I saw a few people were looking for a battery case for the One with one individual questioning mophie as to when theirs would be released. Apparently all they said was it'll get here when it gets here.
Well, I was going to post a link, but since I'm a nub I have to wait until 10+ posts. The case is on Best Buy's website with the SKU of 8577046. Doesn't appear to add TOO much bulk, and adds 2,500 mAh.

I'd be more inclined to get a power pack rather than a battery case.
Battery cases ruin the looks of phones and power packs are usable on other devices, too.

Are battery cases usually that expensive? The ONLY thing preventing me from buying the HTC One is the damned lack of extended battery. If a battery case was $50 or less, I'd totally drop the money on the One right now. But at $100, I might as well just get the S4 and an extended battery for $18.

So you'd buy a TOTALLY DIFFERENT phone because of the battery? The S4 with extended battery is still an S4, TouchWiz and all. The extended battery doesn't change the dynamic.
It would be nice if the Mophie was available now.

The S4 and One are mainly "TOTALLY DIFFERENT" superficially. For me, my main concern is performance based on the hardware. The internal hardware is nearly identical with the only differences being:
-S4 is overclocked (can be done to the One and get same benchmarks)
-Cameras (they're both fine for me; I don't take many pics/videos)
-Screens (AMOLED vs. SUPER LCD, both are fine for me)
-Software (I don't care what either one comes with. I'm putting an AOSP build on it ASAP)
The two things keeping me on the One side is the build quality and the awesome front speakers. I never use cases on my phones since I don't like the bulkiness and after getting an extended battery on my S2, I can't imagine going out without it anymore and that's what's holding me back.
The phone I'd love to have is the Xperia Z but it's got an older CPU and I doubt anyone is going to make a battery case for that one due to its design.
I'd make an exception on cases for the One if it had a battery but $100 is way over my consideration.

Went to the corproate Verizon store in my area and got a 2750mAh battery for 26.50 after tax. He said all the Verizon stores were having a half off sale on 4g batteries.
Just to confirm, this is the indeed the case. I visited one in the Dallas, TX area and it was half off, apparently this is for ALL 4G devices... and in store only.
I received my VZN T'Bolt last week and it came with both a standard and extended battery in the package, but I didn't order two batteries. Anyone else get two? Anyway, the extended battery seems to last about 2X as long as the standard, which you might expect by its rating, but the extra weight and size will force me to use the standard battery most of the time, as I typically plug into the computer every few hours.
They have been half off for a good while now. I bought mine a few weeks back when they first went on sale.
are they still half off? and how much heavier is the phone? i flash roms and switch it up all the time, and i realized after using sense 3.0 for so long on my thunderbolt... i just want it next to plain jane functionality, just less battery drainage. seems to be the case now, killasense 3.2 is great!
i always wanted the extended battery, but i g2 do some research on a good case that'll fit it. any recommendations?

So I've seen a couple of eBay auctions for 3800mAh GNex batteries. I can't post the URLs here as links because I'm a too new here ( :-( ).
The price is right and the promise of 2x the rather modest battery life of the 1750mAh battery in my GSM GNex is hard to resist.
What does everyone think?
It will double the thickness of your Nexus, and has a cheap (and probably) non-ergonomic back cover.
I wouldn't it get as it has no NFC (Near Field Communication) antenna in it. Also, most of those cheap Ebay batteries are not rated as advertised.
Try it and get back to us. I'm trying the 2300 and 1900 mah GSM cheapo batteries from ebay and getting back to the community afterwards

Yes - that's one of them. Do a search for i9250 3800 and you'll be able to find the other.
Admittedly the back case doesn't look as nice as the stock one, but what I'm really worried about is my phone exploding in my pocket and injuring me. Or at least destroying my $600 phone.
This manufacturer has had a lot of similar units for various phone models.
I had been using a version for the Samsung Infuse 4G with no issues for 4 months or so, so I would expect the same for the Galaxy Nexus variant.
One thing to keep in mind however: these batteries DO NOT have the NFC Antenna in them, so you will not be able to use Google Wallet or the Android Beam options.
These batteries are actually are from a Droid Charge. I read it one galaxy nexus and i have tested it myself. There are some Droid Charge 3800mAh battery with good reviews you. But you still will need a back cover and will have NFC.

$11.89 for cover & battery seems fair for 3,800 mAh:

Just be aware that all batteries are not created equal, especially from china. Surefire batteries, specifically 18950 batteries used in high end flashlights. They just put a new shrinkwrap and recharge old batteries. Good or bad, it dont matter at least they look new. They advertise 3000mah, youd be lucky to get 2 of 10 that are 2000mah.

Well, given the price, I'd have to say it's going to suck, but then again - it's not that much money to try it - if you really need something that huge.
I would try it, but I'd rather wait for a package that comes with a case. In the end it's a $725 device that I don't want ding'd.
After trying a lot of these batteries on most of my phones over the years, I say that if it aint sold by the phone manufacturers, save your time and money.

Yeah, I know what you mean about multiple battery craziness lol. I have two generic batteries for my Thunderbolt AND a huge Seidio extended battery along with my OEM. The generics work just as well as the OEM.
Generally any battery for your smart phone under $40.00 probably isn't rated at what it says it is. I've managed a fairly good collection over the years. You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to them.

Both will give you about 80% of the capacity they put on the label. Everyone else will give you much less than that, 70% tops, and often half or less.
I think these cheapo $10 3800 extended batteries on ebay are pretty good if you come in with the right expectations.
Yes, we know they aren't 3800, and are closer to 3000, but that still gets you about 1000mah more than the stock battery.
Yes, they lose their capacity over time more quickly than a genuine battery, but you should treat these types of batteries as disposable.
Buy one for $10, use it for 6 months and then buy another one.

I bought it. Oddly the offer links you to this case: www.all4cellular.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-power-bank-external-battery-case-2200-mah.html
This clearly isn't the 3200 from the offer. Of course I'm going to make sure I get the one that retails for $79.99. For 32 bucks, don't think it's that big a gamble unless it doesn't function at all. But if anyone has any experience with these cases, please do share!

When you're on the case page (http://www.all4cellular.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-extended-battery-case-3200-mah.html) it says Case Color*. You can add black or silver/white to your cart. From there you add the coupon code that the Google Offer gave you and it'll reduce the price to 0.00.

Oh, ok got it. Never used google offers checkout before. I'm concerned about how bulky this will make it. Anyone have any ideas of how bulky it gets?
I took a close look at the pictures and if you see the holes for the camera/speaker you will see how deep it goes before meeting with the device. Seems too thick for me.

This might not be a great deal... saw this on ebay

Agreed, I'd never consider using something like this on a daily basis. Only for long travel days or weekend trips, anything where you won't be around a socket for awhile. Obviously there is a compromise between size and battery capacity. I think this would be easier than carrying around a spare battery and having to swap it out. However I've never used anything like this before.

I have been looking at this case. I am getting my phone in a few days. how much thickness did it add to your phone? I dont want to buy this then never use it because it makes it so thick. I have an iphone and have to have a case on because i hate how thin it is without one on there

I took delivery and immediately sent it back. They were selling it for 29.99 and raised the price to 79.99 just to make the deal more appealing. That's all you should need to know about how they do business. Luckily Google refunded my purchase without hesitation.
Now, the actual case is incredibly cheap feeling and looking. The stand is dinky and the best part is the back says "Sanmsung Galaxy S III". Yep, incorrectly spelled. There are plenty of these on ebay where you can clearly see the spelling mistake if you want to look for yourself. I found a YouTube review that elaborated on how much of a waste of money it was too. You get the point. Don't buy this product; do yourself that favor at least.
After ordering I did some reading about these types of cases in general. It seems that they waste a ton of the battery capacity in transfer via heat or otherwise. You're much better off getting a bigger battery which results in similar thickness anyway. I went with a 4200 mah qcell (about 20 bucks) and have been getting great results. The hyperion battery is good as well. Both have many endorsements all over this forum.
Personally, I wouldn't buy anything through this retailer ever again. I don't trust their pricing or their products.
EDIT: this is in regards to All 4 Cellular, not trait-tech
I bought 3200mAh Rechargeable External Battery Backup Power Case with PU Leather Cover for Samsung Galaxy S III, only $ 23.90,I think it is a good Galaxy S III External Battery Case.
Hey fellas,
Ive been lucky enough for Anker to send me a 4400mah battery to test and review for you guys. I've used their batteries ever since the Sensation days and I actually have a 2200mah anker for a spare on the S3. They sent me a Pebble Blue back cover as they do not produce the white one yet. I have a two toned S3 hahah. I just wanted to post pics to give you guys an idea. I will be draing the battery today as it came with 57% out of the box. I will give it its first run tomorrow during my work day. Here are the pics, I will be posting 1st run results tomorrow then for the next few days after that. These batteries usually get better after a few cycles. The phone feels good in the hand, not too big. I just ordered one of those TPU extended battery cases to protect the phone while I am using the Extended Anker. Stay tune for some numbers and updates! Thanks!
Im supposed to get one too for reviewing. But you beat me to it

Forgot to add that it does not say NFC anywhere on the battery. I did go into settings and the NFC box still could be checked. I don't know if this battery has it as I do not use NFC. I'll contact Anker to make sure.

No NFC, jonathan confirmed it. Though i made some recommendations to them to have an option for it with a different price point. hopefully they hear me. Price for this one is about $19.99, i think that's pretty good with that price

UPDATE: 8-14 LATER IN THE DAY, SAME SETTINGS! I'm gonna keep WiFi off at home to see if I can kill the battery and post when it runs out.
8-15: Battery made it through the night. I did not turn WiFi at all on this first day of testing. I will do a second test on the second full charge tomorrow. So far I am impressed! 5 hours of screen time! Hawt Damn
Do you know how much thicker this makes the phone ? I am wondering what kind of case would fit this and also if it would still fit in a car holder.
Just double the size of the battery. Look at the pic I posted of the side view. I actually ordered a TPU case for extended batteries, should get here in a couple days. I'll post when I receive it.

Hello. Any updates on this bat? How it's going on so far? Regards.
I have had this battery for few days.
Medium use - online quite a lot, bluetooth always on, brightness on high auto. Same usage on my old S2 with 2100mAh would have critical warning by about 6pm on day 1.

I just checked Ebay for this for my Sprint. S3. They list AT&T and Tmobile but not Sprint. Will either of those fit my Sprint s3? Or should i just contact the seller?
Thanks in advance,

Not quite... the Korean market S3 (SHV-E210) uses a different battery than the international / US version. Also the Korean market Samsung Flip Cover will not fit properly on the international / US version. The curvature or thickness of the units are ever so slightly different, so the back plate will not click securely into place on the international / US handset.
But if you don't include the Korean S3 model, then I believe you'd basically be correct.
It probably doesn't affect most people on this forum, but it's a significant exception to the rule that should be noted.
With heavy brightness.
