On my unit the search in the wallman app doesn't work. Is that a general bug or spmething wrong on my device?
Rescan SD didn't help.
Just found out that the search works for internal memory, but my music is on the external sd. The search doesn't bring any result for extarnal sd.
So does anyone have an idea how to mount external sd as a sub-folder on the internal sd?
Maybe there's a script? I want to understand what I do...

1) Not quite. Not yet. However, it may be possible to make the system treat the external SD card as internal memory. See the thread [MOD][ICS/JB/CM10]ExtSd2InternalSd v3.1|Increase your data storage|100% Working| and decide if you want to try that solution.
2) Don't know about CM. Not yet (that I know of) with stock fw.
3) Place a file named ".nomedia" in the directories you want to exclude.

Just been looking at this too. Thought I could get clever with Android being basically Linux and move amazonmp3 to the external SD then do a symlink. But of course, durrrr, the SD card is in FAT32 format, which doesn't support symlinks.
amazonmp3 does recognise music on the external SD card, so I suppose you could move all the existing music across and then use some kind of automation (probably llama?) to do an overnight move of any newly downloaded music from virtual to external.
Bit of a kludge though. We could do with a cloud service that'll let you specify where the cache should go.

Not so much the cache, as I'd like purchased music downloads to go on the sd card so PowerAMP can read them.
I've just been moving the folder manually every few months.
Goal: store Google Play Music All Access downloads on external SD card. There's a thread for it here, but the problem is that GPM wants to store its files in /sdcard/Android/data/com...music rather than /data/data/com...music, and /sdcard does not seem to allow symlinks. I had the identical problem on my Nook HD+ tablet and after giving up on symlinking, I tried out a SD swap hack which mostly just broke apps. However, it broke GPM in a good way; the app started storing files under /data/data/ and I was able to undo the SD swap and create a symlink.
So, can I do anything similar on the Ion to disrupt the internal SD so I can clear data on GPM and have it rebuild its directories under /data/data? Is there a simpler solution? Would editing vold.fstab work? I was under the impression it was more complicated than that in jellybean.
My External SD card at two locations. /mnt/media_rw/sdcard1 and also at /storage/sdcard1 .
Now all my apps read external SD files twice. [ex: Every song in my external SD is shown twice in my music app Apollo]
Please help me finding a way to fix this.
you can format your phone and install any rom you like i think your problem will be solved by this
i was just wondering is it possible to edit a app ?:
so that rather installing the videos and documents and audio to internal storage to , install to the /extsdcard instead
also look into the sdcard for said files instead of internal storage
Let's see here... I use xposed Downloads to SD, and many apps find what I put on SD. Some apps need to be moved to SD to find the data. fortunately, Android 4.x allows most apps to be moved to SD, so no special apps are needed.
So far all my media apps including Studio, Gallery, Hi-speed camera, Stock video player, and MX Player do just fine finding media both on SD and internal.
If you want defaults to SD storage, you will have to edit the config file associated with the app, if the app does not have a feature to change storage location. Not all apps have a config file nor use the ssystem.db database.
i have one app that can be moved to sd but still downloads its documents/videos/audio to internal storage ,, it doesnt matter if the app is on sd card or internal it always looks for the folders in internal storage even if i move the folders manualy
hmm sorry didnt read properly trying it out now
Gooberdude i salute you thanks for that , by using downloads2sd, i set the two main folders up for music and movies onto sd card, re-install the app and redownload from app, this binded the file on sd card to the app
exactly what i was looking for
thanx again
Your welcome!
