I know, everyone's a critic, especially someone like me who can't do what any of you all do - I just you your stuff, then complain.
But seriously, I love this boot - I had something like this on my 8525, then my Fuze!

I would like to know if this would work with stock rom also, more specifically the T-mo US stock rom, I know that the 1% battery mod works with the stock tmo us rom, but not sure whats needed for the boot anim to work, esp since we have no busybox for the tmo us HTC One

Thx for this awesome boot animation.

Thank you for pointing it out. Feedback is important in getting better at what you do, so it's appreciated
I may upload a fix later today or tomorrow.
About Stock ROM, I haven't tested this yet, but I think there is a write protection on /system which would make it useless as it would get deleted on next boot. But I wonder how 1% mod works then. Maybe someone with more insight on this can help here.

Fixed version is in the first post. Just redownload from the links provided there and reflash.
Fixed the "Tocuh" typo, changed to correct Android version and also made it a bit slower. It's retro, huh?

Works great on Revolution

There is definitely some kind of write protection, which rewrites the file when you reboot. Im still digging trying to find a way around this for my rooted but stock HTC One with custom recovery.
I really love this boot animation. Had something very similar on my Galaxy Nexus before the One.

Dose it overwrite it even when you install it in recovery? Other than that, there is a kernel module which disables the protection, but I don't know how to use it on stock.

Flashing it via recovery did not work. It either got overwritten again, or the zip was flashed to a different directory. The flash seems to be working for those running custom roms though..

This is awesome! Makes me want to overclock the same way haha

You can disable the write protection, but its not as easy as flashing something. Have not done it myself, but I saw the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230341

Welcome to SenseMOD FlashONE. A collaboration between Floatshow and me.
We're both porting newbies who are trying to learn.
Thanks to the tutorial of proxuser, and the help from some XDA members, we managed to port Sense 4.0A to where it can be for now.
And of course, this is only the beginning of a very great ROM. Expect more to come!
Android ICS 4.0.3
Sense 4.0A
Based on the lastest HTC One V (Primo) RUU
Virtuous Primadonna Kernel
Aroma Installer
A stock look.
Bugs:
WiFi tethering
Camera
Games like Temple Run
Aroma customizable:
AdBlock
Polaris Office
Apps: 3G watchdog, Adobe reader, Titanium Backup, ES File Explorer, HTC Scan App, InfiniteGAG, Flash Player, Maps, OneNote, Screenshot, SetCPU, Spotify, Street view, Talk, XDA forum app
3D Rosie
Mobile Bravia Engine
Bluetooth Audio Mod
Sony parts
Make sure you have a custom recovery
The ROM isn't signed, so make sure sign check is off.
Wipe everything except for /mnt/sdcard
Run the zip from the recovery
follow the steps on-screen
Reboot (except if you have HTC Bootloader unlock!)
For people who have unlocked their bootloader at htcdev.com:
make sure you have a folder with ADB, and the kernel from the zip ready in it.
From recovery: adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
And because the first boot takes very long:
Code:
adb logcat
To check what your phone is doing.

Of course, Floatshow. If you thank this post, thank floatshow's posts in this thread too! (#2)

Can be found on our website
How we update our ROM.
For the new users:
- You can download every version from our website
For exising users:
- Update OTA
- for every 0.0.x update, you do not download the whole ROM again, but small flashable zips
- every x.x.0 update will come as a complete rom with full wipe.
- of course, every update will come up on the website.
Please note:
We made some sloppy mistakes with the v1.4 update (we wanted to update too quickly hehe)
- aroma still gives v1.3.1
- we havent included the UpdateMe.apk in our ROM which makes it OTA-compatible. Download it HERE
Wow, awesome ! Another Sense 4.0 ROM! It's great to still see new development for our HTC Vision!

Lol. I don't know who told you it was fake, but I really see difference. (And on my pal's Wildfire S the difference was even bigger)

There's apparently problems on devices other than Desire S.
But please bear with us, it is difficult to work on devices we don't own.
Difficult, but not impossible.
That's why we need testers !
If you wanna be the "official" tester of this rom for your device, pm me or djpbx.
You'll help fixing remaining bugs.

Thanks for your work guys!! I try to flash the rom once it had finished downloading!!
Oh my god, the installation process is just.. awesome jeje the fisrt ROM I flashed in this way.. wow! Now lets try the ROM
Awesome job!
EDIT: the ROM is not booting, just a black screen. I'll try to boot it without BE.
God, with so many Sense 4 ROMs in development, I am so eager to dump my perfectly-working-but-low-free-RAM-setup with Android Revolution HD. The worst part is I have my exams in a few months, and probably all the stuff will be working in ICS by then.
What a bummer. Keep up the goodies, guys!

So the ROM is not booting.

Good luck and thanks for you efforts!
Or when installing ROM,
do you see the following lines, after "Writing system..."
"Writing Vision files" ?
"Writing Vision kernel files" ?

Here is problem as I can understand:
You can't boot with virtuous sense kernel if you have altered ro.build.fingerprint or ro.build.description, so check if you have done so.
You might need to change it to some value at which someone has confirmed it to boot.
You can use the values I've put in my rom "IceZSense" from the development thread or try with some other value.
Next, I have a suggestion for you that you should try to port : Cooldroid 3.0 from Desire S forums.
As it has 3d rosie and partially working camera. It also has leedroid tweaks and tons of other stuffs.
Also, instead of using virtuous kernel try with cyanogenmod kernel as it will have the camera developemnt which has already done.
To do so, extract the ramdisk from primo ruu of tha base and change the file names from "primo" to "vision", and replace the ramdisk in cm kernel with this modded ramdisk and recompile boot.img.
This should work fine and if not try with tiamat kernel as they have some development in field of sense camera development. Use the zImage from tiamat kernel and ramdisk from primo RUU and change the file name as stated above. Compile this to have boot.img and try with this one.
Due to my examination I'm not able to devote enough time to development, so If guys have some time please try to do so.
Youcan find testers in development thread and chnage the title to [WIP] OR [TESTERS NEEDED] to attract attention.
If you need any help which I could provide, I would be happy to do so.
Happy porting.
Ok, thanks for your reply.
Some info you have to know :
- This ROM was originally for Desire S, and fully works with this phone.
- I'll take a look at ro.build.description and ro.build.fingerprint.
- I'm not gonna port CoolDroid 3.0 ROM, and camera doesn't work on this ROM. ronks888 just got more options appearing when launching APK but no preview, no stills, nothing.
-LeeDroid doesn't fully work in CoolDroid. We'll add this into the ROM, but only when we fix issues on each device
- I /highly/ doubt camera will work even with CM9 kernel. But don't worry for that, we'll have it soon, as well as USB tethering. Nexx is working on 3.0 msm7x30 kernel.
Thanks anyway for your help

Yes, we're (djpbx and I) actively working on it.
But without a full logcat when the phone tries to boot, we won't be able to get it working.

I could download and flash and get a logcat if you want
I just have to copy and paste from my cmd line to notepad as my logcat.txt doesn't work. As long as you don't mind that I would be happy to do so
How do you turn off the check sign in recovery as said in op?

The problem you are going to face is the exact reason why I developed the "Battery Mod Tool" for users to make their own battery mods. As soon as CM9 is released nightly, your flashable zip will not work. 75% of CM9 users are flash addicts and will want to update to latest CM9 straight away.
I know this because I started out with 30+ different zip's for each of the different batteries then as soon as a new CM9 was released, I had to update all 30+ zip files. I ended up writing a script to do this for me but it became a headache to upload and provides "valid" links etc. Back then, CM9 was not released nightly like it is now.
Now, the reason it won't work for every update is because I have the resources.arsc file in my zip file (as I see you also have now) One would assume, you do not need to have this .arsc file however, on many occasions, I have challenged other users to remove it and see what happens when you flash the battery without it. The problem is, this file contains "resource" information about the additional 170+ images I have added that Android wouldn't know about in the Stock SystemUI.apk so in other words, you have to replace it so Android knows the extra resources are there. The XML's point Android to the resources. If a ROM already has 1% increments, then you don't need this resources.arsc file and you just need to replace the PNG's. CM9's default battery still doesn't show 1% increments so until that is changed, you can never create a "Universal" flashable ZIP for all versions of CM9.
If you don't recompile this reources.arsc file with the latest version out then not only will it most likely crash SystemUI, you might actually be overwriting new code that has merged into the latest nightly.
I would suggest just adding your images to my thread and let the users make their own flashable zips whenever they feel like it. You'll keep your sanity this way. This is by far the most effcient method for EVERYONE as with the collapse of free hosting sites, it makes it difficult to maintain 30+ batteries with the limited bandwidth available to free accounts. Users download the images once and create the Battery Mod themselves.

As requested by you, my grateful users, I humbly present to you...
The WildChild Sense ROM
This is basically your stock HTC Sense 2.1 ROM, with a few extra twists:
WildChild themed (hope ya like blue!)
Einstein Frat's latest "Cake" (v1.4) over-clocked kernel
De-Odex'ed ROM (with an Odex version coming very, very soon!)
Extra alarm & notification sounds
a2sd support (with Link2SD bundled... go nuts.)
Wake screen with volume rocker
CRT animation on/off
Removed the Google Market updater (will provide it as an Add-On, if users wish it)
Some extra crap I'm almost certainly forgetting
Adobe Flash player
Barcode Scanner
Link2SD
Terminal Emulator
AnEq Equalizer
FileExpert
GPSStatus
NoFrills CPU
Notepad
Partitions Info Lite
ScreenFilter (for making your screen ultra-dark)
Startup Auditor
Superuser
WiFi Manager
Wifi Tracker
(ALL apps are at current version, as of today)
As with the original WildChild ROM, I will add flashable .zip "Add-On" packages as users request them. There are currently Add-Ons unique to WildChild Sense (see Post #2, below) or you have the option to experiment with the numerous Add-Ons from my previous WildChild ROM (found here). I suspect most of the original WildChild Add-Ons will work with this Sense ROM, just stay away from anything marked "Nemus" or "Rosie" unless you know what the hell you're doing.
There are two versions of this ROM: Odex'ed and De-Odex'ed. Search on these XDA forums to learn the difference. The Odex'ed version here gives you about 108 MB of internal /data space free for your applications install.
WildChild Sense De-Odex [v1.0]
MD5 = a784c5e8be9c019a2b09c81b3bda0363
WildChild Sense Odex [v1.0]
MD5 = 43649c3bf780dd216d2cb782e86cf4ed
As far as Sense 2.1 ROMs go, this one's pretty slick. Not only is it VERY stable (I tested it for two weeks prior to release with nary a single force-close, hang, or reboot) but, as usual, it's pretty phucking good looking. If you enjoy the Sense UI as much as I do, then I hope you have fun with this ROM. Feedback, as usual, is very much welcomed.
Installation instructions are similar to the previous WildChild ROM. Get 'em here.
Enjoy,
...oh, and since no one will download a ROM without 'em, here are your beloved:
[+] WildChild "Recovery" flash (for when you f*ck up your ROM big time!)
(Recovery Download for DeOdex ROM)
(Recovery download for Odex ROM)
This "Recovery" will replace essential services and framework in the WildChild Sense ROM. It is intended for you hacker folks who took tweaking a step too far and are now caught in a boot loop (or other disastrous consequences). By flashing this recovery, there is a VERY good chance that you will be able to reboot properly into your ROM (so that you may backup your apps, data, etc.) and then re-flash the ROM if necessary.
N.B. By flashing this recovery you may lose some customizations you've made to the ROM (but at least you'll get a chance to get your data back!), so use with caution.
[+] Change the colour of your boot animation
(See preview pics at http://imageshack.us/g/534/snowwhiteh.png/)
Coming soon...
[+] 5x4 app drawer
[+] remove my Ring of Fire lock screen and replace with stock
[+] other cosmetic tweaks and add-on's stolen from the original WildChild

I know. You can hate me later (when I release the "refresh" for WildChild!)
One of the most frustrating things I remember is setting up my ROM just the way I like it... and then a DEV comes along and releases a ROM I was interested and I was like, "noooooooooo!!! you bastard!".
I think I've spent more time flashing, configuring, and tweaking, than I actually have using my damned phone.
Thanks for all your positive input so far, anhelogr!
Cheers,

Seeing as it's using EF's Dust kernel I would assume not. It is based on GB2.3.5 and marvelc only supports 2.3.4 unless you add support for it when you compile the kernel (and from what I remember he didn't add that to any of his kernels).
Aight thanks, ill stick to cm9 then

Buy me a beer?!
Okay, I'm a little embarrassed to even being writing this but, since enough of you have asked me (both privately and publicly), I feel that I should at least give you the option of showing your gratitude.
I've linked a "Donate" button to the top of my Tigger avatar. You can use that if you wanna throw a buck or two my way. I promise that all money received will go DIRECTLY into my "weekend beer" fund, and not towards my wife or kids.
p.s. I didn't choose the horrible "Donate" icon; it is the standard XDA graphic. *yawn*
Thank you, kindly, for all your support so far.
Anyone tell me what flash player performance is like?
I've never had much luck getting flash player working on sense Roms, only cm7 seems to run it for me.
If someone can confirm it works then I'm in.

I'm on the homestarrunner.com website right now and it's working just fine!
It's Adobe Flash Player v11.0 that's bundled with the ROM. Works out of the box.

It's actually Cake v1.4... but I doubt it will work on CDMA phones.
If anyone wants to try and report back here, be my guest.
is this rom based on newest RUU?
ROM is good. But low scores on Antutu. Is adreno update installed or anything I missed.

There are no Adreno libs.
Also, the ROM scores low (compared to the "original" WildChild) because of all the Sense UI and packages that autostart. I've supplied a startup manager app that you can use to select what does/doesn't launch. If you tweak that (and plug in 768 Mhz/performance for CPU) then it scores a respectable Antutu score... but still nothing close to my Sense-less WildChild. The Sense UI really does take a lot out of a phone (but it's beauty is unparalleled, in my opinion!).
This ROM is purely for those Sense junkies. If it's speed & free RAM you're after, then WildChild (and even the WildChild/CM7-mashup) will make ya happy.

wifi problems shouldnt be hard to fix
a few things need to be identical
wifi set up in init.rc
wifi set up on build.prop (must match wifi board set up in boot.img)
wifi related bins (wpa_cli, wpa_supplicant, possibly wmdsi, wl)
system/etc/wpa_supplicant (must match)
really shouldnt matter which set up you choose (eth0, or wlan0) but all of those above must match
playstore is probably build.prop, but if not, could be drm related stuff in framework.jar
does primo use an internal sdcard or just microsd?
micro sd and yea all should be easy to fix, pretty sure the sdcard is just a matter of adjusting the framework
Awesome work!!
Good job man

Ok
And build.prop, a fast fix for the playstore 901 error, I think you need to change
ro.build.product=saga --> ro.build.product=primou
or as it will not be used anymore as said in the comment
ro.build.product=saga --> #ro.build.product=saga
I have no problem downloading from Playstore (I use option 1).
Gnite ... enjoy modding

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.
1.Make sure you're on the latest TWRP/CWM.
System Partition:ALL THOSE HAVING BAD BLOCKS PLEASE KEEP SYSTEM PARTITON ~220mb
Code:
misc ya 1M
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 210M
cache ya 2M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
2.MAKE A NANDROID!(OPTIONAL)
3.Wipe data/factory reset in recovery.
4.Flash ROM
5.Flash Gapps
6.Reboot
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT:
1. Stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
2. Explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
3. Collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Hi,
For those who want to try NATIVESD and flash gapps.
1.Download gapps from gapps-jb-20121011_NativeSD.zip - 90.33 MB
2. replace file mount_NativeSD.sh from inside the zip with file attached (rename mount_NativeSD.sh.txt to mount_NativeSD.sh first )
3. flash zip from recovery

Thanks for reply, I hear about wifi issue.
For me is biggest problem Data Drops, someone said that is because of MAGLDR - there is something wrong, did you hear about it? I don´t know what to do with magldr beacause there is very very old update.
Thanks
hello, to upgrade from version 2.54 to this, just change the name of the zip to update? or may not be updated and should be installed again erasing the above
thanks
