How can I delete Morphology Folder? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I flashed moar and loved it but decided to give slimbean a try and now there's a folder in my internal memory that cannot be deleted.
I tried loading it onto a PC and deleting it. I've tried using a root explorer (ROM toolbox) and I've tried es file explorer. Anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Try using different file explorers, such as ones that require root maybe. Also try androzip qnd mount by tapping r/o and it should change to w/o and then try.
That's my best answer

Also. Twrp 2.5.0.0 had a file manager you can use. I confirmed that I can delete from it. Might be worth a shot, since it'll be done in recovery mode, when there's no way that the system would be using it.

Flash this in recovery and delete from it then do Menu > Exit, and reboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
Make sure you mount system before flashing it though, or tell the file manager to mount all blocks on start

Love you guys. I didn't know Twrp had a file explorer. That worked like a charm.
Thanks!

Synergy - /system/fonts mounted as r/o

OK, i have an Evo running Synergy RLS1 + GODMODE and the system is set as R/O. I need to gain access to /system/fonts anbd set to r/w. I have tried to use Root Explorer to no avail. I would like to permanently set /system/* to r/w and r/o at will. How would I go about doing that. I have tried using .ZIP files for Mount/Unmount system and tat still wouldn't let me change permissions to anything under /system. HELP.
Andrew
I don't know that you can "permanently" set it to R/W but if you use Root explorer, go into /system/fonts and click "Mount R/W" at the top that should give you the read/write access you need.
I tried that in Root Explorer and it never sets it to r/w.

Are the fonts named correctly? Are you rebooting afterwards?
There's a thread with a ton of flashable font zips, you can try that. Or if you can't find a flashable zip of the font you want, there's directions for making your own in the thread I mentioned. I'll see if I can find it & link you to it.
Edit: Found the thread, but looks like Matty beat me to it. Also remember that when rebooting you need to do a full reboot. If you have fastboot enabled, powering off & back on might not be enough, you'll either need to choose reboot from the long-press power options or from an app, or pull the battery.

Cannot move files to the system directory.

I downloaded a new boot animation. I'm trying to move it to /system/customize/resourses but es file explorer and Astros say file cannot be moved. I was able to move the original file out. Now I can't even move the original back. In ES I made sure the root explorer and mount file system boxes are checked. I have the permissions checked but still nothing can be moved in.

Does either of those apps have root permissions? Idk cuz I don't use them..but its easy to just use adb to manually push the file
I've never used adv to do this. Is there a how to somewhere?

I'm pretty sure that this app can accomplish what you're trying to do.

Use Root Explorer. So worth the $2. I don't use astro or ES, but if you can't copy or move anything in or from the root directory then / is probably not mounted as r/w. Look for an option while in the root directory that says "mount as r/w"

Yep root explorer is your best option. adb push can be used to, but its command line only.
Well I know what caused me to have this issue but I do not know the details why.
I was running the Mikrunny Odex ROM with the Red theme. I wanted to give the Coredroid theme a try so I installed the theme and this issue started. After many hours of trying to fix this I restored my backup from a couple weeks ago that has the red theme and all is good again. To reduplicate the issue I reinstalled the Coredroid theme and the issue returned.
I use es file explorer and i have no issues moving things to the system folders whenever I want. If its not working you may try to uninstall and reinstall the app and then go to the settings and make sure you check browse as root and mount system as r/w.

I did try this a couple times but still could not get files to move.
Hmm.. have you tried to delete es file explorer from your allowed super user apps and then open es file explorer to give it super user permission again.

Yep, did that too. I think it had something to do with a theme I installed. When I restored a previous backup I could use ES just fine to move the boot animation file.

That's what i was telling myself. However, after restoring my backup, I installed the theme again and once again I could not move files into the system directory or any of it's sub directories.

If you are ROOTED, in TWRP recovery go into advanced menu start up the file manger, navigate to the foder select delete you should be done.
If you not ROOTED download EFS Filemanger use this to delete the folder or file. exfat format does not support unix file attributes so you should be able to delete any file in it.
Also try this, make sure the file is completly downloaded, some times the system locks files that are not completly downloaded.

Simple thing you can try first, if not works then do as above said (TWRP)
setting - Appl manager - All - Downloads - clear data ( you may find two downloads, do same with other too)
then try deleting file from download folder as you did it earlier.
With root explorer go to the path and delete the files you want
thank you

Rooted, yet unable to....

I'm now rooted using CF method, no custom recovery though. I want to remain stock. But, one of the primary reasons I went ahead and rooted is so that I can get rid of the 2 horrible power on & off sound files. Is it just me or do you also find those completely obnoxious and loud??
Anyhow, here's the problem:
I've located the 2 files (poweron.ogg and poweroff.ogg). I don't want to delete them, I just want to rename them so they are in essence "hidden" and can't be called, therefore keeping my sanity everytime I shutdown or startup. But when I try to rename (I've now tried ES file explorer and Astro - both to no avail) the files, I get a permission denied or some other message saying the file is write-protected and I'm unable to rename or delete.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
You need to make the folder r/w (read/write) instead of r/o (read only). You should have that option in all root explorer software.
Install es file explorer, press the menu button and then root explorer. Then from there go to mount read/write and change the system checkbox to r/w. Now you should be able to mod the files.

Command line interface twrp

Hey guys got a question.... I was on the cyanogenmod thread and I someone posted a possible workaround for the freezing at the boot screen on 4.3 roms... I was told to delete the bootanimation.zip from system/media/ but I can't find it in there... There isn't even a media folder in system from what I see. (keep in mind I'm using the file manager inside of TWRP to try to locate it) I was wondering what the command is to delete the file using the terminal emulator or whatever selection I need to use to delete the zip.
The problem with it locking on the bootsplash seems to be that it couldn't get passed the bootanimation.zip file.
It looks like the method of using ODIN to flash a rooted stock rom manages to erase the bootanimation.zip, where as TWRP was leaving it there. If you get stuck there, go into recovery and fire up a command line interface (TWRP has one) and rm the bootanimation.zip file. I'll look back a few posts to find the path and post it here. Other than that make sure you are flashing the latest gapps and wipe your data and you should be good to go. Some folks have gotten away with a dirty flash but you'll have to uninstall/reinstall a bunch of apps.

rm /file/location/here.zip
And if you can't see something in recovery like that, make sure the partition is mounted.
