Have you tried repairing your phone in PC vompanion?

pc companion cant repair it as it needs me to go to notification via phone which is impossible since it just bootloops from sony to xepria logo.

Getting your Phone back to a factory state DOES NOT require you to be rooted or have an unlocked bootloader, the thing that's lacking here is reading, and persistence. You need to figure out getting PC Companion, SEUS, or the Flashtool (Official and un-Official) to work, so as you know what to do, it's over to you to do it, and if it's not working then you're obviously doing something wrong.
i personally prefer flashtool. simple to use and doesnt require root or unlocked bootloader if you're flashing stock ftf.

Download Sony Mobile Update Service, follow the instructions to repair your phone's firmware.

I rooted my play, got the CWM installer, did a backup, did a factory reset, then flashed JJ's Hybrid ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573547).
Then I rebooted, but it won't boot. It's just stuck at the "Sony Ericsson" splash screen. I've tried going into recovery, won't work. Also taken the battery out and tried again, but that didn't work either.
I read in another thread that you can't flash with less than 50% charge? Mine may have been at around 48% at the time...
Does anyone know where I went wrong, and more importantly how to get my phone working again?
Is your bootloader unlocked? Because the rom only works with unlocked bootloader

I did not unlock the bootloader...
Know how to fix this?
I think, you have to flash a stock ftf with flashtool

I'm downloading both now, thanks for your help
I think I'll be ok from here, but stick around if I need any more help!

Hmmm... I tried to flash it but it said I needed to install the drivers. I installed the drivers, but it still says "ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device"
Any idea?
I think I have the same problem. My device is not recognized at all, how am I supposed to use flashtool?
Do you have pc companion and update service installed too? I had the same error with earlier flashtools and installing those two programs seemed to make it work nicely

You could try the Sony Ericsson update service tool: http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com/
Sorry for the lame link, couldn't find an "official" one, but can confirm the above works. I flashed mine yesterday back to stock with it.

i would like to get rid of android 4.0 and go back to 2.3.
So i should go to my local sonycenter to downgrade.
The only problem... my phone is rooted.
Is there any risk of doing this?!
Yes!

No, not really. Having a rooted phone is fine. They won't make an issue out of it. Is your bootloader unlocked though?
You have the option of downgrading it yourself with the help of Flashtool and the correct firmware

maybe it's just in israel, but i know that if the carrier finds out that you have a root you loose your warranty.
phone is bootloader unlocked, but why do you need warranty to downgrade?
don't think they will ask money for it
And i don't wanna downgrade by myself, im way to scared of bricking my phone.
if u go to sony centre with unlocked bootloader, they will think u messed up something and they might not agree to do the work for free...
Just download your .ftf file for GB and flash it with flashtool.
It is really easy and free.
A couple of weeks ago I unlocked the bootloader of my Xperia S, rooted it and installed CM 10. Sins then a I have NO problems at all and i am enjoying the mod every day. But I was wondering, if I wish to get back to the stock ROM again (today the stock ROM is android ICS), how am i supposed to do that without worrying that I would brick my phone? :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance
Moved for better assistance, Thank you.
Relock your bootloader then fix your phone via Sony Update Service or PC Companion.
How can I relock my Bootloader? Can you give me a link?

thnx mate I really appreciate it:good:
(Don't worry I already clicked on the 'thanks' button )
Just flash your stock rom and re-root your phone, there is no way to brick your phone (there is just one way: unplug the cable while your are flashing a firmware )

Hey Everyone
I'm new to the android world here.. and I've been attempting to get root access with my lt15a
however I am having several issues having rooting apps work
I've tried zroot, framaroot, flashtool, & Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31
all apps seen to run, but not root the device
my bootloader is unlock, I've set usb debugging, allow installation of non-market apps, mass storage mode (msc)
the phone is running android 4.0.4 kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf build # 4.1.B.0.587
******
on a side note.. I did successfully root my phone before updating to 4.0.4 without knowing it would lock my bootloader and lose my root
I have since paid to unlock the bootloader, however can not root the device again
can any guide me in the right direction..
thanks
-steve

Check the Xperia Tipo section of xda-developers, I am sure there is at least once custom kernel.
...
I've tried the -rooted, kingo android root, and still no success
I've also tried flashtool root and it fails
I noticed during using flashtool.. it says bootloader can not be officially unlocked.,. not sure if that means anything
when I checked the phone is service screen.. it says bootloader unlocked...
all rooting apps if tried .. get to a certain screen.. and seem to sit there and then show rooting failed...
can anyone provide the exact link to the ics kernel..
or what I can try ...
I still don't understand what is causing my issue here
-steve
