Insufficient data. Turn off mobile data when not in use, lower screen brightness, turn the phone off when you don't need it...that's all the help anyone can provide with what you give us.

Really? A battery won't last longer when the phone is turned off? Having data turned on doesn't use any battery?

Read the OP and look at his screenshot.
None of what you recommended will effect excessive "Android OS" battery drain. None of it. All the items you recommend changing show up under the system battery readout under other discrete names. So no, turning off wireless connectivity or dimming the screen etc will not alter the OP battery life substantially. And turning off your cellphone negates the entire point of having a cellphone nvm a smartphone. All those measures are bandaids for underlying issues not actually solveable with a bandaid.
So yes. Really.

I do not see anything in the OP's original question that implies he asking how to handle the Android OS battery drain, just that he attached a screenshot and he wants better battery life. Anyways, I was being sarcastic so that the OP would get the idea that we need more data.

lets install extended kernel
Hit thanks if i help you ^_^

Google says stop wiping battery stats

Straight from Dianne Hackborn, Google Android Framework Engineer:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
Today's myth debunking:
"The battery indicator in the status/notification bar is a reflection of the batterystats.bin file in the data/system/ directory."
No, it does not.
This file is used to maintain, across reboots, low-level data about the kinds of operations the device and your apps are doing between battery changes. That is, it is solely used to compute the blame for battery usage shown in the "Battery Use" UI in settings.
That is, it has deeply significant things like "app X held a wake lock for 2 minutes" and "the screen was on at 60% brightness for 10 minutes."
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.
Deleting it is not going to do anything to make your more device more fantastic and wonderful... well, unless you have some deep hatred for seeing anything shown in the battery usage UI. And anyway, it is reset every time you unplug from power with a relatively full charge (thus why the battery usage UI data resets at that point), so this would be a much easier way to make it go away.

If you flash a new kernel, every statistic in battstats will be wrong. Its best to get rid of this file since your phones power requirements are now totally different.

The point in the op is that it doesnt matter. Its just a do nothing log file.
Ive read the notes to delete it after flashing..etc..etc...and i do, but I dont see a difference in it helping if i do... The difference i notice depends on the kernal i flash and/if i run a script.

Has anyone tried the link in that post to what HTC says to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712990
o also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly: 1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more 2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour 3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well.

wipe it and it's clean again and correct.
After reading this.......just removed the battery caliberation app from my phone
The only time you need to delete the battery stats file or use a battery config app is when you change your battery out for a higher capacity one. If not you will get incorrect readings.

But he says logged stats are only logged until a full charge.. Therefore wouldn't your stats only be erroneous until you charge your phone? So that means it is not necessary to wipe battery stats, because it will automatically be corrected either way, right?

One hour on regular battery

I must be doing either something really wrong or else...
My battery last me a little over one hour on standard battery (original rom+root) and that's me even using lean kernel. I've seen on forum some people were able to get as much as four hours of their screen why is it with my phone I'm only about to do so little?
What's the best so to see what's going on with my phone, who eats my battery, which apps are doing something that they shouldn't.
It really is killing me, I want to be able to enjoy my phone longer.

on the top of that whenever I can I always switch WiFi on to switch to WiFi instead of 3G and whenever WiFi is not available I always turn it off.

Why is my battery "done" ? I blame Sandy as before that it was fine, I'd easily do close to 2h of Screen time (at least 1h30m), now after Sandy due to reception that I'm getting right now I think that's why I'm getting so little now..

Your awake / screen on ratio looks pretty nutty to me. Basically your phone was awake for 4 hours, and your screen was on for 1 hour. Titaniumbackup kept your phone awake for 38 minutes; why is that?
Sign out of any google services you don't use like Google Talk and / or Google+.
Turn off location services and only turn it on when you need to. It's easy to toggle this by placing a Location services shortcut on your homescreen. This, for me, has had the largest impact on my idle battery usage. With location on, batt would drain around 2 to 3% per hour. Now it takes 3 hours idle to take the battery down 2%.

Help me fix my battery life!

Hi guys. Thursday last week I got a Note II, wonderful device. I see people stating that it eats 1% battery in 10-15 minutes, but for me, it eats 1% in 1-3 minutes, when in use. I am running MonxIfied Sent and RedPill 0.10 kernel with stock speed. It consumes very little battery when sleeping, but it is in use that is the problem. I will add some pics of battery usage. What's wrong?

To be honest it seems quite normal. Keep in mind it's a big screen plus if you have mobile data or wifi on then the phone is likely to be doing stuff in the background when the device is awake.
What does the partial wakelocks in better battery stats look like?
EDIT: Eh, never mind, if it consumes very little battery when sleeping it's probably not a wakelock...
There's a pretty steep drop there in the third screenshot, looks strange. Wonder what happened there!

Partial wakelocks should be of no concern really, unless his battery was draining fast when screen is off.

Interesting theory. Can't say I know for sure but I guess it's plausable if it has poor signal or drops out often.
Have you tired chaning the channel on it? I do that for my Xbox 360 sometimes if signal is crap.
You could also try flashing a different modem on your Note 2 to see if that improves things. I remember on my old HTC Hero and Desire HD changing the radio (modem) could often improve wifi / mobile data reception and as a result improve battery consumption.
Again, I'm not expert on this so just guessing!
72% with one hour screen on
13% drop when you used recovery
=> after 1 hour screen on 85 percent
=> after 6 hours screen on, 10% battery
=> your phone doesn't have a problem

[Q] Is there ANY way to save battery without rooting my device?

Hi XDA members and developers. I just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 International Version. 3 weeks old currently. I don't want to void any warranty itself. Is there any way folks? I lose 2% and hour just standby. and 10% and hour in Wi-Fi use.

SMS - Moderate Use
Cellular Data - OFF and GSM Only mode

Carrier - Sun Cellular Philippines
I posted my current device condition and status and downloaded application.
Please help me. I believe that SGN2 is a beast when it comes to battery.
Or If root is the solution. Give me tips.
There is nothing wrong i can see in your image 1. You have kept screen on almost half the time. it was even not fully charged (appr 95%) and still after 2 hrs of use it is about 83%. 12 % use with nearly 1 hr screen on time is normal when you have poor network.
Look to network, hardly you had 5-10 min good network, otherwise all the time you have it poor coverage, which is most juice drainer.
Thanks dr. Ketan

Interesting things happen when you wipe the cache. This is from my Nexus 7 during Video playback. Seem like the battery consumption gets attributed differently.
Exactly the same setting, ROM & Kernel, both cases I use MX Player Pro with H/W+ accleration to playback 720p videos. Only difference is in first case Screen battery consumption 83.5%, the other 57.7%.

Get Elemental X 1.8 and run it at stock clocks (1.5Ghz CPU/400mhz GPU) will probably give you the best battery life. If adjusting a lot of settings when installing a kernel is a hassle to you, get Bulletproof 1.3 instead. Bulletproof have the same developer(flar2) as Elemental X, it is basically a developer optimized version of Elemental X running stock clocks & optimized for Battery life.

I wipe them because like I said before, the file can get messed up when switching ROMS. It got messed up on my LG phone before so I wipe just to be thorough.

Thought so. Unclear answer as you don't have anything conclusive to say.
