So I wanted to go about rooting my One X+ and installing a custom ROM: MIUI
I got to the part where i had TWRP Recovery installed and the new ROM on the internal storage.
It turns out the custom ROM was corrupt (couldn't open zip file) tried this a couple of times, went to try with another ROM for MIUI without success (couldn't open zip file) and now I can't boot into normal Android or install a custom ROM.
And I can't access internal storage from my pc via USB either and I can't use adb from command line. But I can access the bootloader and recovery.
What can I do?
Sorry you are struggling but this is the one X forum I'm sure the one x+ has its own section?

Okay, so I'm a semi-noob. I used to have plenty on android phones but switched to the iPhone a year back. I'm back now!
So I rooted the phone on my Mac. All is well in that regard for the most part, but I can't seem to install a custom rom or use clockwork because there isn't a backup available. When I tried to install the customs rom(Modaco vanilla) it just gets stuck on the HTC white screen.
Can anyone help?

There is no cdma custom rom available yet at the moment. All custom roms in dev section are for gsm one v.
That would explain it. Thanks. Hopefully soon!

one other thing... it I turn my phone back on it gets stuck on the white HTC logo. I have to plug it into to my computer and reflash the superboot image and then it'll reboot and turn on. Any idea why???
When you installed the MoDaCo's ROM, did you fastboot flash it's boot.img ? When you revert to your stock ROM, did you flash the boot.img for the stock ROM ?
The superboot img works to root the device only. Once you reboot, the system will read your last boot.img that you fastboot flash. If the your last fastboot boot.img is not the right one for your device, you will have this problem.
The superboot image was the last one I flashed. I guess this is where I'm lost. What is the recovery image I'm supposed to boot next? Is that the sprint/virgin CDMA recovery posted on the same page in the general section?
And what do I need to type in to terminal to do this.
Thanks for your help with all this. I appreciate it.

Based on something I've read online, I could move the img(if its the one i downloaded) from my SD card to /system/recovery.img is this correct?

I'm not familiar with MAC.
But let me explain this:
fastboot boot boot.img (or boot.superboot.img for this case) -
The boot.img is not permanently installed in the device. You will lose it after reboot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img -
The boot.img is permanently installed in the device.
As the boot.superboot.img is for rooting purpose only, it is not advisable to flash that as a permanent boot.img
What you need now is to flash the stock boot.img. Download from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28218226&postcount=11
Then use this command : fastboot flash boot boot.img
And here is the recovery.img for your device : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749798
Thanks a million! just flashed that boot.img and the phone is booting right up now. Next on my list is the recovery img, but i have to sleep.
Thanks again. You were a huge help.
Hey guys,
you might think I'm stupid and I won't blame you for thinking that but here's my problem:
I always try new custom ROMs after 2 days. I wanted to try a new one, put the ROM on the storage and all that.
Recovery mode, delete the ROM I had installed and installed the new one with fastboot flash and all that.
Did it a million times and it always worked. Now it won't boot up anymore.
Is there any way to put another custom ROM on the storage whilst being in Recovery?
Thanks for the feedback.
Mount sdcard while in recovery...copy rom then flash

MY One X won't boot up anymore so there's no way for me to normally copy the ROM onto my SD.
Isn't there a way to copy the ROM onto the SD in Recovery?
Hold the power button and the volume down button together .... Keep them pressed until you are in the bootloader, don't let go of the buttons before.
From there you can go to the recovery !

What recovery are you using? If you are using CWM then there is an option in under mounts to mount usb storage. From there you can copy files to and from your sdcard.
Here is a nice little write-up by Hasoon2000 regarding recovering:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
If you can get into recovery and you're using TWRP(Not sure if CWM has the option), you can try to ADB Sideload from his tool.
I have rooted my phone and installed CWM . I wanted to install a new ROM and i installed Android Revolution HD and when i was trying to flash the boot.img file it say it isnt an external or internal command. I tried going to CWM recovery which i had earlier, it is not getting opened. Iam stuck here... PLEASE HELP!!!!!
P.S even factory resent doesnt help. Maybe i havent turned USB debugging on.
You need to flash the boot.img to make it boot. If your getting comand not recognised then your typing command in wrong dir or not got fastboot on pc.

I've been using viperX for about 9 months now, and today i wanted to upgrade to CM 10. so I downloaded the ROM and used ROM Manager (instead of bootloader) and it after CM was installed, it wouldn't boot. the flash screen was the only thing i saw for about 30 minutes.
then i googled for this situation and found out that most times the solution was to install CM via bootloader, so i tried to do so, and again the same thing happened.
next i thought i should update my bootloader. i was using CWM 2.x, i think it was 2.6.. can't really remember (it wasn't updated since around December 2012 when i switched to viperX). anyway, i tried to install TWRP, downloaded the latest version from their site and used the sdk tools that i already had on my computer (i updated it about a month ago) just as the instructions said. i got no error in the cmd, nor on the phone screen. i tried to get into recovery and got stuck on HTC logo.i tried also downloading the latest version of CWM and the result was the same.
now when I'm trying to boot into CM i get stuck on their logo, and when i try to boot into recovery i get stuck on HTC logo..i couldn't do factory reset either.
my phone is HTC one x (bought in Singapore)
HBOOT version is 1.36.0
any ideas where to go from here?
thanks in advance
You're in the wrong forum, this is the HTC One XL/at&t One X forum. I'll ask for this to be moved to the correct device forum for you.

Hi,
I assume your bootloader is unlocked, I had same problem when I originally tried to flash custom rom (soft bricked phone).
Start from scratch and place fastboot folder in root directory of an easily accesible drive (c and place CWM zip file, Version 5.8.4.0 (for one x) in that folder and use CMD prompt to flash CWM again, then boot into CWM recovery and mount phone as USB storage and hopefully you have backed up original software as Nandroid backup (copy to pc so you have a backup copy). From there you can place CM 10 zip file in root directory of phone and install from CWM after doing full wipe, and wipe cache (all through CWM). Youtube has some good videos (Cursed4Eva in particular) on flashing roms. You may also have to flash boot image or you may get stuck in bootloop.
Hope this helps.

did you flash the boot.img of the rom?
Are you sure that you have the one X and not xl?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
First of all, make sure that the bootloader is unlocked,
then flash philz or twrp 2.6.3.0 or cwm 5.8 touch recovery or 6.0.3.2 non touch recovery.
Now mount usb storage from the recovery and copy the stock rom nandroid backup or any custom rom that u wanna install, to the internal storage.
Now, Unmount usb storage and restore the backup/install the custom rom.

It's some serious problem, try flashing the RUU, get it from here
Flash that, if runs then fine, otherwise you gonna have to visit htc care.
