Have you all the time connected to the PC? If "YES" you must, my experience, disconntect for first boot.
Also my experience, the first boot takes a long time. More than other boots.

I'm has root this device. I'm install other room normally. I tried reinstalling 2, 3 times but still fail

Did you make a clean flash? (Wipe data and cache)

if you are upgrading from GB, better manually format /system too.
I had to do that the first time I isntalled a JB rom.

Problem boot htc evo 3d
Hi, I Have a Htc Evo, I followed the instructions found on the internet in order to make root and flash cyanogenmod.
First I unlocked phone on htcde.com-now phone isS-on; Hboot 1.53.007 .
Then I installed therevolutionary vs 4 I think for Recovery, then I installed the clockworkmod recovery, cyanogenmod and gapps.
When I gave restart, the sistem don't start, just a logo on the screen ... . I took out the battery I followed the same steps and the same.I put it on the sd another version of cyanogenmod but the same happens.
Can someone help me with a proper ideea ?!

Have you try flash boot.img include in zip file. So, i think you forget this. Try reboot to bootloader and flash boot.img via fastboot.

to install CM, the best method is reboot to recovery, full wipe (wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats), and go to mount and storage format system, then install the zip file + gapp. Don't forget flash boot.img via fastboot if you are S-ON. Hope that help.

Finally able to successfully flash a custom rom to my S-On HTC Desire HD. Thanks for your advise.

Nest time better ask in the ROM-thread itself.
Because the maker of the rom doesn't look trough all the threads.
And i would think the maker of the rom would know best.

[Q] a whole mess of problems..

Ok, so..my Girlfriend tried to root the phone herself and i think something went wrong...actually i know something went wrong..when i load up the Bootloader it gives me a few NO IMAGE found things on the SD card....but the real issue arises when i try to load a ROM onto the phone it will function for like 5 maybe 6 mintues then restart.
I tried to restore the phone to before roms were attempted to be installed on it, and the phone just hangs on the HTC screen and doesn't move.
I've tried installing Different Kernels using the whole fastboot flash boot boot.img method and none of the kernels i install seem to help..
I'm not 100% familiar with this phone since i myself use a S2 Skyrocket..
So my real question is..is there any way to get this phone back to square one so i can reinstall HBoot or whatever its called, or is there a way from where i'm at to stop this phone from constantly rebooting itself?
i don't think because there is no way to reinstall Hboot , only it can be done by HTC service centre but i will advice you to root it again from beginning , if your bootloader is already unlocked then try to root HOV , and after rooting i will suggest you to use PA rom with cm10 hellboy kernel
The no image thing is normal.not to worry.
Which Rom did you try to install?
Edit:is the phone gsm or cdma?

I was trying to install that one "Pacman"
It gets about to the point where she would enter her information for account sync and then it would just reboot.
and the phone is CDMA through Virgin Mobile
And about the CM10 thing, i was reading that CM10 doesn't work with the camera, and she needs the camera for work to send pics to her other managers
Ok,your phone is completely normal.
Now,do this in order
Put Rom and gapps in sdcard
Put the kernel in fastboot/platform-tools folder
Boot into bootloader and select fastboot.
flash kernel using the command you described in OP
Enter recovery.do a full wipe,i.e,factory reset,wipe cache,wipe.dalvik cache.also,go into mounts and storage and format every partition,except sdcard.
Then flash the Rom.zip, boot into Rom and then again into recovery and flash gapps.

sd-ext format isn't supported so you may as well leave it.and, use the boot.img inside the zip, that is the supersick kernel.

[Q] Not booting , stuck on boot loader or gets into a boot loop

Hi ,
I just went through multiple treads on this forum but none seemed to have helped .
Since yesterday my phone was getting stuck in a boot loop while using the AOPK rom.
so i decided to do the following :
- factory reset . ( Gave loads of problems on various recoveries but eventually worked on the latest CWM )
- wiped the cache via adb and via recovery
- tried multiple ROMS ( each with its own issues ) :
- ViperX 3.3.1 : boots up but once you unlock the phone you get the htc loading screen and you notice its stuck on HTC boot screen
-AOKP : loads to the unlock screen but is unresponsive and then just reboots
- CM 10 : Get stuck at the Boot screen
I made sure i flashed the boot.img of each rom before actually flashing it .
HBOOT is 1.36
Anybody have a clue what to do next or direct me in a thread i've might have missed ?
PS: all the issues started with Viperx being stuck in airplane mode and then it flashed it to aokp which worked fine for a couple of days
How did you update the hboot ? Official via stock rom or with a firmware.zip package ?
AOKP should work provided that it is the 4.2.1 version.
ViperX should also work.
CM10 has problems with higher hboot versions.
Try to flash a ROM (either ViperX or AOKP) like this:
Flash boot
Erase cache
Wipe/factory reset
Flash ROM
Flash GApps for Android 4.2.1 (only required if you flash AOKP)
Reboot
Should work!
BTW: Have you been flashing stuff from TripNRaver lately?
And if you did flash the firmware to update the hboot, you might get it solved by locking the bootloader and flashing the firmware update again

Alright so i just did this again for the AOKP , same issue .
now it boots get the intial htc screen ---> goes to the loading swagger ----> show me the choose language screen .
Now my screen will not respond to any touches and the phone will just restart after 10-15 seconds ( I believe when the screen locks )
Haven't tried viperx again yet but i assume it will be doing the same . only it will stay in the unlock screen and then when unlocking it will show me HTC boot screen ( i can the shut down - reboot - airplane mode screen on here )
And you are sure you did a full wipe ! Didn't mis any wiping step, all caches ?

yeah
erased cache via adb ,
when into the recovery did a factory reset , erased cache again , dalvik cache ,erase system .
then when starting it goes into a boot loop
i did notice when connected to the pc it recognized the device and i can access the internal storage ( well as long as it does not reboot  )

Little update ,
I tried flashing the rom again ( New download to make sure i dont have any corrupt files )
When trying to factory reset if get the message "error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure
Could this be part of the issue ?
Hmm ...don't now yet, I would start from scratch. Backup the sd content and format the sdcard too within the recovery, then copy over the rom.zip and try again. Its difficult to say. The android secure folder is located on the sdcard. So maybe a reformat of the sdcard can fix this .....

Could it be a recovery issue ?
Well that's the problem, can't say for sure. Try the latest TWRP recovery maybe it handles things a bit different ..... seen the problem before a long time ago but the problem is that most people don't report back after they solved it, they just abandoned the thread.
ok this last thing got fixed via this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942519 worked like a charm
Did accidentally mounted the sdcard then ?

well if i go into the TWR i is clicked as mounted now and i can actually do a factory reset .
still the orignal issue is still there
i just want make sure i am not missing any steps here
i go
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
-fastboot erase cache
go into the recovery and install the rom and the gapps
loads up , get to the intial setup screen , reboots ...
You have to wipe everything in the recovery not just the caches, also the data, system, cache partition, dalvik cache. Everything that not involve the sdcard

[Q] Roms takes too long to boot up?

Hi,
This is the first time i'm installing a custom rom on my One X and every rom I tried takes too long (15min) to boot up and then i actually give up and try something else
I've tried:
CM10
ICJ 1.6
and some others but they keep getting stuck at htc logo screen
Can somebody help me out and tell me what i'm doing wrong?
This is what I do:
I've rooted and unlocked bootloader
1) go into fastboot
2) flash boot.img
3) go to recovery
4) wipe cache and dalvik cache
5) install rom with recovery
6) wipe cache and dalvik cache
7) install gapps
8) wipe cache and dalvik cache
9) reboot
That is the procedure i saw on many threads and sites.
Problems?:
One thing i noticed was that when going to HBOOT I get the following: failed to open usb master mode
Roms that did work
Android Revolution HD 18.1 and 9.8, I think that's because of the aroma installer and I don't have to do anything
But Android Revolution HD worked very slow and laggy for some reason...
Any help is greatly appreciated. Have been searching everywhere for 2 days know and can't figure it out
Boot.img needs to be flashed after you install the ROM.
Otherwise the ROM will flash over the Boot.img (atleast I think thats how it works)
By the way, no ROM would take 15 minutes to boot, if it does you're in a bootloop.

I don't know where you got the instructions from, but they're horribly wrong and overly redundant.
This is what you should do when flashing a new rom:
1. Boot to recovery
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Flash rom and gapps (if necessary)
4. Reboot into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader)
5. Flash boot.img
6. fastboot erase cache (if you're having problems, usually unnecessary)
That's all. For upgrading the same rom (say, to a newer version), you can skip step 2.

That only applies to non-HTC phones or HTC phones with s-off. Phones with s-on like the HOX will not flash boot.img via recovery, only fastboot. Other phones have their boot.img flashed via recovery directly, skipping the fastboot bit as it is redundant.
1st: wrong forum, you have to post that in Q/A
2nd: you dont have to flash the boot.img after ROM, the ROM cant overflash it because we dont have s-off yet
3rd: are you sure you are using the right kernel (boot.img) for the ROMs you are trying to flash. After the hboot updates (JB) we got some changes on what you can flash and what not.

First of all Sorry for posting in the wrong forum and thankyou for the replies.
I have tried the things you guys said and it still didn't work
the boot.img i use are the ones included in the zip.
EDIT:

And you are sure that you can use that specific ROM with your curent firmware ? Is your hboot 1.31 and above (did you perform the JB OTA) ?

sometimes you also need to fastboot erase cache because at sense roms it can help...try that if it won't work did you flashed any mods after that?

No i'm not sure (will search how I can find out), yes I have hboot 1.31, yes I have performed JB OTA.
I have also done fastboot clear cache
If you want to use CM10 on a JB hboot you need a modified boot.img file

With this one and a full wipe it will boot fine
The failed to open usb master error is due to the cable that is connected to the pc, plug it off and try it again. The error will be gone

From what i've noticed on my HTC One X the steps to install ROMS on it is the same but in a pattern!
1)Boot recovery and install the rom THEN the gapps
2)Factory Data Reset (If coming from a sense rom to a AOKP/AOSP(cyanogenmod for example)
3)reboot in fastboot then flash the boot image.
That should be all.
If it's a sense rom your flashing then the rom is corrupted.

[Q] Problems flashing ROM, tried too many things

I've tried lots and lots of things for hours now and I've still been stuck in the boot screen of htc for the past 4 hours. And yes, I've googled so much and tried all solutions that people have had, and it's still not working.
I have tried wiping, installing ROM, go into recovery, fastboot flash boot boot.img, reboot and it hasn't worked for me.
I've tried both TWRP and CWM to install my ROM. I have a backup in TWRP that I did before it derped, but it doesn't turn my phone into working state again.
The ROM I'm trying to activate is the Cyanogen Mod 10.1 from the weekly link.
Only once I managed to get the Cyanogen boot screen (it got stuck there too), but after flashing my boot.img it disappeared. I tried updating my hboot with something I downloaded.
What have I done wrong? After reading all those threads, I'm totally clueless.

Oke do this
If you have cwm 5.8.4.0 (otherwise flash it to follow these steps)
Enter the recovery and perform a full wipe
Data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Mounts and storage-format cache,data,system
Advanced-wipe dalvik cache
install the CM10.1.zip (do not reboot after)
install gapps (do not reboot after)
Then type in the fastboot window :
Adb reboot bootloader
Flash the boot.img file from the rom
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot reboot !
Fingers crossed

I followed your steps so precisely... but it didn't work Also I think I've done something close to this process before and had no success.
What you did differently though, I never installed gapps, and I didn't know that you can wipe dalvik cache in CWM.
What I had to do during your method though was go into mount SD storage and insert a fresh copy of both the gapps and CM10.1.
If you need any more information I'd gladly provide them as quick as possible, I'll be refreshing this thread constantly
Try my steps again but this time use a completely different rom. Try a standard sense base rom. Just to check if its booting ! Ow and you can leave the step for gapps away. And you can choose to do the boot.img thing first and then the recovery part.
This one maybe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063556
If it does not boot up we are missing something somewhere ... You are actually flashing the boot.img from the rom correctly ....also flash the boot.img from the rom .... Its inside the rom.zip

Try my steps again but this time use a completely different rom. Try a standard sense base rom. Just to check if its booting ! Ow and you can leave the step for gapps away. And you can choose to do the boot.img thing first and then the recovery part.
This one maybe

I downloaded ViperX_2.6.0 instead (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745176), since it was pretty much done right before you added the suggestion. The guide there tells me to flash the boot first then install the rom, but I did the rom first. IT WORKED! Thought it was stuck in the bootscreen again haha. I got to the unlock screen, but after unlocking all I saw was the HTC symbol. I then held the power button and pressed restart. Same thing after restart. After unlocking, all I see is a white screen with the HTC symbol in the middle. Can only lock the phone :/ Is it me or the ROM?
Or the phone ! Strange ..... But you must flash a JB rom to check if your bootloader supports it. The viper x 2.6 is an old ics one and runs on any hboot.
Actually is doesn't matter what you do first ..... It works both ways.
Test the bugX Rom. Flash the boot.img that is inside the bugX.zip copy it out to the fastboot folder and flash it directly from there. Make sure to full wipe again and install the rom .....I don't know what else....doing it like this for months and never failed.

Nevermind it worked after waiting a long time! The ROM works! Thanks!
But now, how do I go and fix CM10.1? I'm thinking I might have downloaded the wrong CM10.1 file since it was only 171MB and this ROM is around the 600MB range.
YOke now test a true JB rom. Read my post above to check the hboot !
And CM10.1 is that small. I don't know why it does not work ! Installed it this week on somebody else's phone just like i described here .....

Alright I was gonna try the bugX ROM to test out if JB Roms worked, but I'll try CM10.1 once again using only the links you posted above. Will report back!
EDIT: IT WORKED! IT TOOK 6 HOURS BUT IT WORKED! Oh my god thank you SO MUCH! I have no idea what I did wrong though!
It might be the choice of CM10.1 type, or something. I just used your first method with your files and it just worked instantly!
Once again, thank you so much for bearing with me for so long haha.
I have a proble...
I tried to instal viper 3.3.7 rom and I failed it stuck on htc screen. Than I tried to do my nandroid backup cm 10.1 b6 and the phone can not reed sd card. It behaves like it is not there. When I go to recovery there is that folder 0 and than i cut and paste all from that folder back to rot of the phone but even when I tried clean install of cm 10.1 b6 it did not stick. What Do I have to do to have everything working again.
Please help.
I have an extraordinary patience mate
Have fun with CM10.1

[Q][HELP][SOLVED] Fastboot can't send boot.img to my phone

I think I really screwed up my phone, I was trying to get my Google play store working on my phone by adjusting the Dpi (read it somewhere on the internet), so I rebooted and it wouldn't load my rom/system anymore. But the problem now is, is that I can't acces my sd card with HBOOT or similar things, fastboot does see my device but if I try sending files to it the next error appears:
C:\Users\Elke\Desktop\r1-primo-superboot>fastboot flash system shpongle.zip
sending 'system' (131180 KB)... FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
Als this error keeps occuring:
C:\Users\Elke\Desktop\r1-primo-superboot>fastboot flash boot boot.img
< waiting for device >
sending 'boot' (2988 KB)... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
Does anybody know what I should do to get my phone working again? Because I really need my phone (it contains all my appointments and homework and stuff)
PS: If you need more information on my phone just ask for it and I'll try my best to find it!
PPS: Thanks in advance!
I think I fixed it
After numerous attempts my phone is responding to some fastboot commands, so I think I got it working again
Edit:
Now my phone is stuck at the HTC startup screen

Are you sure you flashed the right kernel for the ROM as stated in it's OP?

heyy man, if you have a custom recovery already installed, use that to wipe your phone and install the new rom
then pull the boot.img out of the rom .zip you are trying to use, then you need to "fastboot flash boot d:/boot.img" (of course, to your boot.img location)
hope this helps
Yes

The custom ROM is no longer on my phone due to lack of space, and here is the problem I can't acces my SD card (Won't show up in my computer) in bootloader (to transfer the needed files) Is there someway to transfer my files with fastboot? or ADB or something like that?

umm no u can get to recovery by holding down power button until your screen turns off and then holding your volume DOWN button
if u have full wiped b4 there's no need to do it again

I just flashed the boot image you gave me, but it's still stuck at the HTC screen.
Dammit again
I have to go to school in about 2 minutes so here is the status of my phone
-just flashed new kernel, but still stuck at HTC screen
-In bootloader when I select my customrecovery (TWRP) it shows HTC with a loadboar in the right-upper corner, then that loadingbar disappears and it shows just HTC (with red lettering underneath : This build... etc) and gets stuck again.
Thanks for the help so far but my phone is still broken dammit :c
Since you've got fastboot working again, re flash your custom recovery first.
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then boot into recovery.
Now you can go into >advance>mount>mount USB storage
( using TWPR )
Copy the custom Rom to your pc
Unmount USB storage move to >wipe cashe, dalvick cache, factory reset, system
Wipe everything.
Move to > install and flash Rom
Once install is finished click the wipe cashe/dalvick.
Go back to the home screen in TWRP click >reboot> bootloader
Now flash your kernel. fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once finished fastboot reboot
I think you might have had a bad recovery flash.

I tried flashing the newest recovery (TWRP) but no luck, any advice and which recovery rom/img I should use?
Are you primoc or primou?
---------- Post added at 05:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:17 PM ----------
I'm primoc I've got everything you'll need if you are too
If you're primou, frankly I'm sorry but I wouldn't be able to help you with what recovery/boot.img or Rom to use because I have not and will not be able to test them before I suggest them.
Just not good help practice.
