Is there a way that I can WiFi tether without needing AT&T consent?

Do you have an AT&T model (Evita, dual core phone) ? If so then you are in the wrong forum. The evita HTC one XL has its own forum section !

Hi All,
helping a work college getting his One X working with Foxtel on the telstra network.
i have a HTC one XL purchased thru Telstra it worked fine with foxtel app and foxtel thru m.bigpond.com until i install cleanrom. i would that changing some values in build.prop to reflect telstra and htc one xl it worked again.
can anyone on telstra with htc one x confirm if they have been able to get foxtel to work and what method they used.
Telstra + one x = XL.
Wrong forum mate.

Did he say his friend had a One XL?
Telstra only seems to sell the Brown-Black One XL, the 4G variant of the One X. Go to the XL forum.
Hi, I have an international One X on telstra and tried the Foxtel app, it won't load, but when connected to my WiFi at home it worked fine.

And he's asking for Telstra users opinions and this would be the XL Forum.

No he did not ask for one xl users.
He specifically asked for one x users on the Telstra network so he's on the right place and as a One x user on the Telstra network I have to say: sorry, no idea, don't use foxtel on my phone
I tried it again at a different location on Telstra network and it's working fine.

Sorry. I thought Telstra only had XL.
Glad you got it sorted.

No worries...
To be honest, I think Telstra does only sell the One XL but some of use have bought the One X outright and are using it on their network.
Anybody have any experience with this? Like any issues with getting 3g/4g data mms etc?

If you have an unlocked at&t One X(L) you should better ask there, as we can only speculate here
But straight Talk uses at&t's network (right?) so it should work.

I don't have one, I am thinking of buying one but want to make sure before I sell my verizon 4s and buy a one x that it will work with straight talk.
So you're getting one from at&t?
Then head over to the at&t and Rogers One X forums, because we have the international One X here.
If you get the international One X and sraight talk uses at&t's network it should work, because some users here use at&t and zedomax got a video of his One X running fine with at&t.

I was looking at the coverage map and it looks terrible for android users. is it really that spotty?
I am sorry about the noob question, but I was wondering if the International One X would work with my AT&T SIM card?
Thank you,

Yes with no limitations other then that the international one had no lte but besides that it will work ok just fine on att. Not sure about t mobile USA.

I know that there has been many questions about this and a lot of incorrect information. If you have this device and are using AT&T can you please post the working 3G/HSDPA+ APN settings that you are using and the results? Thanks In Advance. :fingers-crossed:
You have to write here.
This is the forum for one x international (tegra), and not fo one xl (qualcomm)
He may have bought the tegra 3 version online and is using it on att like I am though the att section may have the APN settings in a thread somewhere.
Here are screenies of my APN.

I was following a guide on how to upgrade my HBoot and it said I need to download the correct firmware for my phone, and for that i need to look at me cid. My cid is currently 11111111 and there for im not sure what firmware I need to download. How can i know what my original cid was or if someone could help me update my cid. My phone is a HTC One x AT&T.
Wrong forum. Your device is actually the HTC One XL. The XL is the dual core LTE version.
