[Q] Screen wont turn on with notifications - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I know most people don't want there screens to turn on when they get a notification, but I am in need of it. I do a lot of web work for a university and my phone sits on my desk so I can get notifications easily. The server is constantly sending me updates. I need the screen to turn on for at least 15 seconds. MY screen flashes on for .10 seconds no matter what I do.
I am rooted with stock rom. I am using widget locker and lockscreen notification app to see the notifications on my lock screen. The only time it stays lit is when I get a text message. O need it to work for all notifications. Any ideas?

[Q] [APP] Problem with widgetlocker and noled

Hi...this is my first post, except the presentation...
I have a problem with these two apps on my brand new galaxy s2.
The problem is: if I am using the phone and something arrives, the screen turns black and appears the notification of noled.
Foe example: I'm chatting with google talk, a message arrives and then the screen turns black with notification of noled...
It's a bit annoying
Are there any settings to change to solve this problem?!?
Thanks...
Anyone?
I have the same problem with NoLed, been trying all kinds of solutions but yet to get it to work.
If my screen is turned off and I get a message I can't wake the phone with the power button cause that causes black screen.
Have to use homescreen button, annoying.
in widget locker go to settings>advanced and disable "retain system keyguard". should help.

[Q] My trackpad light keeps flashing

Just rooted my phone and installed Cyanogenmod 7.0.3. Now for some odd reason, when I lock/turn the screen off on the phone the light around the optical trackpad keeps flashing every 10 seconds or so. I thought it was a signal light telling you that you have reception, but no even when I have zero bars it still flashes. Any suggestions on how I might make it stop flashing?

trackpad flash is for notifications, you may have an email, missed call, sms, mms, poke or tweet waiting to be read.

Your comment sort of traced the issue. I turned off "Pulse notification light" under Sound Settings -> Notifications and that stopped the light from blinking. However I want it to blink if I have something in need of attention, but I don't. I've checked Gmail, Email, K-9 Email, Google+, SMS, and Voicemail and there isn't anything.
It's also weird that the touch keys (home, menu, back, search) are always on when using the phone, I think before they didn't turn on unless I touched them but that's another thing.

Sometimes the light will bug out if you've had a lot of notifications and you've cleared them all at once or quickly. A reboot will fix it.
The touch keys lighting up are usually based on the ambient light sensor, which chooses whether or not its bright enough to warrant lighting up the keys to be easier seen.
Okay this is weird. The blinking stops after 10 minutes. I assume that's the threshold for the normal notification blinky otherwise it'll continue blinking if you don't check whatever was unread. For some reason its as if it thinks there is something unread everytime I unlock the phone and then lock it.

Hey there,
I'm having the same issue but never really tracked it down because I didn't care too much. But after reading this thread, I gave it another shot. Pulling down the status bar, it was the AlarmDroid-Entry (categorized as "Notifications", not as "Ongoing") that struck my eye. The way AlarmDroid (by default, see below) tells you about an active alarm is that it kind of posts a non-removable notification. I'd guess it keeps reposting it every few miliseconds via a service or something.
Turning the active alarms off does indeed eliminate the trackpad-flashing in my case, so I think this is more of an AlarmDroid and possibly other apps using similar status notifications issue than actually a cyanogenmod one.
Edit: just in case anyone reads this and wonders: AlarmDroid actually gives you the option to disable the notification behavior either by disabling the status symbol altogether or by putting it in the right side part of the status bar. See "General Preferences" -> "Display Settings" -> "Status bar symbol" for possible configurations.
Best Regards,

Thanks for the reply ... I fixed it by installing Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1. It was weird, I knew it was the ROM when I installed MIUI and then back to Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 and the flashing started happening again.
Also I don't use Alarm Droid ... either way, thanks for the reply.

SMS/MMS Face Unlock Issues

I am currently using Go SMS for my txt application. I have it setup to show a popup of a received txt message over the lock screen so I can quickly reply. If I look at the txt, and reply or close it out right away, everything is fine, but if I let it sit for a few seconds, and the screen turns off, when unlocking the screen, the camera doesn't kick on for face detection. The workaround that I have found to get past the lock screen is to press the Emergency Call button, then the back button, then it allows me to use the pattern lock screen to unlock my phone. Has anyone else experienced this?
Just a little more background, I'm running the stock ROM, and the phone is rooted.

[Q] Lockscreen/security issue

Have an issue with the way the lock-screen works on the galaxy s4, want to know if its a bug or the way the phone is. for example with the swipe no security option for lock-screen when you get a message it displays, lights up for about five seconds and goes off, i like that its handy. now however if i choose security, anyone of them i like the pin, and i get a message it lights up in the home screen with the message in the status bar and stays like that for the duration of my screen time out, if its set to 10 minutes it stays there for ten minutes, the only way to get around it is when security is enabled is to have it lock immediately, then the message displays like regular and goes off, i don't like that because i don't like putting in a pass code every three seconds. isn't it it suppose to display the message in lock-screen even with a security enabled but not lock lock as yet, like the way say HTC phones do, its annoying is this a lock-screen bug?

[Q] Notification light issues - can't tell what the notification is

Is there an app that will show me a list or log of apps that have triggered the home button notification light? Also, is there a list of what colors/flash patterns belong to which types of notifications? Rooting is not an option until my one year warranty is up and that's several months away.
Sometimes when I get a notification I'll go see what it is and clear it. The home button light stops flashing but then when Iput my phone to sleep the notification light will start blinking again. When I wake it up there's nothing in notifications and the home button stops blinking again but then it starts again when it goes to sleep. I've tried disabling different apps and have found what some of the notifications are but not all of them.
My wife and I use ICQ to chat since we've been on it so long and sometimes the phone tells me there's a new message when there's not. ICQ does a fast red flash on the home button so when I see it I have to open ICQ again and go to the chat a second time then back out all the way to clear it. That's not too bad because it's got a unique color and flash pattern so I know what it is.
Sometimes it's a blue light with a slower flash rate. I think that's for email but not sure since it's probably used by more than one app.
The one I can't figure out is a slow green flash. I've tried everything I can think of including force-closing every app and nothing makes it go away. Even rebooting doesn't fix it. It makes it impossible to tell if I actually have a notification unless the notification has a different color and flash pattern.
If there's an app or a way to see a notification history it would help me figure out why it's doing this.

Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull down notifications. The colors are usually set by each app in their respective notification settings. There's apps on the play store that can also help set colors but I think you need root. It's not hard to root and unroot though just don't unlock the bootloader.

Yeah, that's what I explained in my post. When I unlock my phone the home button LED turns off and when I swipe down to see notifications there are none, but as soon as I lock my phone it starts blinking again.
I just went through most of my apps and most have no options at all for the notify light. The only one that does is Facebook but the only option is for on/off and no option for the color. ICQ, GMail, and Outlook.com only lets me choose sound and vibrate. I don't think I've ever seen an app with options to select the color of the home button LED.
