Mounting SD card or internal storage to computer????

How do I know which one I am viewing when I mount my phone to my computer? Reason I ask is because there are some things I save in an app which usually save to my sd card, but I do not see this folder when I mount my phone to the computer. I always see this folder when I mount my other phone though.
well on mine, the SD is actually called SD Card, but if your SD storage is different than the phone, you can always right click and properties/info to see the storage and from there you can tell which one is which.

SD Card as EXT?

Ok, so I've searched around and haven't really found an answer to my question, sorry if it's been answered before.
I'd like to format my ENTIRE SD card as an EXT3/4 filesystem, and was wondering if it would register as a normal SD card under Android, or will it be used a "system partition"? Would i be able to transfer files freely using a file explorer and would apps using the SD card (not apps on the SD card) for data run properly. I'd like to have a different file system used as FAT32 is a little ancient, and EXT is much better. I'm running Ubuntu as one of my OS, so mounting it on my PC wouldn't be a problem.
Thanks.

It would still be seen as an external SD card whatever file system you format it as.
Thanks. Although, i was reading through that thread and it says that the SD card will be reformated to VFAT on reboot. Is this true for the DHD too?
Possibly. I wouldnt know to be honest. Might aswell wait until somebody who knows about this can answer.

Help switching mount to Ex Card!!!

Does anybody know of a app, script, or mod that actually works for switching the internal sd mount for the external sd? I have tried four or five apps, two or three scripts and a couple mods with no success. I just bought a 32b gb card basically it is useless if I can't switch the storage. Thanks for any input.
Moderator please close thread I figured out the solution myself. Thanks In case anybody doesn't know this the easiest way to switch your internal storage to external is change the vold.fstab file in system/etc. First find dev_mount sdcard /storage/ sdcard0 28 and change it to sdcard1 28. Then change dev_mount external_sd /storage/sdcard1 to sdcard0 and reboot. Now your external sd is the internal sd =alot more space

[Q]NTFS SD Card Mount on NOTE II

Hello everyone, I know this thread is already present and I also red the info regarding with it, but it seems my problem is something I can't solve with the help of those previous instructions. I have an I idea how to solve it but I'm hesitant to do it because I don't know if it works, and I kinda scared to do it because I don't want to buy again another SD Card if ever the present one will break.
Problem: I have a torrent app in my Note II and I liked to use it always because it downloads fast, but the problem is that whenever I want to download files that is more than 4GB in size, I always receive an error that the file I want to download is to big for the file system; (file system limit exceeded), and I learned that this error occurs when my storage system is FAT/FAT32, then I read a thread in this forum that this will be solved by converting my SD Card's file system to NTFS and use Paragon NTFS Mount app so that my NTFS Card will be accepted by my phone, alas I did as what was instructed, converted my SD Card to NTFS, mount my card to storage/sdCard/extcard <---Created another path as it was said that using the default path would make it not work. But when I re-started to download files it fails to me again, the same problem encountered (file system limit exceeded). I even converted my SD card to exFat because I heard that this can handle large files, more than 4GB but also to no avail.
Solution(not tested yet): I am planning to make 2 partitions in my SD card, one partition would be fat32 and the other would be NTFS, and use also paragon app, so that when I insert my card to my phone, the phone will mount the FAT system to the fat32 partition and leave the NTFS partition alone and not be used.
Does this method of mine will work? Are there any ideas aside from what I had in mind that will also help me solve my little problem. I know that this problem of mine is not that big, and I can just refer it to other threads and the google but I want to know from the pro's and OP's here if my method is possible.
Thank you!
Kudos to all!:good:

You need to define a mount point like sdcard0 is internal sd sdcard1 is external sd fat32 partition sdcard2 as the ntfs partition which is really hard to do on a samsung based rom (even windows doesnt recognize the second partition on sd cards ) you can format the sd to ext3 or ext4 it's the best possible solution

I see, too bad, but thanks any way. Does the procedure in formatting my sd card to ext3 or ext4 is the same as when I format my card to fat32 other system, or would you use a program to do it.
Why are you using Fat32 or NTFS just format the SD card to ExFAT. No size limit and compatible with Note2 & Windows
I think the problem you are having is due to the torrent app you are using, it might be trying to use the internal phone memory as a temporary location for the file you are downloading. Try changing your torrent app
(I had this problem with the official utorrent app)

[Q] Internal Storage unavailable for apps, external SD won't mount.

Hello,
Since I have formatted Internal Storage on my Acro S all apps are asking me to insert an SD card.
/mnt/sdcard directory is in place and it redirects to /storage/sdcard0. I can browse it with file managers, but other apps, such as camera won't see it.
Also, /mnt/extSdCard won't appear when I insert SD card, though it appears under /storage/sdcard1.
I have tried installing 3 different roms, but the issue persists.
I googled and searched the forums for many hours, but can't find similar problem or solution.
Please help!
Bump..?
