So I'm trying to find a music app that'll display track info via BT to my car stereo. My stereo is Sony mex bt3100p. I'm currently using power amp
Music and everything plays fine through BT but can't figure out how to display the track info when using poweramp. Any suggestions for music apps that do? I'm running task's aokp with ktoonsez's kernel.
Have the same issue. Worked in a build prior to the new kernel (about a month a go I think). Hoping it gets fixed in one of the nightly's.
I recall having the same issue with my skyrocket after an AOKP update and it was a power amp update that ended up fixing it.

I posted the same question on reddit. The only response I received was that it was a bug due to the change in BT stacks in android 4.2

Play music works as does amazo. Mpc sometimes. Poweramp doesnnt work well. I'm in the minority of people who loathe it.

play music didn't work for me.
It has nothing to do with the player guys. It's called avcrp and task's rom doesn't have it nor does any 4.2.2 roms that I know of. Avcrp on aosp stopped at 4.1.2. If you want your radio to display the song names use a tw rom. They all support avcrp or revert to aosp 4.1.2.

I'm on devil's reject. It's a tw 4.1.1 and it displays my song just fine with play music, power amp and sammy's default music player.

The stock TW rom comes with Avcrp. So every tw rom should have it unless the dev took it out for whatever reason.

I've looked around for a DSP Manager for TouchWiz roms but i have not found anything. Does such a thing exist or must I change to an AOSP or CM room?

I tried that for a while too. There is a version of awesome beat that works but only with other music player; not the stock Samsung one. And even then, it's buggy. Sometime applying setting for Bluetooth audio to headphone, etc. I eventually have up and just use the default dsp built in; which again, can only be accessed by other music player

You're not looking hard enough.. I'm using it right now, the only problem is that it doesn't work with any music player in touchwiz except for poweramp and it works great!! but you have to disable direct volume control in audio settings and also disable the eq in poweramp, and everything that is enabled there for best results

Intenli hegaveh
Damn! Alright then, thanks for the suggestion
Sure no problem, it does work with everything else though like browser, Pandora, YouTube, pretty much anything that doesn't read music from your SD

NICE!! Thats AWESOME!
On every TW rom now that I've noticed Google play music doesn't seem to have gapless playback anymore. I thought it was a kernel issue but it wasn't the case. Any aosp rom like cm seems to have it. Why not tw all of a sudden??

Bump
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I wanted to bump this after updating my Play Music to today's latest version, featuring All Access. OP says that they've gotten gapless playback out of Play Music on AOSP ROMs, but not TW. I haven't gotten it to work on any kind of ROM, and it's really frustrating. I want to leave Spotify for All Access, but Spotify's gapless streaming is a huge draw for me, and I'm just not understanding why I'm not experiencing the same thing when it's advertised as a feature of Play Music.
edit: wanted to clarify that I don't have gapless playback with local files, either.
Same boat here. I'm about ready to switch from Spotify to All Access, but lack of gapless playback is a big mark against Google Play.
Sent from my STOCKORAMA-Powered SGH-T999 via Tapatalk 2
It really sucks because I had Gapless playback in the beginning of January, then ever since mid January I lost that feature and never gained it back. Idk if it's a line of code that all gs3 devs are using to tweak their rom that's causing the feature to disappear, or if it's a Google error. My cousins gs4 has it and he's on stock non rooted TW. You don't know how frustrated I was when I heard one of my favorite live albums back to back on his phone when I can't on mine.

hello i noticed on any 4.3 rom that google play doesnt work with any equalizer properly . the dsp manager doesnt work with at all..any equalizer that does work with it will make the music distorted and make popping noises..but on 4.2.2 it doesnt do that it works and the music plays clearly is this a bug in 4.3.
Most likely. As I understand it most of the 4.3 roms should really be considered beta or maybe even alpha. Haven't used one myself but there seem to be lots of bugs and random issues. Best advice, go back to 4.1.2, or 4.2.2 based roms for now.

Since I usually run twiz I haven't found a video player that works as well on cm base as the stock video player on twiz especially while using an mhl adapter. Cm video player from gallery won't play a lot of movies and downloaded ones from play store are either pixelated and choppy or just totally off. Any recommendations. I love the new rom by mr impossible but since I took cable out my room and I got a mhl cord I watch a lot of movies through my phone so this is a must

Try MX Player. So far it can handle any type of video I throw at it
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.

I tried that thanks. That's one that digitally pixalates like crazy. Weird how they work fine on twiz and stock video player but on aokp or cm they just suck

Im looking for a good premium music player, because all I ever use is Apollo and I want to branch out. BUt other than PowerAmp, WinAmp and Double Twist I can't find any decent ones they all seem to be streaming services???
Anyone know of any hidden recommendations for music players that are good and polished??
If you are on sammy 4.3 rom, then nothing is best than the stock music player.
If on other, you can try jet audio.
Regards.

Yea I am running 4.3. Didn't realize the sammy stock player got a bit of an update, ill give it another shot. And thanks for the recommendation!
If you are rooted I'd install viper sound mod. It isn't a music player but has tonnes of audio options and really will make your music rock

I personally find PlayerPro the best... have tried just about all out there... but it's also a matter of taste and preference. Everyone is different. Can give it a try, though others recommended already are also good options.
I've been using player pro for years. Also use it in conjunction with viper. I try other players from time to time and keep coming back to player pro. Best thing about it? You have an issue, contact the dev. When I had an atrix I had a few issues with the software. Over a number of weeks I tested various fixes he sent me and he got it sorted. Very friendly guy.

Samsung Stock Music Player all the way! Use the viper sound mod if you want a boost in sound (or want to act like a sound techie!). If you want diversity, try ZPlayer (Windows Mobile styled music player), or Play Music (the best, gives a stock Android feeling)! Winamp is also very good!
