Can You Change The Font On Outgoing Email - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I've noticed when I CC myself on messages sent from my phone that the email font is horrible Times New Roman. Is there a way that I can change the font on my outgoing email messages? I know there's a ton of apps that let you change how the font looks on your phone, but I don't care about that I care about how it looks to my recipients. If anyone has any ideas I'd welcome them, thanks!

I guess that's a no

No matter what your font is or how you change it the recipient is going to display your message/e-mail in his native font.
And if you could some how enable this, the receiving party would have to have your font installed in order for it to display on there screen.
Hope it makes sense to you.

No I appreciate the response and I can see your point. And you're right, most phones display the email in their own font anyway. I guess I should clarify, I'm more concerned with contacts reading the email on their computers. Most computers enjoy a pretty expansive font repertoire. Can a brother get some Calibri or at least some Tahoma! HAhaha! I guess there's not that big a demand for this. Shame.

Just to follow up, I upgraded from ICS to JB and JB does allow you to change fonts, it's EXACTLY what I was looking for. It makes my emails look much more professional.

Hosted Exchange 2007 Service...?

Anyone know of a hosted Exchange service that uses Exchange 2007? One that has pricing for individuals. I've been using 4smarthphone.net, the service and support are both excellent, but I'd like to try 2007 Exchange, and they have no immediate plans to implement it. Thanks!
I think Mail2Web.com has an Exchange hosting plan with Exchange 2007 for 8.95 a month.
Btw, are you the same person who designed a very nice landscape homescreen for Facade? It's a simple one with customizable icons on top, a Wifi indicator and large space for all the appointments and below that, SMS and Mail notifications.
If you are, great job, I love it and thats what I am using on my phone.
Thanks -- but mail2web is Exchange 2003 -- they offer Outlook 2007, maybe that's what you saw. Like 4Smartphone.net, Exchange2007 is 'planned'...
Yes -- I did make that screen, glad to see someone's getting use out of it: http://forums.sbsh.net/index.php?showtopic=14372 . I made another one, with a globe and using the blue color scheme that ships with the Dash -- but the layout of things is exactly the same. On WM6, that blue scheme looks great.
Oh, I didn't know they were still 2003. Well, I guess then I don't know of any. Most, or all I have seen have it planned. However, just as a reiteration, Mail2Web's service is great. There's a recent article on them at smartphonethoughts.com as well.
Where can I go to get the blue color scheme one?
I love your homescreen because its the most functional one I have found, but I sure could do with a color change from the boring grey.
And yeah, now I saw that I did post in that topic as well. I was the one with the Dopod and the font problem.
Have you made any more screens of late?
Try this one: $9.95/month
http://www.exchange2007hosting.net/
Thanks -- just signed up, will give it a try. Reasonably priced, but would be nice if they had a price-break for annual payment up-front, as with 4smartphone. If anything, it'll give me Exchange2007 until 4smartphone or mail2web gets it

"Boring grey"...?! It took me days to get the colors right But, with WM6 the glassy-blue stuff looks great, and they used a blue that matches the keyboard backlight. There are a lot of prettier screens out there, but I prefer everything up front -- no tabs, switching around, etc... Less-is-more
I've attached a screenshot, but no, I haven't uploaded it anywhere -- will probably post it at the same Facade site as the other at some point. To just get the blue part though, cut 'n paste the color scheme from the TMo default blue into the xml file you're currently using

Hehe, well, it was cool when I put it on my phone. But after so many months it does look boring. But yeah, I read the discussion on the thread earlier and did know that it took you a long time to get that gradient look.
That screenshot looks awesome!! You have to release it. I want it. Or upload it here. Send it to me. Do something!
I do agree about the tabs switching/less is more thing. I don't like going to 10 different screens just to get information. I want it all right there. Lately, the trend has been 3-4 different screens if you want a functional homescreen, or a too simplistic one if you just want it to be stylish.
Yours is the only one which strikes a good balance.
The gradients... the menus... the menu highlighting... homescreen text... homescreen highlighting... the IE progress bars... the window title and status bars... and a zillion others. First you have find the colors you want, then figure out the hex codes for them, and figure out which cryptic line in a color scheme controls what color... definitely not intuitive. Whoever did the colors for the default T-Mobile blue scheme did a great job, I only changed a few things

Thanks a lot. Will be waiting for it. I don't usually check SBSH's forums on a regular basis, so a small heads up here would be perfect.

Sliding Panels Customisation

I was just looking for a little advice on how to move some of the items on the sliding panels.
All I want to do is change the order of them, instead of having Missed Calls - Voicemail - Text Messages - Email, I would rather have it as Text Messages - Email - Missed Calls - Voicemail.
What would I need to edit this? What file? Where?
Do I need any specific software or can it be done with something like notepad2?
.G.
as far as i know you cant modifiy the order...atleast not yet. I could and proabably be wrong

your right, my bad.
Sorry, but it's not possible to do that with the current knowledge we have of the panels. Maybe later... who knows...
What about getting it to have dark text, or dark graphics? I would really love to be able to do something with some lighter homescreen backgrounds Im working on.

yeah man, goto home screen > Color scheme > Text: black
I Havnt Tested Rickys V9 And Below(but In Version10 For Sure)
In Your Settings-homescreen-color, You Can Select Black Or White Text, I Doubt This Changed The Start Bar Color But I Didnt Pay Attention... (also, Play Around With The Settings And Everything Else On The Phone...i Found Different Clock Options And Im Extremely Happy With This Version!)
could this be added to chome
Im on Ricky's v.4 at the moment, I was wondering what the technical method was of adding the black text, so I could preload it into a color scheme, appropriate to a given default wallpaper, button color, etc.

Hey you, black text? see attachment
extract...you know where it goes
AH, I get it now. I had been meaning to flash when I convenienly frozed my phone. It adds the black (or, white) text to the last picked color scheme. Nice!
Okay, now how do I mod the panels to black, and the icons in the top left corner of each? any starting spot? I didnt find anything that looked like a good lead in the .cpl or the .home...
Thanks, gang.
for the order of items in the panel, this might be useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2068381
not sure if this is true for all but whenever I set the text on a theme to 000000 it comes out jagged so i would suggest using 222222 or 111111...dark enough and not jagged.
I'm tempted to make a new thread, but this so seems like the right place. I've got the text themes working. Very well. I now can make my home screen a dizzying mess!
I am sure there is a way to make the panels themselves dark. Is it in a .dll in \windows? I cannot get some of them to copy, like, all the onse I want to pick at. Not that I am sure that my skills with ResHack are up for it. Anyone else interested?
I've got your chomebar.zip, now i am trying to integrate it.

noob question - i did a search before making thread

i changed my font size when i was texting someone and i don't know how i did it. it is now too small, and i want it a lil bigger. does anyone know how i can change the size in my text msgs?
also, i just got this phone. is htc going to send all pro2 users the update when oct comes around with the new system? or we **** out of luck?
thanks
1. Use the zoombar to change font size.
2. Yes, HTC will release WinMo 6.5 for TP2 users.

I assume you are talking about the default WinMo Messaging app? The zoombar works as a font-size changer in that app.
Why are you looking in menus for zoombar? The zoombar is the part of your device between the screen and the 4 hardware buttons.
Wow didn't know that.
Just to confirm it does work as a font size changer, but only when focus is on the text editing area at the bottom.
If focus is still in the previous threaded messages then the zoom bar works as a scroll bar.

i wasn't. you told me to look for zoombar. and i figure zooming had to be in the menu bar since thats how it is in alot of applications i use.
on a diff not, i tried to send a text msg like normal and hit the the 4 hardware buttons and it still does not change my font size. the reading pane window where old text msgs are is the area where i want to change the size.

Haha, dude, I think you're losing me.
What's your "normal" way to send a text message? There are several ways: (1) via compose new, (2) via TF3D, (3) via the threaded view of the WinMo Messaging app.
Why are you hitting the 4 hardware buttons to change font size? (Call send, Call end, Windows key, and Back key are not going to help)
What's this "reading pane window" you are referring to?
What I'm trying to say is a picture is worth a thousand words. Going forward, if you want help with troubleshooting, post a screenshot.
But for your case, try this. Go to "Settings" tab in TF3D, tap "All Settings", go to "System" tab, tap "Screen", go to "Text Size" tab, and adjust the setting here.

When a field is "in focus", that just means that it's active or that's where the cursor is. In fairness to HTC, I thought there manual was quite comprehensive. They've put just enough info to get someone who's not familiar with WinMo to be able to use the device.

Well, I don't think they're going to SEND it to you. I'm sure it will be available on you're carrier's site, presuming the carrier releases there version in October.

[Q] change font size?

in the 7 weeks i've used my Mozart, i have not found a way to change the font size, except for zoom-in and -out with email, web pages, etc. i would really like to increase the font size of the text message app. its one of the few frustrating things i don't like with WP7.
aslo here very frustrating that you can't change the font size
I would presume, currently, it is not possible. The UI has been locked down a lot to provide the same polished user experience to all users, allowing users to change the font size could result in a few quirks with the UI, i.e. text not fitting correctly.

Possible to change font color as you're typing?

I mean, for example, if I was to make the active text fields black background, and the font white as you're typing, that'd be awesome.
Does anyone know if there is that functionality in theming? Possibly an XML file
(or smali?)

it depends on the build..... Samsung loves to change the framework folder..... The text field would be in the tw/framework-res folders as a luster of .png's.... Im pretty sure the font color would be an xml..... I could be wrong or right, still depending on the build number....
I think it's possible, but it'd take a lot of trial and error
