App & widget similar to sony notes? - Sony Xperia ZL

Anyone seen an app similiar to sony's notes app. I love the small widget with flicking capability. Problem is it only works with Sony's launcher.
thanks

Well, Google Keep it's good enough, altough it feels too holo for the stock Sony UI

Keep is very good, even because it also synchronize with the chrome version, everything becomes way easier.

[Q] Camera lock screen widget

Hey everyone, I have been here a while but I dont have my ten posts to post in the dev section :/ so I am posting my question here! I am on the Toro+ Gnex running Atom 422 I believe, but my question isnt specific to that ROM. In many ROMs my lock screen music widget would freeze up and stop playing and when I turned the phone on it looked like the music widget was overlaping the camera widget ( lockscreen widgets) and then disapear. I have tried using Apollo, Zplayer, and Play Music. I uninstalled all but one to test individually and I got the same results. I don't have this issue with ROMs that have the option to disable the camera lockscreen widget and I was wondering if this is a known problem with the camera or what. I am using a custom lockscreen shortcut for the camera right now so it is not a big deal I was just curious If anyone else has had this problem. This persists through dirty, clean flashes of new ROMs and kernels except for ROMs that can disable the camera lockscreen widget. thanks for the feedback!
First and foremost the Dev section is reserved for developers who wish to introduce their ROMS and kernels, not for questions such as this. So in a way, thank you for not posting here even though it was your intention to do so
As far as the lock screen...are you using stock launcher or a third party launcher such as apex or nova? Lock screen apps are just that, app that overlay the original lock screen. What I mean is that the culprit is probably your launcher. I use PA 3.94 and have no issues. Admittedly though, my lock screen security is disabled so I can use Locket. Locket has no widgets so that may be a option for you. I do kiss the music widget however, but I just unlock the screen to access the controls and in doing so I get paid for doing so.

Hmm, interesting I didnt think to change the launcher I was on Atom launcher at the time and now I am just using the launcher included in the Atom-422 Rom. After work I will re-install Atom launcher and see if I can replicate the issue. So, the lockscreen widgets are extensions of the launcher? I guess I don't understand how the launcher would cause that issue, something I am going to have to look up I guess ha Yeah I thought about removing the lockscreen but the shortcuts are just too convinient and Dash clock is awesome too. How is Locket working for you? I havent tried it but I imagined it to be laggy just because I associate Ads with lag.
P.S. I wasn't going to start a tread in the dev section, I was just going to post in the ROM thread asking if anyone else had the same issue ;]

I haven't used Atom launcher so I can't say for sure. Since you've used stock and the Atom launcher I guess you can try a third party one such as Apex or Nova and see if the issue persists. Its weird how its happening to you though, I've never heard of such bug. To my understanding, lockscreen and the associated widgets are part of the launcher, hence the reason why not all launchers support widgets. I understand your desire to keep your widgets, they do come in handy but personally I usually don't find myself wishing I had more than the standard clock since I instinctively unlock my phone anyways.
I thought the same as you with regards to Locket, but I must admit that the ads are incredibly lightweight and well designed. Most of the time I don't see them as ads but a dynamic wallpaper add-on since the ads cycle every time you turn on your display. Give it a shot, you can access the notification bar even with Locket installed, which houses playback controls as well. Link is in my siggy

G4 Weather Widget

Hi,
Does anyone know why the G4 weather widget is only available using the default G4 launcher? I REALLY like it, but can't seem to export it :/
Cheers
Darren
It's just part of the LG launcher and relies on the launcher to work. There are many other great weather apps with included widgets that you can choose from though
I really hate how the LG widgets are tied to the launcher. OEM launchers are terrible.
Fortunately, there is a Zooper widget for it.
I've never found an OEM widget that is NOT tied to it's launcher. Having used HTC, Samsung, and LG phones, it's always the case. Once you switch to an alternative launcher, you lose any OEM-specific widgets. Just the way it is unless someone ports them to be used outside of the OEM launcher.

Yep, absolutely correct.
XWidget has one that looks exactly like it. It doesn't change color to match your background though.

Transparent clock & weather has a nice looking weather widget. Very configurable, and worth a look imo.
how about forget the widget and just swipe up...or over to google now?
I would love a launcher where google now was the first page, the home page. So whenever I turned on my phone, it was right there front and center.

Do you think exporting it would work on the G3/G2?

You didn't read my post carefully. With Google Now Launcher, you have to scroll to the right to get the left-most screen which is google now. I would like one where the HOME PAGE, the page that appears when you first turn on the phone to be Google Now, no scrolling necessary. So that Google Now is front and foremost and you'd have to scroll to get the other pages. If Google Now Launcher would allow you to make Google Now the default page, then it would be good (along with being able to resize icons--they're too big, and change the overall layout grid).
Those who want G4 weather widget with Smart notice, just search XDA, there is a guide available to make the two work on any lanucher.

Using V10 Second Screen App Shortcut for Quick Popup Widgets

Using the app called Popup Widget, I'm able to quickly place any kinds of widget directly on the second screen, since we can easily move back and forth app shortcuts from the second screen and home screen, but that mainly applies to the stock launcher only, tried with Nova, but didn't work. Anyways, here's a video showing an example of creating widget and placing it into second screen and works fine.
https://youtu.be/mX-diQEANw8
The app is called Popup Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.
Credits @klark1kent for the idea of implementing custom widgets on the second screen using Zooper and Tasker apps. If you want, you can head over to his thread in the link below for an in-depth guide using Zooper Widgets
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/themes-apps/screen-custom-app-icons-widget-t3269726
Update: So, I've created a new video that actually allows you to add more icons/shortcuts to the second screen. So take a look over at the link below.
https://youtu.be/nuo0IAhwUR0
The app is called SiMi Folder Widget, and can be found on the Play Store.
You've been busy. How did you ever come up with this? Nice video though
Shame it doesn't work with Nova.

Usually what I'd do since you can easily toggle between different launchers via settings, just switch to the stock launcher, place it in then change back.

The idea was actually from your thread, so got to thank you for that idea that you actually came up, and I was looking around for other alternatives instead of using Zooper and Tasker, and Popup Widget sort of solves the issue for me. And also having to place any kind of widgets on your second screen really helps in situations where you wouldn't want to get kicked out of other apps, let's say if you are messaging and you want to quickly see some new tweets to freshen up.

That's exactly what I said in thr original thread. I used popup widget also but hey I'm happy you liked the idea and clearly I didn't create a guide initially because I wanted to get it out to the community as soon as possible anyway I agree the options are endless... The only thing about just using popup which I alluded to in the other post is that it wasn't working with other launchers and zooper allows you to create your own widgets and add them to popup instead of relying on system default widgets. Let's keep the innovations coming though but yeah I was surprised you essentially jacked the idea with zero credit. Thanks for making it right

Oh damn, I guess I didn't read it clearly! Really sorry about that... I guess I did miss the part about Popup Widget and was sort of lost in the guide of yours so I was looking around for alternatives. My bad if I really missed out on my part but I hope you enjoyed the mini guide that I created, and shall give proper credits for you
Best app for v10 so far
Bumping for suggestions
Is Popup Widget the same as Popup Widget 2? Because I couldn't find any Popup Widget without a 2 next to it.

Is there a way to make popup widgets using the stock apps like favorite contacts and LG Health?
I haven't tried, but would think you could make a widget from Zooper, then use Popup widgets utilizing your custom zooper widget

As those are LG-based Widgets, which is lockdown only to stock launcher, Popup Widget can't recognize it as a proper widget, only universal ones work.
Hence sadly it's not possible to actually get those into the second screen.

[SHARE][NO ROOT]Latest Xperia Apps

Hello!
So, here you go: [CM/AOSP][NO ROOT]] Latest Xperia App for non stock ROM
There says about CM/AOSP, however, I've installed Launcher, Music and Weather without any problems on stock Crapwiz 5.1.1 and are running flawless. The other apks should work as well.
I didn't try on CM/AOSP rom, but should work since are meant for that.
There aren't any screenshots, but there's a post with a YouTube video showing the apps: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71689269&postcount=1051 .
PS: Xperia launcher is so smooth and it's ram usage is similar as TW one. It has some customization options too, like icons support, double tap anywhere on empty space on homescreen to turn screen off.
Launcher is awesome!
Too bad there is no option to set app launch animation, you can't get system animation.

Thank you very much! After my Xperia has broken, I own a Samsung. Since then, I miss this apps.

Question Recent app not working with 3rd party launcher.

I have tried various lauchers and all of them seem to have this same issue. When on home sceen I can't access recent apps with any 3rd party laucher. Is this a issue with my particular device? I am pretty sure it is no bug from the launcher as i have tried various launchers all of them have this same issue. Is there a fix for this as I don't like samsungs stock launcher.
Edit: The recent app window is working but has a delay of like 2seco ds
Anyone with the fix for this?
One UI is the best launcher to use on a Samsung.
What are the problems you have with it?

There is no problem with the launcher. I am used to vertical scrolling and stock like feel as i had a 6t. I want a similar experience here. One UI might be the best but point is I can't change is due to this recent app bug.

I use Nova and Recent apps works. One thing I did notice was, if I debloat (i.e. disable) OneUI Home then recent apps dont work on Nova launcher.

For me, the recent apps are working and I'm on the stock OS One UI!
Nova launcher works for recent apps. But the gesture is not as fluid as it would be with the stock launcher. Try using good lock app and customize with one handed operation.
What do you mean by 'customize with one handed operation'? What does that have to do with the gesture?

Recent apps are working but there is a delay in opening the window on all 3rd party lauchers!
