Sprint issued a new system update but I haven't seen an improvement yet. Will wait to see the "improved" system update today.

One of the improvements is that they were supposed to fix waking up the phone with the home button. It should no longer pull up the recently opened apps menu. Also they were supposed to have fixed the home screen security bugs.

I lost root when I updated. I had to flash stock recovery before I was able to update too. There are ways to keep root. There are threads somewhere on xda how to do it.

I think it goes without saying that anytime you update you will lose root. I just finally took the MA7 update now the incessant nagging to update has started again
I guess I'll use the toolkit to unroot/stock recovery then update. URGH.
I didn't lose root on update. I didn't even need to use Ota rootkeeper, but I do have supersu pro with survival mode.

It's probably because you always had the Screen Lock on. If you turn the Screen Lock completely off in the system settings(so it doesn't require any swipe to unlock when it wakes) waking the thing with the home button ALMOST always brings up the recent apps. I say almost because in rare circumstances, it didn't(not sure why tho).
home unlock 99% of the time would bring up recent apps for me. Not updating till the rom I use is updated.

Gallery speed.
Don't know about the rest of you, but my gallery was getting to be pretty slow when opening, even more so when another app or the system was opening it like when changing Wallpapers. After the update, it is about a million times faster. Hope it stays that way.

It is in AOSP so I don't think you can change it. Although In the AOSP messaging app once you hit 100 it says something like messaging is sending too many sms do you wish to allow it

There is no way to remove it.
it's because AOKP is a port from another device... most likely the international GSM version.
This warning happens with GSM roms.
at least thats what i understood when i had the Gnex running Jelly Bean... which was a port from the international nexus.

UPDATE: I finally was able to increase the sms limit.
I went into /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db
From there I went ahead and added the record "sms_outgoing_check_max_count" and set the value to "9999"
To be on the safe side I also went into /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Opened the "system" table and added the record "sms_outgoing_check_max_count" and set the value to "9999"
Backed out once and went into the "secure" table and added the same record.
Then I rebooted and tested it out with SmsBomber and no more annoying message.

Yes. On the latest CM builds superuser tends to act funny so download supersu from the market (its free ) and launch it,it'll ask to update binaries, do it and once its done try opening the settings.db again.
Also if you don't have busy box installed install that as well. First install supersu though

FIXED: the og batteries have the nfc function built in, not phone or ROM related.
So it seems NFC does not work when you are rooted. Google Wallet gives a message of "unsupported device" and the link it provides advises NFC is disabled for security reasons when a user roots their device. I would hate to go back to stock just to get this function working (maybe will do so once JB TW comes out), but I did come across this link where it appears a mod was made to enable NFC on rooted devices for the S2 line (most of them, at least). Any chance a talented dev can work on making this happen on our device?

Update 4/9/2013 : Check post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40116168
-------------------------------------
Old update: Just thought I would share this. A new update to google play will be pushed out soon looks like with new features. It will let us remove apps from "My Apps". Much needed feature. Grab the apk from android police
Qbking77's review and how to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCWKTeFIjfg
Source:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...bility-to-remove-apps-from-the-all-apps-list/
What's New
The most notable and immediately apparent new feature is the long overdue ability to remove apps you've previously downloaded from the All Apps list. If you like to try a lot of apps, that list is likely very cluttered. With the new Google Play, you can trim it to your heart's content.
Update #1: You can multi-select by long-pressing any app in the list and then tapping more apps, then delete them all in one go (added 2 new screenshots demonstrating it).
Update #2: The new Play Store now keeps track of your location in lists, including My Apps and All Apps, so when you click into an app and back, it drops you into the same spot. I had variable luck with this, and it didn't seem to work in All Apps at first, but I just reproduced it on both the EVO LTE and the Nexus 7. Brilliant.
Update #3: The notification icon that shows up when you have app updates has changed, and notifications are now expandable. I've added more screenshots showing the differences.
Update #4: The notification icon after installing an app now shows the app icon instead of something generic.
The size of the Play Store APK actually went down, so Google must have trimmed some extra fat. We're still digging through everything - in the meantime, check out the screenshots and grab the new version from our mirrors.

I have many app ideas, but don't have the skill or the time to learn how to make an app. if you would like to know an idea and attempt to make one, just message me.
May 7th? Where'd you come up with that date? Stores here in NJ are getting them today

I can't be bothered putting my whole set of customizations on when I'm going to be wiping data several times. Oh, the life of a ROM dev.

Just a simple home screen. I like to keep it simple and not cluttered with apps.

Hey guys.... I'm running cm10 right now. I am not able to get 4G at all. I flashed goodness worthy and no 4G either. I have PRL 2000. I know it's gotta be modem because I flashed cm10 on my wife's S3 and she has LTE. Any help or ideas? Thank you in advance.

It's not the modem it's cm... read the cm thread and you will see its an issue in the nightlies. Only way to get 4g back its to Odin back to stock and then reroot etc....I believe the last nightly with working lte is 5/28....don't quote me on that just my best guess.
I had to do this and have just stayed with stock TouchWiz rooted till the issue gets figured out.

The weird thing is that my wife has the very same version of cm and she gets LTE. And I went back to TouchWiz and nothing. What I know I did wrong was flash the ma5 modem.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
She is on the s3 though no?...not sure if that version has the same issue. And you can't just go back to TW. you have to Odin back to stock, not just flash a TW Rom.
Trust me, I was in the same boat. Tried everything even flashing a stock Rom....and got nothing. Only thing that fixed the broken lte was an Odin to stock....meaning unroot factory default.

Yes she is on the S3. I think I'm gonna follow your lead because I really like that LTE man , even tough I don't really care for TW. Thanks for the input

No problem man. Just keep following the CM thread, that's what I do. Just patiently waiting to read that a fix is in place....

do you have a link to the stock rooted rom?
When i try to search the page times out
I'm having the same issues as OP, but on liquidsmooth & slimbean
I downloaded it a while ago....it's a flashable zip to bring you to unrooted stock. But I can't seem to find it....I had stumbled across it here on xda, I think I was searching for unroot and that's how I found it

LTE works
web browsing is fast
app updating via the play store is super slow, though.
Had to get on wifi
did a speed test
got 29.78mbps down
& 11.70 mbps up

so, 4g/lte doesn't work well with any roms..or are us 2 just SOL?
Flashed slim bean 5.28 build
Confirmed that LTE does work
Even after 3 reboots.
