That's really cool stuff. I love technology.

Thats amazing. Yay for tech advancements :good:
Hopefully we'll start seeing this being implemented as soon as possible

Quick Samsung or Google buy and pantent this tech. Before apple.gets there nasty hands on it

This is cool. It will only take another 20 years for it to come to consumers though.

The only issue being "oh we're on the cutting edge of technology, better make it even more expensive even though its cheaper to make" I can see them putting in stronger smaller batteries and beefing up CPUs and GPUs though so I've no problem with this.
Sent straight outta Compton

Hopefully this leads somewhere. Instead of testing for the next twenty years before they release it to the consumer.

We'll start having phone models like EX and LE, the Samsung Galaxy S3EX, extended battery, etc.

Absolutely a good buy.
Its a great phone very responsive and for me does everything i could ever want/ need in a phone. That being said if you have the extra cash go for it because its the best phone sprint has out right now, but if the price you'll be paying for it off- contract is steep for you I suggest holding off on it because newer phones are coming very soon
Definitely worth it as mentioned before. The xda marketplace has better deals for the e4gt but they don't pop up too often. Expect to pay a good amount of money but it is a great device.

Fortunately with my income tax check coming I'll have a few bucks laying around. I was thinking of buying the nexus but I heard it wasn't coming till the summer. And honestly the epic has better specs.

Yeah unless Samsung releases a better nexus for sprint, our device is superior to it. Also, by the time the sgs3 comes you'll be nearing your upgrade

I have no complaints about both but I have heard others complain about them. The speaker could be better but I like it. I never owned the evo but compared to the evo 3d (which I still regularly use), the E4GT has both a better earpiece and speaker.
Here's a no nonsense review of the E4GT from flossy carter. Enjoy the show haha
E4GT Review FlossyCarter
My friends wife just got the White E4GT like 2 days ago. From her own words it's been one of the first phones shes been able to setup herself. Shes not very tech savvy (reason she has her husband or me to help at times) but so far she LOVES the phone. I'll be rooting his this week but going to leave his wife's phone alone for the time being. She really has no need for root and honestly wouldn't know what to do with it anyways . But they got the E4GT after they had a chance to use/play with mine for awhile and they love them.
Coming from HTC hero , id say worth the buy! Wanted the galaxy nexus but was like eff it and took the chance been by accessories i'm on it every minute

I'm four days into my SGS2, upgraded from the SGS1. I am pissed I waited so long! The S2 is a far superior product. It's faster, cleaner, thinner and just feels right when held in your hand. The screen is clearer, ntm bigger. It supports call recording (#1 biggest reason I bought the phone) and has a nicer camera. Longer battery life, thinner than the S1.
I spent $395 on an eBay auction for one new in the box, never touched. Lotta money, but well spent, imho. And I can sell my S1 + accessories for $200.
Better on everything the epic the evo is a good phone but once you get an epic you will see but on another note with the speed phones are being manufactured and with a year left I would save your money the epic will be mothballs by then and you could have an even better phone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I'd say buy one on eBay and sell your old one to help cover the cost; I've been on Sprint for less than 2 years and the E4GT will be my fifth phone (Samsung Moment, Samsung Transform, Samsung Epic 4g, EVO 3D, E4GT) - whenever I see something I want, I find it on eBay.
I won't even qualify for my first paid upgrade until April 1, but I plan to save that for the phone that I see and decide I can't live without the instant it comes out.
YMMV, but I paid ~$340 for a mint/used E4GT with original box & accessories; the better shape they're in, the more they go for but mid-$300's seems pretty average.
Good luck!
Totally worth it! Best phone hands down on sprint. You will love it.
I just bought one for a friend off craigslist, like new, mint, for $200. Just make sure is you go used, call sprint and ask if the esn is clear, AND if the phone is attached to any account.
There is also a couple g threads going around.. Get a airwave for free, and another to use it to get a upgrade price phone. Might want to look into that.

Without a doubt, best phone. Stay on top of rooted ROMs and it's the best. But even on Stock ROM this thing is tops.
Camera rocks. Speed is amazing. Could do better with GPS, but it works. Ear piece speaker is very loud. Very few issues.
The build quality is far superior to the Evo line. People complain about the plastic but it's super light and thin. No dust or light leakage problems.

Samsung is going to be just fine. check these out.

Check out some of these concepts. With the flexible amoled screen sammy is coming out with, the possibilities are endless.
Some of the renderings are a bit bizarre. But some are amazing imo.

I don't like how they tried and mix a iphone and a galaxy phone together his hands should be cut off for that design
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Looks cool. I think they should go with a quad 2.0Ghz and 4GB of ram with 32GB and 64GB models. That would make it the best phone ever.
Also a docking station to utilize all of that power with an additional 64GB plus an expandable memory that can utilize up to 128GB high capacity SD. Might as make it a workstation right? Capable of dual booting Linux for development purposes!

It's not about Samsung being fine.
It's about not letting patent troll whiny babies that have stolen from others' sue because of some loosely defined patents that should have never been granted.

Week long battery. I can toast a 3800 in 11 hours average. Much shorter if I constantly use the phone. Maybe a 6vdc golf cart battery could run a week.

I think apple will let them be if they move to windows though, this phone is a gs3 in a metal case with better insides. They ultimately want to be rid of Android and Samsung is an easy target with what they've been doing on their phones.

I think 4 inch would have been good last year by now is seems to small, I owned most high end smartphones, I think the one x has the best screen yet, and the Samsung s3 feels really good in the hand, the One S is better looking then the iPhone 5 IMO, but what I prefer now for my second phone is probably the new nokia windows phone it looks really good (including the OS), the only good thing about the iOS in general are the apps IMO, I never have a problem on my ipad or iPhone playing gta and I do sometimes on my GS3, I also miss tweetbot on my gs3 but I prefer jelly bean at the moment I can't wait till we get the official from Samsung

Samsungs got it in the bag with sgs3 and note 2 ....keeping the excitement alive with new innovation instead of flipping the old one around like Apple is doing. Seriously i was expecting much more from Apple they certinally have enough money to try new stuff so why arent they? i guess they are done, they are being blinded by the few ignorant sheep that call them "god" of phones. What about smart people who know their was something better from the G1 days,Apple cant compete i guess.

I would attribute the difference in software performance to the fact that companies put most of their resources into iOS development first then android. So you get a much more refined software on ios then you would on android.
It's honestly a flop. The back of the device is cute but besides that.. 4 Inch 4s. Same exact design and everything. I knew it was going to be bad but not this bad lol. I'm not even a legit Apple hater because i wanted the first Iphone (don't you lie and say you didn't want it when it first came out). Pretty funny though to be honest since i've been saying the 5 would be this ever since the rumors began like last year. :highfive: The ONLY thing i can honestly say apple wins over android is Apps. Been saying it for years even though i'm an android fan it's just the honest truth. The apps are better and always comes out first on IOS.
All-in-all a pretty standard upgrade across the board in typical apple fashion.
FINALLY the screen is at least somewhat larger. Fit and finish as always looks to be top notch. The single dynamic antenna is cool. I'm sure the new A6 processor will benchmark impressively. The camera looks to be even better and will likely be the best on a smart phone for the time being.
Some disappointments would be the lack of NFC technology (which Apple holds a lot of patents on, I would expect it to be integrated in two years on the new hardware model or next years refresh at the earliest), and the fact that battery life appears to be the same as the 4S (no improvement), new connector is kinda a bummer (although it was definitely time to upgrade)
Overall its a pretty substantial spec/hardware bump all around, and since people still buy them in droves I don't think Apple had much reason to do much of anything else.
A lot of the improvements are also part of iOS 6, the biggest of which appears to be seamless facebook integration from nearly anywhere.

Very true, which is why it was such a sigh of relief when all the GSIII's in the U.S. have identical specs.
In addition to a more refined software experience, the huge iPhone user base using essentially the same phone ensures that when a breakthrough app is conceived it will inevitably be made for iOS first and foremost in nearly all cases

No doubt sammy has done great things on s3 beside android feature. N4 is only good because there is 4.2 ; but u can get all features on s3 with sammy goodness.
Our devs arw bringing 4.2 soon on our phone too.
If I were you I will go blind for s3.

My wife got the N4 during launch and I got the S3 a few months ago.
I'd vote for N4. I really don't game, etc, but unlike most android phones it will be software supported for a while (at least the 2 year shelf life we're accustomed to). I've been running CM10 on my s3 since early on, and while it's good it still has its share of bugs. Plus we're still on 4.12.
The removable battery and microsd are nice (I have a spare extended battery and 64gb microsd), but I would give them up for proper software updates.

I have been in this indecisive boat for a while. Personally, I have and love my S3. My brother-in-law has been asking me what phone he should buy. I was nearly sold on telling him to get the N4, but I think I have went back to recommending the S3 over all others. The reviews on the N4 are pretty much in agreement that it wasn't the huge upgrade from the GNex that everyone was expecting. Glass on the back is fragile and plastic around the edge seems cheap. No expandable storage and no replaceable battery are really hard to swallow, especially if you plan on using the phone for any length of time. Batteries degrade and I have always ended up replacing my phone battery before I'm ready to give up the phone. And like the other poster said, most all cool features can be had on the S3. Had mine for a couple of months and don't regret is at all. Hope this helps.

Another one of these.. lol
I'll make this simple for you as we did the last person who was curiously asking...
If you need a micro SD card. Don't get a nexus 4.
If you don't, then get one and be OK with 16 GB of non removable internal storage.
If the N4 had been around when I was phone shopping, I think I would have still gone with the S3.
I would have preferred the LCD display (although AMOLED has plenty of fans that prefer it - personal preference), but for me the removable battery is really the killer feature. I don't want to feel like I have to baby a battery that is going to degrade in capacity no matter what - I want to be able to enjoy it and buy a new battery if that's what needs to happen - but I'm a bit too cheap to apply that feeling to buying an entire new phone.

Amazing technology though, will definitely have its uses.
Can't quite wrap my head around it, yet. Maybe I could wrap it around my head! lol! Talk about an immersive 3d experience!
