I were you good luck
well XDA is a dev site where devs share their creations for each other, they're not obliged to put them up here and frankly it takes a billion times more work to make a rom than to look through the ROM threads

Xperia T ROM is the way to go!
I too was in the same state 3-4 months back and all I wanted was a stable & smooth ROM (better than stock, of course). So, I went thro most of the threads and based on the feedback of many, I narrowed down on Ultimate HD. Sure its a better ROM and I was happy using it for close to 2 months. But after prolonged usage, it started to lag. Only then, I started experimenting with multiple ROMs.
There are ROM u would start hating it immediately after installing it and there are which will make u to stick with it for a while. After testing bunch of ROMs, I finally landed on Xperia T ROM. Its not the most talked about ROM around, but definitely has its own fan following and Im definitely going to be one among them. It has all the MODs that I wanted (toggles, latest apps, cybershot, small apps etc...) and yet it offered smoothness and free RAM of close to 100 MB. Most importantly, it offered loads of options while installing (in Aroma Installer). So, you can pick and choose whatever u want. It is one of the few ROMs wherein Sound Enhancements in Walkman player and Online mode in Album works out of the box without any tweaking!
So, I suggest you to give it a shot. Im sure u wont regret it
Hmm. Just read that T ROM has broken wifi tethering. Also read that AOSP ROM's don't have in call mute? It's quite a bit involved installing that ROM by the look of things too. I will monitor the thread for a while though and ask about the in call mute feature.
Sometimes, it's not about the ROM, it's the mods you flash on the ROM. I have been using stock ROM for quite some time and I have flashed a few mods to tweak and improve the stock ROM. You can go to the Themes and Apps section to find these kind of mods.

AW: [Q] Which ROM offers the following?

Your mixing everyrthing up, battery and performance, perfect stability and design....
Long time lurker, first time poster (which means I can't post in the actual ROM thread). If my thread is inappropriate, please feel free to revise/delete as necessary. If additional information is needed from me, please advise.
By way of background: I have experience with flashing on this phone dating back to Gingerbread with IncredibleHD and MikRunny from "another site". I came over from a Samsung Fascinate where I was also flashing ROMs. So while not an expert in the actual development of the device, I would like to think I am somewhat experienced with flashing ROMs at least.
Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30Final Questions:
With my current flash of Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30Final, I am not running any themes and installation should be basically standard (though I did have to flash the October GApps package over it because there was no way to set up a Google account).
1. Aroma: The Revised OP still talks about the Aroma installer (I know that there have been two versions of the ROM zip in the past). When I flashed 2.19.30, there was no Aroma installer. Bad download or mistake in OP? Answered in Post #4.
2. Camcorder: Regular camera and FFC are working correctly. The OP says that the camcorder has 720p enabled at this point. However, I do not see anywhere in the settings to change the quality of the camcorder, and the camcorder is currently recording at 480p. How do I change the camcorder to 720p? Answered by The Man himself in Post #14.
3. Bluetooth in Car: With the various AOSP ROMs, when connecting the phone to my car via Bluetooth (not A2DP, just a headset profile), I get sound but it is garbled beyond belief while ringing. For any music buffs, the sound is basically the first chord of "I Believe In a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness...as the sound of a phone ringing. Per Rushead's post #710, it appears that Bluetooth headsets and in-call voice are not functional, which is a known issue in AOSP ROMs under ICS and JB with no fix. Has this been resolved in this ROM since "everything" works but LED camera flash? Answered in Post #9 via OP for Incredibly(^<Paranoid Collection.
4. Status Bar Clock: I want to eliminate the clock in the status bar. I go in to the AOKP settings via Settings > ROM Control > Clock > Clock Style and select "No Clock". This removes the clock from the status bar. However, when the phone goes to sleep, and I come back through the lock screen, the clock is back. Going back in to the settings as referenced above, the "No Clock" option is still selected...and yet there is a clock there. If my memory serves me, in Aeroevan's CM10 the option would be under Settings > System > Status Bar, but there is no option for the clock there in Incredibly(^<Paranoid. Obviously not a huge deal, but just curious if anyone has a suggestion. Answered in Post #9; works fine in CM10 so who cares.
Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
VenomINC 1.3.1 Question:
While my primary questions are related to Incredibly(^<Paranoid as I am digging JB at the moment, as I am already running up my technical support bill I figure I will ask a VenomINC question as well.
I have tried the various Sense-based ROMs under ICS (but VenomINC in particular...same thing, standard install, no themes) and have a giant issue that does not seem to have popped up in that thread: everything works perfectly, with one exception: no audio comes out of the headphone jack. I have tried an aux cable in the car, regular headphones...nothing. This makes the Sense ROMs unusable for me personally, as I spend a good amount of time in the car for work and listen to podcasts/music.
As best I can tell, I believe that this only happens with Sense 4 based ROMs (UKB, ViperINC, EclipticSense over on "another site") but not with Sense 3.6 ROMs (Ascension, the Nitsuj ICS leak) or with CM based ROMs (including Aero's CM10). I will note that I have not tried changing the kernel - I understand that Viper is using the Chinese kernel, while some of the other ROMs have the leak kernel.
The issue was raised in the ViperINC thread by user artcotto in post #s 615, 634, 689, 691, and 693 with no resolution beyond Nitsua98 helpfully suggesting that maybe his headphones were broken (they were not). I have flashed the various updates to ViperINC since November and the issue has not gone away. Any information on this would be appreciated as well as I am a bit of a flashoholic and would likely go back and forth between Sense and AOSP (even though as noted above JB is pretty awesome).
Thank you for the great community and for any information and assistance you can provide. Thanks to all the developers for all the hard work you have done for our phone (which was apparently ancient and incapable of upgrade by HTC the second we bought it) allowing me to have a current phone without needing to buy a NEW phone.

great questions. i am in the same situation...a little experience but not enough forum-cred to post in dev.
i'm currently running ViperInc 1.3.1, just plugged in my el-cheapo RCA headphones and they work fine. sorry bro :-/
i'd love to see some answers to your 2.19.30 questions.

Have you tried earlier versions of ViperInc? I am using 1.0.2 and have none of the issues I was having with 1.3.1 (which were not your issues - just lag). Another question would be - and I'm not sure this would really affect the jack - have you flashed the firmware?
Re: [Q] Questions re: Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30Final, Sense-based ROMs
Question number 1: that was a kind of op misunderstanding, a previous version included aroma, while the best one does not, your download was fine

I have not tried going back to prior versions of ViperINC, though I believe I have used from 1.1 onward and had this issue. I didn't mention in my original post, but yes, I have flashed the ICS firmware with the 0320 radio. Maybe 1.0.2 would be worth a try (though I'm not sure there is a way to get old versions of the ROM).
Re: [Q] Questions re: Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30Final, Sense-based ROMs
This might sound odd. I've been on viper the longest. No lag. I installed super su n un installed their SU. Also got a busy box installer from the market n updated the phones busy box. I'm also running defensed but made sure I popped in rosie, but it's frozen n I'm running nova. Night n day I tell ya.

fwiw, i also have 0320 radio with headphones working fine. i was previously on ViperInc 1.2.0 and EclipticSense and it also worked fine.
Can you think of anything else you did with your phone around the time you first started experiencing the headphone issue?

Not that I'm aware of. As I mentioned above, I don't think it's a "hardware" issue, in the sense that even now I have no problems with CM 10, Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30, etc. My best thought was that it may be something with the way the Sense 4 ROMs interact with the hardware, i.e. maybe the kernel on my particular phone? But I have no idea. At some point I will try flashing the "leak" kernel over the VenomINC install.
What I'm more interested in at this point is 720p recording on Incredibly(^<Paranoid2.19.30Final (And I am looking forward to Chilly throwing together a CM10 ROM).
If we keep going back and forth we can rack up enough posts to start posting at the grown-up table :good:
So the revised OP for what is now the Incredibly(^<Paranoid Collection answered a couple of the questions.
Bluetooth phone calls do not work in any of Chilly's ROMs.
I flashed his CM10, and the issue with the clock in the status bar is resolved. This leads me to believe it is an AOKP/PA issue; I am fine with CM10 anyway so no big deal there.
However, when I flashed CM10, the same issue exists with the camcorder. FFC and regular camera work great for photos; there is no option to change the camcorder to 720p.
Re: ViperINC issue: I flashed ViperINC 1.3.1 again, and this time I flashed the "leak" kernel over it. Still no audio through the headphones. I tried turning Beats Audio on/off, did not do anything.
Only issues I have with Viper is it will not connect to my media server via the native apps. I also have been experiencing lag but I think it's mainly due to lack of ram as a reboot usually clears it up. Also if you toggle gps off it doesn't work unless you reboot.

I did not install XLoud in the Viper Installer, just went with Beats. As I said in the OP, I know that my issue was previously mentioned but it does not seem like anybody ever found out the cause.
Bluetooth phone calls are not a dealbreaker for me. At this point, if the 720p recording is actually working, I would be happy with CM10 as a daily driver (though I may check out Evervolv as well to see what 4.2 can do). I just can't find the setting...
So what I think I pieced together: the Chilly collection of ROMs does not have 720p recording. When he was talking about the camera being fixed 99.999% except for flash, he was talking about FFC only, and the ROMs do not have 720p recording. I am hoping I am wrong but confirmation would be appreciated.
It may be a situation like the DKStunna thread, where it was proudly proclaimed at the top that "EVERYTHING WORKS", except for the stuff that didn't that you were just supposed to know hadn't been fixed. When Chilly said in Post #875 that "Lol FFC can works ..led flash works but not with taking pictures...video etc works" that does not appear to mean that 720p recording works.

I had got 720p working but it caused problems so I removed it u caught the thread before the revamp
Currently working on most my roms is
FFC with recording
Tethering with 3party app
I will be implementing fixes for led flash
Blue tooth works but has some bugs
Mostly everything works with fixes that I will be implementing
The pa I upped has fixes already baked in ..I'm yet to try BT yet
Once fixes have been baked the roms will be fully functional minus 720p

That must have been what happened...I have kept up with the thread fairly regularly and thought I saw that 720p had been figured out, but as you said that must have been before it was pulled. I was confused why nobody was mentioning it in the thread considering it would have been big news.
Chilly, thanks for the response, and thanks for all the hard work you do to make the phone feel like new. We're lucky to have such talented devs keeping our device relevant. Keep doing what you do! :highfive:
To the Mods: that should wrap up this thread if you want to lock it. I do not believe there is an answer to my remaining question about ViperINC and audio through the headphone jack.

Hehe even the mods have moved on...
Once everyone leaves this device Verizon will update it like the thunderbolt.
Sent from my Nitsy CM7.
I don't think it was mentioned, but did you try a reflash / redownload?
Probably not going to do anything, but worth a shot.

Sweet. I'm locked in my phone till November so I'll be like 1 outta 12 people left with the phone rocking ICS. Sounds exciting
Can usb tethering be done in cm10. I saw the WiFi app thread but nothing on usb.
Not to bump an old thread, but since I still can't post in the actual development thread: Chilly said in Post #1369 of his ROM thread that "No such thing as 100% but yes everything should work other then rotating hard keys bust out the champagne!"
Therefore my question is, once again: how do you change video recording quality to 720p in the camcorder? There still doesn't seem to be an option for it. Any info would be appreciated.
Hello,
I would need some help with modding my Xperia Arc S. It has currently official 4.0.4, nothing rooted, unlocked etc. I know for sure it can be rooted and it's bootloader can be unlocked. Already checked it but what to do next? I saw some mods with installation notes but those are probably for users who know what to do.
What I would like to change in my phone:
- I need a new android, preferably 4.2 or 4.3 (if not bugged)
- very fast response to all basic stuff functions like making calls, sending sms, browsing net, facebook
- I dont play games at all, not interested
- 720p camera recording
- good battery life
- stability
Which rom would you recommend and how to install it on my phone step by step?
There are no 4.2 or 4.3 ROMs, that have HD video recording feature. All of them have it disabled.
Might be 4.1 too, just not 4.0.4 I dislike it a lot
Well, if you demand all of these things.. I may think you're a guy who would loooove to see This, and try each. My personal recommendation for the things you ask? Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. You can see there at the index the 4.1.2 available ROMs, it's up to you to find which works better with your device. Good luck and happy flashing!
