So I really like having the smaller taskbar height. but enabling that setting decreases the actual icon size waaay to much. I used photoshop to scale the icons from the standard height to the small icon taskbar height and it just looks SO much better.

I've been playing around in regedit, but I've only been able to modify the width of the highlighted size, which isnt what i was looking to do at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Btw, I'm running Start8 to get the startmenu back, but thats probably irrelevent.

I seem to have a problem with replacing smaller icons in .apk files and getting them to display correctly.
for example i was trying to turn the power savings bar (quick shortcuts widget) blue instead of green. i can replace the colors in settings.apk/res/drawable-hdpi with no problem and it does change the color but i can't seem to keep the icon smooth.
using photoshop cs2 if i replace color and save with no other changes the icon is not nearly as crisp.
larger program icons are no problem and seem to look very good.
but smaller icons for the buttons such as the screen timeout icons end up slightly blurred compared to the original. this happens even if i select the blank areas first and invert and create a new layer.
im sure it's something stupid a setting ect. im missing but if anyone has an idea id be appreciative.
only seems to happen or be noticeable with the smaller 47 x 47 icons.
doesn't seem to happen on even the 48 x 48 icons or larger.
Hmmmmm seems i found a fix. its a little more work but creating my own larger icon and rescaling down to the smaller size seems to work quite well.
a little more work but at least i get the effect i wanted.
still would like to know if anyone has an ez way to just recolor an image.
I have had many smart phones. This one by far has the largest screen and the smallest status bar. I have a battery app that displays actual % in an icon on the status bar. I can barely read it and have to focus hard. The status bar size seems overly small when coupled with such a huge screen. Is there any way or app that allows increasing the bar size and icons in it?

I'm having the same problem. Doesn't bother me much, though.
I would assume that changing the DPI (if you have a rooted phone) would do the trick. If not, perhaps increasing the font size would help, but I'm not sure about that...
I'm trying to find a mod/widget/or theme that I can put tabs flush against a home screen (vertical). These tabs would all be folders/apps. And if possible customizable titles for the tabs.
Anyone know of something I could use? Thanks in advance!
The only thing I know of that comes close would be Circle Launcher. It can be used in a vertical or horizontal straight line. I'm sure you could maybe position it against one side and you can customize the icons/labels.
Good luck!

I have been customising my Bronze 8.4 and have it looking pretty funky now IMHO.....

However I want to adjust the Icon Label Font Size (exclusively....I don't want to adjust the system font to achieve it....)
I have Xposed installed and have googled around fairly wide but cannot see a way to ONLY adjust the Icon Font Size...is there a way?
So I made a custom navbar. Using paint.net I have enlarged the icons multiple times and reflashed the zip. No matter how much I enlarge the size of the icon pngs themselves, Android continues to keep the images the same size in my navbar.
I'm assuming there's an xml file somewhere that sets a concrete size allotted for these icons. Does anyone know which file sets these values?
Also, I'm on 8.1 Dev preview opp6.
**EDIT**
After some reading and browsing through the decompiled systemuigoogle, it looks like the answer to my problem may be in res/layout/navigation_bar.xml. These tiny icons are so annoying to look at!
Well with the help of @Tulsadiver, i had to modify back.xml, recent_apps.xml, home.xml and dimens.xml in order to change the size of the navbar icons.
Putting this here in case anyone else runs into the same issue I did.
Can u please tell me what values u modified to disable the icon scaling? Or maybe send me ur modified and original xmls it will surely help. I will also try to make a magisk mod or something which can work in most roms. Thank you.
The scaling is nothing more than padding added to the icons that was not present in earlier versions of android. Shrink the navbar you must also adjust the padding or the original padding, top and bottom push against the icons making them smaller.
