[Q] Sony Xperia S unrooting!!!! (back to stock ROM) - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

A couple of weeks ago I unlocked the bootloader of my Xperia S, rooted it and installed CM 10. Sins then a I have NO problems at all and i am enjoying the mod every day. But I was wondering, if I wish to get back to the stock ROM again (today the stock ROM is android ICS), how am i supposed to do that without worrying that I would brick my phone? :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance

Moved for better assistance, Thank you.

Relock your bootloader then fix your phone via Sony Update Service or PC Companion.

How can I relock my Bootloader? Can you give me a link?

thnx mate I really appreciate it:good:
(Don't worry I already clicked on the 'thanks' button )

Just flash your stock rom and re-root your phone, there is no way to brick your phone (there is just one way: unplug the cable while your are flashing a firmware )

Or just relock the bootloader and flash a stock ftf file.

I bought an xperia arc s two days ago..and I want to unlock bootloader/root/install CWM and costume roms..but some friends advised me not to do so and keep on stock status..because thsey claim that I may not be able to update the phone to the supposedly so near almost on the door ICS of android..is it true?and if I did the unlcok bootloader and rooted..won't I be able to revert back to stock and update to the ICS when it comes?what do u think guys..?thx in advance
If u unlock bootloader, u cant update through pc companion. However, u can always relock back the bootloader, allowing you to update using pc companion.
However, in my opinion, having an unlocked bootloader doesnt bring any downside (except losing drm) coz u can still flash ICS using flashtool or flash it as .zip coz the devs at our forum will surely modify it or something...
However,its all up to you

I think it doesnt matter which rom r u on to relock it as long as ur on stock rom. But I recommend using fw .42 to relock cause that was the firmware I usually use to relock.
Im right now using xperia s beta rom 5, doomkernel v19...

I think you can relock any baseband if you unlock the bootloader with the official se method. If you unlock it with a testpoint methode you cant relock it.

I tried to OTA update my unlocked Acro S to 6.1.A.2.50

without knowing my phone's bootloader was unlocked by the shop in the 1st place!!!
it's currently 6.1.A.2.45 Root Status: Unlocked Bootloader = Yes...
after downloading the update, the phone shut down automatically while installing the update, and a brief recovery screen appear on the restart, the phone would still start normally but there's a notification telling me the update could not be installed
I repeated this a few times then only I realize my phone was unlocked and OTA shouldn't be done on an unlocked phone :crying:
had it done any damage? I can't tell....
please help, thank you guys very much in advance........

If u have an unlocked bootloader on ur device, u will experience FOTA brick while you try update OTA, I heard PCC stops working as well but SUS works for some. But you always have access to flashtool for flashing new fw.

Getting your Phone back to a factory state DOES NOT require you to be rooted or have an unlocked bootloader, the thing that's lacking here is reading, and persistence. You need to figure out getting PC Companion, SEUS, or the Flashtool (Official and un-Official) to work, so as you know what to do, it's over to you to do it, and if it's not working then you're obviously doing something wrong.
i personally prefer flashtool. simple to use and doesnt require root or unlocked bootloader if you're flashing stock ftf.

Can't unlock boot loader or flash stock

Hi there,
Has anyone got a way out of this.....
I have a rooted C1905 that I have been playing around with. I want to try CM11 but boot loader unlock fails with a "FAILED (unknown status code)" report after I send my unlock code. I then thought I'd flash back to stock using S.U.S. but that fails too saying that I have a customized rom... which I don't!!! I seem to be stuck! is there anyway to force a stock flash?
Cheers
Have you checked if your bootloader can be unlocked? Go to the dialer, type *#*#7378423#*#* then go to Service info => Configuration. In rooting status, it should say "Bootloader unlock allowed: yes", otherwise it won't work. About your flashing problem, try connecting the phone directly in flash mode before opening SUS, by turning off your phone, holding Volume Down and plugging USB cable or by flashing a FTF file through Flash Tool...
It happened to me also ,check your IMEI CODE,you need to send first 14 digits of your IMEI,

Thanks guys... I've managed to Flash back to stock with flashtool and I'll try the unlock the boot again. (boot unlock = Yes).

Flashed an FTF of the latest but still can't unlock the bootloader. still get "unknown Error" and it wipes my apps.
Also can't use "repair my phone" on PCC as it says I have a Customised Rom, could this be due to me trying tools like flashgordon and debloat/deoxing flashing or routing? if so how can I get back to a stock state for a UK XM so I can start again?

Nope, but try this anyway.
1. Disconnect your phone and turn it off but keep the cable attached
2. Open PCC and go to Update
3. When it says no device found click the blue repair link
4. Choose Xperia M when asked to
5. Follow the instructions
I have a locked bootloader and modified ROM and it works flawlessly. Keep us updated

and this is what I get after it's downloaded the firmware and tries to flash it...
