in the 7 weeks i've used my Mozart, i have not found a way to change the font size, except for zoom-in and -out with email, web pages, etc. i would really like to increase the font size of the text message app. its one of the few frustrating things i don't like with WP7.
aslo here very frustrating that you can't change the font size
I would presume, currently, it is not possible. The UI has been locked down a lot to provide the same polished user experience to all users, allowing users to change the font size could result in a few quirks with the UI, i.e. text not fitting correctly.

Chinese Characters on TMobile Dash
Hi everyone,
I have in my possession an unlocked TMobile Dash which I'm trying to get some use out of in Shanghai, CN. I can't get it to display any Chinese characters except in ClearVue applications and internet explorer (so no SMS, menus, network warning messages, etc.)
I once had hopes of flashing the dopod ROM, but obviously I didn't act quickly enough.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

just copy a chinese font into windows dir.
You can try to install the CE-STAR.
It's the great software for you.
I had heard that CE-Star works well on the Dash for Chinese. I personally am using the Dash in Japanese (SMS, e-mail, Web, not menus, though).
~Cheers~
what about Korean? what software or what can i do... so that my dash could read korean as well????
thanks,
display japanese characters? (kana, kanji, asian font)
Hi,
has anybody succeeded in getting Japanese characters to display? Especially in email, web (opera mobile), dictionary (MDictSP).
I've searched the forums a bit:

There are lots of free solutions for PocketPC edition (or palm os) on the web, but next to nothing for Smartphone.
I'll keep you up to date if I manage to get anything working (haven't experimented yet).
use CE-STAR
It supports most Asian languages.
Incoming call screen font size
Is there any way to increase the font size of the calling number and name on the incoming call screen? This is for the Rogers WM6 ROM. I've looked through the registry but couldn't find an entry for this.
I did change the system font to "large" in the accessibility settings, and while it changed other screens, it had no effect on this one.
Any help is appreciated.
Is there really no solution for this?
If you can find out how to change the colors to white that'll be great too. Sesinger, do you know how to change the colors of the home screen test to black? I've got some pictures I want to use as wallpaper that are too light for the white text. Thanks

To-Do List Font Size
Hey everyone, searched for 20 minutes so it's not on the forum or I'm blind. Regardless, I'm wondering how I can change some of the fonts - most importantly my "to-do" or "tasks" when I'm entering them in on the phone. Running the HTC Rom and wm6. I want to make the font smaller so I can see more on the screen when entering and scrolling...
Also, I'm wondering if there's a way to change the font size in the text messages. Size that I'd prefer would be "small" or "smallest" if your viewing any text in your pop.mail.
Any one have any places, programs, or instructions to modify this? Tried SK Tools and it wont change the font sizes on those, just menu, system font, and a couple others.
Thanks ahead for any help.
Huh funny thing is I am also looking at how to change sms font size... in a search this is one of the first posts to come up...lol...

a good way to use a different font size is to use a program called xtreme text.
it is a threading sms app.
the do to list or tasks can be changed only through using a xtreme agenda.
Ive searched and cant find a precise answer i am looking for, SO i'll do it with a thread
How can you change the default font, and font size used in wm 6.1? It looks too big and edgy.
Thanks.

Change Fonts
There are any software that allow to change the font?
font too small for me
Any idea how to increase font size, changed to segoe but too small. Accesibility setting doesn't have increase font option like other roms. Help. Thanks,
Dave
Haha, yeah after not being able to find how to change it I found both those programs. Been using for a while now.
Changing size of system font for WM 6.1?
In the original Chinese build of 6.1 the system font was significantly smaller and I think looked a lot better in text messages, menus, etc. However, now in the WWE version of the 6.1 ROM the system font is a lot bigger. Anyone know a reg edit or something to make it smaller again?
I would like to know also. I have tried editing the read_sytle.0409.css and changing the fonts there doesn't seem to affect anything. I would desperately like to reduce the font on the threaded sms conversations.
Hi all,
The Manila interface is great, I like it very much but I have a small problem; the font size is too small and thin which makes it hard to read messages in SMS tab especially under sun light or day light, bright conditions.
Is there a way to change the font size or perhaps make the font italic, underlined or bold option for SMS tab?
Thanks in advance.
Try:
Settings -> System -> Screen -> Text size
That only changes the text size in native Windows Mobile dialogs; like sms inbox etc. not in Manila interface. So I am still trying a solution.

aegeuss,
just wondering if you ever figured out how to change the font size per your request? I'm still looking for the answer.

i have seen a mod in which ther's a button to increase or decrease font size in message tab..
i haven't found it in the net anyway...
No unfortunately not; there are two similar threads as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=539091 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471604 but the method in these threads change the system fonts completely. There's not an easy way to play with the manila interface fonts (size, color etc.) as afar as I know.
It's good one way that the new manila interface develops with each version but it reduces chances to tweak it for power users. May be that's the way HTC wants it, who knows.
Regards.
thanks for that info.
Personally, i think that it sucks that so much work has gone into making such a nice interface (i.e. the manilla interface) and yet no provisions were make to allow for the (seemingly simple) capability to alter the system font size. I understand that changing the font-face might not be so easy (who knows what fonts each of us might have installed) but the font size... really?

p.s. sorry for ranting.
if you put android on the kaiser.
does that mean you can use apps for rooted devices.
than i could use font size app.
or is there another app to have extremely large text especially in the messaging app.
As far as I'm aware, all android builds for kaiser are rooted, so we should be able to use rooted apps, although I have seen a few issues with rooted apps so your experience may vary.....

Hi there
I am 90% blind and have trouble using the phone, I long for an app that would allow me to change the font size, I found a program for WM to hack the font size, but not found this for Android yet. But if you want big font sizes in Text, get ChompSMS, its great, you can set incoming and outgoing font size and colour (which is great, cos I like black on yellow), I have font size set to 30pt (which should show just how bad my sight is!) but it means I can read texts now, I couldn't do that in WM! I am testing the 'eye's free' applications, which is text to speech, but its a bit hit and miss.
Hope that helps
Leona.
In 2.2 Froyo, I noticed that there is a 'Font size' in Spare Parts, which does make the menus readable (to me), but sadly once you come out of the menus the option is lost and you are back to small fonts, doesn't seem to save, shame
Hi guys,
I´ve been doing some tests with Simple Text but when the text is to big the words get cut or I have to make the fonts so small that I cannot read them properly. What other similar apps are there that would maybe allow me to make the icon size bigger?
Not sure I totally understand what you mean but maybe this app would help?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS50YWd5LnRhZ2Nsb3VkdWkiXQ..
Then again, probably not...
Thanks, bro. I´m going to give it a go anyway. It´s always fun to try out new apps.
This one would actually work if it didn´t create such large icons...I think I´ll just create some on photoshop.
How about this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DMsImpwLmNvLmJpaS5hbmRyb2lkLmFwcC5kc2t2enIiXQ..
I've not really started using it properly due to time so not sure if it will help but it does have loads of different sizes.
Still could not find an app for this that I liked. I think the best way so far is to create an invisible background on photoshop and the set it as default for all icons...this way only the labels remain visible.
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. When I looked at it in a store it just had the right size feel for a tablet - not too big, not too small. Well, I am finding there are significant challenges to readability when I use a tablet (I believe a 10" would have the same issue). My social connectivity apps all present me with eye strain (Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). I find the font sizes to be really tiny, and hard to read for any extended period of time :crying:.
In KitKat, I have gone to Settings > Display > Font > Font Size, and picked Extra Large. And, I have also looked in Accessibility > Vision > Font Size (this is the same setting, so also Extra Large).
But, there doesn't seem to be any real integration with Gmail or Facebook for these font changes. And, not to help things, neither Gmail or Facebook have Text Size or Font Size settings in their Android Apps!! Uugh! The change in the Android system font size does have *some* benefit for using the Web browser. But, it has mixed results. Many headlines, or sidebar items, or other specific screen elements, do not display any difference due to the system font change, and are still tiny, tiny, tiny!
Anybody know of better solutions for this 58 year old who want to enjoy reading on this thing? Is an iPad Mini any better for scalability?
on any page, you make triple click(tap) and you'll get magnified but fully functional page! enjoy! triple tap return magnification back!

Once rooted, you can install Xposed Framework and App Settings. This module permit you to set a custom DPI value for a specific application. This might help you with readeability.
Note that my device is still not rooted and I didn't try the App Settings module on this tablet.

What he means by this (as you may not know what a custom dpi does) is that you can on an app by app basis blow up or shrink the entire interface of the app by making it think it is on a larger or smaller display through changing its dpi.
Take a look at an app called Big Font on the play store, I've found it to be useful
