I think you are one of those many, that used the latest india rom available before rooting (from the 1.18 hboot) so no luck for you, because there is no ruu for that version.
THIS is as far as you can get to stock ATM.

It is deatiled in the thread I linked above. Flash twrp to your phone, put the files downloaded for your phone to the folder mentioned (I haven't used TWRP in my life) flash back stock kernel (boot.img) attached to that post an recover from twrp. This is for stock rooted rom. If you want a full stock rom you need in additin the following:
-bootup your phone and remove the root (the SU program can do it for you)
-go to fastboot usb mode, flash the stock recovery (also attached to the post) and relock the bootloader. (fastboot oem relock)
This later is not really needed or advised, because the BL will remain 'relocked' so if you want back stock because of service under warranty there is not much chance for it. (warranti is void because of BL unlock with HTCdev.com)
OR
If you want stock "like" feeleing there is mySense. Snappier than stock, but has everithing in it

Ask here maybe? Mine was listed thankfully. I can't see yours but maybe someone there can help. I'm currently doing OTAs to update the firmware on mine so will upload a stock backup that I can see is missing as well as the OTA files.

I assume your bootloader unlocked?
How about S-off?
If not S-off than I would use "Sunshine"
Once your S-off than I would ruu stock version and it will bring you back to complete stock with only an unlocked bootloader

When there is OTA, transfer the OTA.zip to PC before you install it and extract it with 7-zip
You'll see firmware.zip. Extract it, you'll see recovery.img
Use this one, you should be fine

I think you misunderstand what I said ... use the one extracted from OTA.zip
Anyway you can always try 3.32.771.3

yes you can, if your s-on, you will have to relock the bootloader first, if your s-off then no need, this is as long as there is an RUU for your phone.

So I just spent the last couple hours trying to root my phone. Only to realize that when I unlocked the bootloader i requested the wrong unlock.bin file. Instead of selecting the htc m8 file, I selected all other supported devices. I don't know if this is the cause of my problem, but since I can't reboot to bootloader, I feel that it is. Is the solution as simple as relocking the bootloader and then unlocking it with the correct unlock.bin file. Or can i just get the correct file and unlock it again. I don't know if any of it will work since the phone won't go into the bootloader. Thought I would as people that know more than me before I brick my phone.
Getting all the stock files from here and then using your cpu to flash everything you should be fine.

Ok, Thought I would have to be able to reboot to bootloader in order to flash but I will give that a try. Was there supposed to be a link or did you just mean "from here" as in the xda site?

Ok thanks. I'll do some searching and figure out how to do that, then try and flash the stock ruu. I'll report back if I have any issues. Thank you again.

So I've been reading around and come across some conflicting info. So I finally found the fastboot command to lock the bootloader but some have said to flash the stock ruu first while others say after. Can anyone clear this up for me and let me know if it makes a difference?
S-OFF - no need to relock the bootloader, just run the appropriate RUU
S-ON - relock the bootloader and then run the appropriate RUU
cheers.

Thanks for the help. I think I can handle this now. Is it worth it to go S-off? I'm gonna root once I am back to stock

Quick reattack on this. I never actually went away from stock. As I couldn't get into the bootloader I never flashed twrp or anything so do I really need to flash the stock RUU? Just trying to figure out for knowledge purposes. Am I basically flashing the RUU to start over from scratch or is it just a precautionary thing?
Hi,
My M9 is bootloader unlocked and S-ON, it's running ARHD12.0 which is lollipop.
I want to use ARHD20.0 which is Marshmallow.
What is the best way to update boot or firmware to support Marshmallow?
I am on TWRP 2.8.7 but I can't run TWRP 3.0.x coz it need 6.0 support as well (I think).
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestion.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if I need to restore anything to stock b4 I run RUU? (I assume you mean the exe version from HTC)
Thanks again,
Since your are s-on you need to relock your bootloader before running RUU.exe
Make sure your RUU is compatible with your current mid/cid
