[Q][HELP][SOLVED] Fastboot can't send boot.img to my phone - HTC One V

I think I really screwed up my phone, I was trying to get my Google play store working on my phone by adjusting the Dpi (read it somewhere on the internet), so I rebooted and it wouldn't load my rom/system anymore. But the problem now is, is that I can't acces my sd card with HBOOT or similar things, fastboot does see my device but if I try sending files to it the next error appears:
C:\Users\Elke\Desktop\r1-primo-superboot>fastboot flash system shpongle.zip
sending 'system' (131180 KB)... FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
Als this error keeps occuring:
C:\Users\Elke\Desktop\r1-primo-superboot>fastboot flash boot boot.img
< waiting for device >
sending 'boot' (2988 KB)... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
Does anybody know what I should do to get my phone working again? Because I really need my phone (it contains all my appointments and homework and stuff)
PS: If you need more information on my phone just ask for it and I'll try my best to find it!
PPS: Thanks in advance!

I think I fixed it
After numerous attempts my phone is responding to some fastboot commands, so I think I got it working again
Edit:
Now my phone is stuck at the HTC startup screen

Are you sure you flashed the right kernel for the ROM as stated in it's OP?

heyy man, if you have a custom recovery already installed, use that to wipe your phone and install the new rom
then pull the boot.img out of the rom .zip you are trying to use, then you need to "fastboot flash boot d:/boot.img" (of course, to your boot.img location)
hope this helps

The custom ROM is no longer on my phone due to lack of space, and here is the problem I can't acces my SD card (Won't show up in my computer) in bootloader (to transfer the needed files) Is there someway to transfer my files with fastboot? or ADB or something like that?

umm no u can get to recovery by holding down power button until your screen turns off and then holding your volume DOWN button
if u have full wiped b4 there's no need to do it again

I just flashed the boot image you gave me, but it's still stuck at the HTC screen.

Dammit again
I have to go to school in about 2 minutes so here is the status of my phone
-just flashed new kernel, but still stuck at HTC screen
-In bootloader when I select my customrecovery (TWRP) it shows HTC with a loadboar in the right-upper corner, then that loadingbar disappears and it shows just HTC (with red lettering underneath : This build... etc) and gets stuck again.
Thanks for the help so far but my phone is still broken dammit :c

Since you've got fastboot working again, re flash your custom recovery first.
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then boot into recovery.
Now you can go into >advance>mount>mount USB storage
( using TWPR )
Copy the custom Rom to your pc
Unmount USB storage move to >wipe cashe, dalvick cache, factory reset, system
Wipe everything.
Move to > install and flash Rom
Once install is finished click the wipe cashe/dalvick.
Go back to the home screen in TWRP click >reboot> bootloader
Now flash your kernel. fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once finished fastboot reboot
I think you might have had a bad recovery flash.

I tried flashing the newest recovery (TWRP) but no luck, any advice and which recovery rom/img I should use?

Are you primoc or primou?

If you're primou, frankly I'm sorry but I wouldn't be able to help you with what recovery/boot.img or Rom to use because I have not and will not be able to test them before I suggest them.
Just not good help practice.

Why don't you first try to flash a recovery? It looks like your recovery went haywire. In bootloader, go to fastboot, issue the following from your PC's cmd prompt:
fastboot flash recovery <full path to your recovery file>.img
CWM released a new recovery today 5.8.4.0. I flashed it and it works.
EDIT. You can find all the required adb and fastboot files in this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24967468&postcount=1
The CWM recovery file included is older but it works.

There is another recovery option available in the Development thread: TeamWin Recovery
Try using that. I read somewhere that people having problems with CWM flashed TeamWin and were successful.
EDIT: Before flashing either CWM or twrp, maybe you should try erasing your recovery partition and cache partition with
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
and then flash the recovey image.
EDIT 2: Another option would be to flash the stock recovery. I don't know what your regioncode/CID is. Find the appropriate stock recovery and flash that.

Screwed up my One X

I tried installing a custom rom today and I think I messed up really bad, because my phone does not get pass the boot screen and I cannot enter the recovery setting. I think I messed up after entering
fastboot flash boot boot.img
in the command prompt and restarting because I forgot to put the rom zip on my phone. Since then I could not get pass the boot screen and even tried running a backup using CWM, but it didn't help. I then managed to mount my phone and put the rom onto it and installed it, but again it didn't help.
Now my phone can only enter the bootloader, I select hboot and fastboot, but nothing else works. Everytime I select recovery or factory reset I get the htc boot screen and it gets stuck. Does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks
did u backup your phone rom???
if you did u can go to recovery and restore it
and never try to change rom again trust me in that
otherwise i can't help bcuz i did the same mistake
I did make a backup, but like I said I can't enter recovery anymore, so I can't load the backup.
Thanks for trying to help anyway though.

What HBOOT version do you have and what custom ROM are you trying to install?
edit: you didn't need to restart after changing boot.img cause in Recovery you can just go Advanced and then mount USB and copy the ROM or whatever files you want that way.

I have hboot 1.39.0000 and I was trying to install the latest cyanogenmod cm-10-20130106-NIGHTLY-endeavoru.
Yeah I realized this after I restarted and did it get the zip onto the phone. I think I installed it, but the phone is still stuck on the boot screen
UPDATE: Okay I've managed to install CWM recovery, so I think I'm making progress
You had to flash CWM again? Odd..
Anyway, if you happen to encounter the same problem with CM10 I suggest you try some other custom ROM.. Just make sure you "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and then "fastboot erase cache", and if for some reason you decide to format the sdcard or simply forget to add in the ROM zip, you can do it in Recovery when you mount the device as USB under Advanced options. Best of luck!

Yeah CWM didn't load up, but I got it working again. Well it seems I'm back to getting the rom to install and being stuck at the boot screen again, so maybe I just need to use a different rom. Thanks for the help though
Okay, I've tried installing a few roms, but unfortunately I'm still on the boot screen, I can sometimes even reach the cyanogenmod boot screen, but get stuck there. I've read that this might be kernel issue, does anyone have any ideas?

[Q] a whole mess of problems..

Ok, so..my Girlfriend tried to root the phone herself and i think something went wrong...actually i know something went wrong..when i load up the Bootloader it gives me a few NO IMAGE found things on the SD card....but the real issue arises when i try to load a ROM onto the phone it will function for like 5 maybe 6 mintues then restart.
I tried to restore the phone to before roms were attempted to be installed on it, and the phone just hangs on the HTC screen and doesn't move.
I've tried installing Different Kernels using the whole fastboot flash boot boot.img method and none of the kernels i install seem to help..
I'm not 100% familiar with this phone since i myself use a S2 Skyrocket..
So my real question is..is there any way to get this phone back to square one so i can reinstall HBoot or whatever its called, or is there a way from where i'm at to stop this phone from constantly rebooting itself?
i don't think because there is no way to reinstall Hboot , only it can be done by HTC service centre but i will advice you to root it again from beginning , if your bootloader is already unlocked then try to root HOV , and after rooting i will suggest you to use PA rom with cm10 hellboy kernel
The no image thing is normal.not to worry.
Which Rom did you try to install?

I was trying to install that one "Pacman"
It gets about to the point where she would enter her information for account sync and then it would just reboot.
and the phone is CDMA through Virgin Mobile
And about the CM10 thing, i was reading that CM10 doesn't work with the camera, and she needs the camera for work to send pics to her other managers
Ok,your phone is completely normal.
Now,do this in order
Put Rom and gapps in sdcard
Put the kernel in fastboot/platform-tools folder
Boot into bootloader and select fastboot.
flash kernel using the command you described in OP
Enter recovery.do a full wipe,i.e,factory reset,wipe cache,wipe.dalvik cache.also,go into mounts and storage and format every partition,except sdcard.
Then flash the Rom.zip, boot into Rom and then again into recovery and flash gapps.

sd-ext format isn't supported so you may as well leave it.and, use the boot.img inside the zip, that is the supersick kernel.

You need to flash a new recovery I think,
I think touch is supported with TWRP 2.5 or 2.6, or philz touch recovery.
I believe that if you flash the new TWRP over the old one, your backups are safe and touch is restored.

Are you sure that after you flashed the recovery you did:

and are you sure your phone is international?

Leave it to boot for a couple of minutes. If you flashed the boot.img right it should boot up.

Or go into recovery do a factory reset and reinstall rom, you can mount usb from recovery to if you need to copy the rom.zip onto the phone.

hboot recovery issue

Hey there guys, I've just unlocked Bootloader as described on the htcdev./ site,
Unfortunately, now when I enter HBOOT, no only do I recieve a "failed to open usb master mode" and "pj46img.zip" fail message, but when I click "Recovery", my phone switches back to fastboot. I need to backup my system to downgrade and root afterwards.. anyways
Anyone experienced this before or has any idea what to do?
The Model is: HTC Endeavor , Android ver. 4.2.2, Sense 5...
and...
What the status bar tells me :
*** UNLOCKED ***
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.72.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-5.1204.167.31
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode : disabled
HW secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH : OFF

Error message is normal because you have the usb connected. Without cable you won't get the message.
Second when you are in the bootloader do the command :
Fastboot erase cache
And you need to flash or boot a custom recovery !
Fastboot boot recovery.img
Or
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
The custom recovery has to be named "recovery.img" and be placed in the fastboot folder on the pc !
And what do you want to downgrade ?
Cache erased

Wow, thanks for such a quick answer.. sorry for not coming and thanking sooner...
Anyways.. I erased the Cache as recommended.
The reason why downgrade was because somewhere I read there are problems with rooting my phone on 4.2.2 so I thought downgrading to 4.1.1 would be adequate... Anyways recent research pushed me into believing it is not necessary...
Yeah, so anyway I've been looking for a custom recovery to use as you said...
version-main: 4.18.401.2
cidnum: HTC__032
Do I need to find a recovery for exactly my CIDnumber?

Stuck... damn it!
Yeah, umm hello there again.
So I used the Cyanogenmod recovery in the end...
Anyways I let myself led by the guide posted by Thömy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583037)...
Everything went fine, I got the bootloader unlocked (before already), the recovery provided by ClockWorkMod, did a Data wipe, downloaded everything necessary, booted into Recovery... but when I got to flash the CM 11.0.zip (installing from the zip file in recovery) It failed..
So for no reason i decided to simply restart the phone and try whatever will I find then.. I haven't got past the white/green HTC screen though and I'm stuck at it... I can get back to recovery or the Bootloader, but nothing more, nothing less...
Any Idea?.. I'm struggling with it for a few hour now and feel lost

Use the Recovery that Mr Hofs gave you and flash the CM 11 package. Should work. CWM recovery sometimes gives you errors while flashing since you may have to modify the updater-script with-in the package to flash successful.
Nice, felt some progression

Cool :good:
So I used the Recovery from el Maestro and flashed the CM 11 package.
I got to a "Cyanogenmod" booting screen at which I'm stuck...
It updated some files but, that's all and the arrow wheel keeps spinning? any Idea?
btw: I'm really sorry if someone already had this problem,
I swear I spent hours looking for one, but when I found a similar one,
it wasn't really what I was looking for in the end
[EDIT] Also when I try to boot the system with the boot.img file included in cm-11 package, I'm not stuck on the Cyanogenmod screen but all the way back on the HTC logo screen again
Flashed the boot.img from the cm11 zip ?
Flash instead of Boot

Yes, I until now was directly booting "fastboot boot boot.img" with cmd on computer.
Now when I flashed it into the device, I cannot even get to the Cyanogenmod screen, hehe

The flash command should be "fastboot flash boot boot.img" are you sure you are doing it right?

yep Did it exactly this way ... It now behaves the same as when only booted with the boot.img :/
Did you perform a full wipe within the custom recovery before installing the cm zip ? Seems to me you forgot to wipe something !

Ok try this..
Assuming you already did a full nandroid backup, do the following:
1. Do a FULL wipe on your device.
2. Flash the ROM again
3. Reboot to bootloader
4. Flash the boot.img again
5. Reboot
6.Thank me if it works.
Should work, that's normally the steps I take when flashing ROM's and have never failed me.
If he flashes the boot.img alresdy its a wipe issue. Doesnt matter when you flash it because it's not going to be changed installing a rom or wiping partitions from within the recovery (definitely not on a s-on device)
6: kinda corny to mention that isn't it ! Bit of a desperate call for appreciation......not confident enough you need confirmation
Got past it!

I don't think it "kills to try" like I mentioned at the bottom that's how I usually do mines when am blocked by issues. and NO not desperate for appreciation either.
